We then learned that cancelling the reservation would result in a $25 per person charge unless it was cancelled at least 24 hours in advance. Based on this policy alone, I would not return to this restaurant. While I understand the reasoning behind it--and recognize that some other restaurants have similar policies--it left a negative impression and was enough to deter me from going back.

There was no apology or compensation for their mistake. To add some garlic powder and Italian herbs should have been required. Garlic bread with cheese was the best thing although cheese wasn't all the way melted.
