Mixed feelings about this place. Visited recently and found a wonderful lady at the checkout who was courteous, professional and patient when navigating the coupon discounts offered. Seems signing up for emails gets you 20% but they already offer 15% to anyone in store, but you cannot combine the two so that means you only got 5% for offering up your personal information and allowing them to pepper you with their marketing baloney. OK. At least the great lady at the checkout made up for that gaffe by corporate. Next, felt the general store quality had improved. Good. Wanted to buy more there but the prices were higher than elsewhere. Noted. Did find a few things. Next, tried to exchange a defective item (pillow) less than a week later. It developed a hole in a seam. Talked to a younger manager, who pushed a lot of questions at me suggesting it was my fault the seam had failed. NOT GOOD. Patiently endured her questions. Then she told me there could be no exchange without a receipt. Told her my charge would be in the system. Not good enough. (WHAT?) Offered to show her the charge recpt in my VISA app. Not good enough. Turns out the pillow I saw there during my original visit was too expensive anyway and I had decided to purchase elsewhere. I purchased it at Wal Mart, so I did not need to exchange it at World Market after all. OF COURSE WAL MART TOOK IT BACK ON EXCHANGE HAPPILY WITH NO QUESTIONS OR ISSUES - and it cost me half of what World Market wanted for the pillow!!! Word to the wise. Don't shop with World Market if they cannot support you after the sale, no matter how nice the sales clerks are at the time of purchase. Who needs the extra cost and hassle? read more

I wanted to like this place so bad here in bend but it's just not possible. Gave it 3 attempts throughout the year with months in between going in. 1st attempt I had someone follow me around the store didn't leave with anything because it was obvious I was being monitored. 2nd attempt I found items I actually wanted to buy but didn't but then due to being monitored again so I left them, 3rd attempt I was monitoring again so I sat down on a couch just to test it out and sure enough the staff was watching and this time it was multiple so I left my items and walked out. Security actually came out a little after I left and he did a perimeter walk and that was my final attempt and the world market here in bend. Kind people in the store, but they do not honor the online rewards that are sent via email.

Today I went into world market after browsing their website and seen several products that I was interested in that store was in stock for a pick up today. It was mainly one item I was really going for and I drove 20 miles from my home to the store for this one item that their website said they were in stock in. After browsing the store for about 30 minutes looking around and unable to locate the main product I had traveled there for. I approach an employee walking by me and asked her if they had this product I was looking for and I showed her the product on my phone. She pulled out a store handheld device punched in the product number and told me there was 13 on hand. After searching the store floor for the item, she told me well It must be in back on one of the pallets. I had told her that I had traveled from Redmond mainly for this product. And she told me that she lives in Redmond as well 20 miles away. I then said well then you know how annoying it can be to travel so far from Redmond to Bend. Then she said I should go ahead and just put in an order for the product and wait a couple days to come and get it. Needless to say, I left the store very unsatisfied. I also work for a major retail store. We always bend over backwards to get our customers the products that they came to our store for. I really felt that it would've been far better if she had just offered to go back in the back get the product off the pallet and then I would've been happy she didn't offer and they lost a sale. read more

If you by chance like a human misplaced a receipt do not expect anyone to help you exchange a thing here. If you like supporting faceless corporations with zero customer service do shop at World Market. They will treat you like your business doesn't matter. They just lost mine for life. Normally not a fan of huge import stores of this type, but the Bend location for World Market can be a good one for purchases for "nest feathering" or gifts. Things worth considering... ... "kitchy witchy" seasonal decor. ...interesting accent furniture like little side tables and benches and accessories like mirrors. ...gift box and baskets and bags along with wrapping paper and ribbons. . .....artisan food products; like a fav brand of good pasta sauce, hard to find spice blends like Ras Al-Hanout, good quality preserved lemons...the list goes on. ..chocolates and more chocolates; including an assortment of chocolate covered marzipan from Germany during the Christmas holidays. ...kitchen and entertaining items; like souffle and custard cups in various sizes and colors as well as martini and other German made stemware in interesting formats that can be used to serve libations or desserts, cutting boards, napkins, colanders and on and on. ...decent selection of wine, mostly domestic and some imported, in price ranges from inexpensive to moderately high. And always at this store, ultra helpful and friendly sales staff. Top notch customer service! Some of the best of any retailer in the area. Not to mention, well laid out aisle ways that make shopping access easy for everyone. Located in the Cascade Village Shopping Center, there is alsoample parking in the large lot. Sounds like I like it so why not a big fan of these huge import store formats? Because I think about whether the workers in some of the countries of origin are being fairly compensated and working in decent conditions (China, Laos, Nigeria as example). Also I am concerned that the "it's so inexpensive you can throw it away after one season" fuels consumer behavior that overhwelms landfills and uses up natural resources at an alarming rate. So I typically limit my purchases here to those things that my conscience lets me buy - the domestic food products, the more durable goods with countries of origin that make me more comfortable about working condtions. Yep, I'm a fan but mostly because of the food section. CPWM has a sizable inventory of products from around the world, including a lot of nifty spices and seasonings. They also have a fairly good cookware and accessories section. read more

Worst service ever TODAY! Online offer for 15% off. I went to the store so I could see the merchandise before purchase and was told they would not honor the discount if I ordered the item online while in the store. Her exact words were, " It takes too much time for us to see your purchase." Feels a lot like bait and switch. I will never go back! read more

Normally I enjoy going to this store and have no issues with the customer service but today was a completely different experience. I went into the store with my daughter, mother, niece, and sister in law and when we went to go check out the service was terrible all because we were trying to get a free succulent.( with a coupon for members) I was yelled at by 2 different employees who were working register and a manager! It was super rude and they were completely disrespectful. My daughter decided she wanted a different succulent than I had picked out so I went up to a lady at register who seemed open so I could ask her if we could simply swap them out. As I walked up she gave me a angry look and in a mean tone and said angrily "I'm not open". I tried to explain to her that I only wanted to ask one question and she didnt even look at me and said yeah you can swap them out I Very negative experience for a store I like, please take a refresher in customer service! read more

I bought my daughter a 100.00 gift card for Christmas At the bend world market. When she went to use her gift card on a chair the card said .0 amount. I then Venmo her the 100.00 because I felt so bad. She gave me the card back with the receipt. I then took both back to the store talked to the manager and so far no response at all. They kept my 100.00 . Needless to say we won't be shopping there again . Pretty disappointed. read more

Employees are very rude. We accidentally arrived just at closing time but rather than saying anything to explain the employee slammed the door quickly and turned her back so she wouldn't have to look us in the eye while we read their Hours of Operation. Our mistake. read more

My favorite store! The staff is really nice and accommodating. They are helpful picking out stuff and very nice about returning items that don't work out. Whenever the line gets long they always get another cashier to the front. Overall, this is one of my favorite stores in Bend! read more

World Market sells a variety of things with styles from around the world, from furniture to flatware to various other misc. items, as well as a limited selection of food items. It's a nice place to shop if you want to find some unique things. read more

I've been shopping for many years at world market and always had a pleasant experience until today. The lady that works in the (bend store) rug department was so very rude. She had no business working with the public. Other customers also noticed. Will be looking for rugs elsewhere. read more

This store is fun to shop in - they have a little of everything. Had a great experience with customer service. My mom and I worked with Shelley- she was terrific and was very helpful with finding items; even showed us merchandise that had just arrived that we would have missed. Was shopping for new curtains, they were having a sale on several styles at 50% off. Found a set I liked, literally there was a sign on the basket for which I selected 2 curtains. When I went to purchase them they rang up full price. When question the sales clerk about it she sent back another sales girl to look. I went with her. She saw that the basket had a large sign on it at 50%. She said the ones I selected were the wrong color and wouldn't honor the sale price. I went back up front to cashier to get a full refund. The clerk called another manager to verify they wouldn't honor the sale since the basket was marked 50% off and he said "no" they wouldn't honor the sale price. So I got a refund! This store is wonderful. The staff is very helpful and polite and I love shopping here. I can find things here at Cost Plus (I am old school and that is what it used to be called! :) ) that I normally cannot find at other stores in Bend. I love all of the ethnic foods, holiday decor, and colorful seasonal home decor like the throw pillows for my chaise lounge chairs. Cost Plus also has a great rewards/ coupon program. read more
