Tried to export a Jaguar to Portugal and needed an experienced service provider. We went with GoWorlCargo as we did our due diligence and reviewed each company. We were intrigued by their quote and their service promotion online which states: "When it comes to reliable and experienced shipping services, look no further. We're your trusted partner for a variety of shipping requirements. Our expertise lies in international shipping, freight forwarding, and overseas moving. With a collective experience of over 35 years in the shipping sector, our team has established a robust warehouse network and gained extensive knowledge of freight forwarding. This empowers us to provide an array of international freight transportation and shipping solutions that are tailored to your specific needs."! We then paid the $6,000 plus 2% for credit card charge. We explained that we are relocating to Portugal and needed our car there. Something we hoped that would be included in the agreement was the import broker in Portugal. We had to organize that ourselves. We went with ACP (BCAA of Portugal equivalent!) Done! Then we got the info from the broker that, without residence card (which takes several months to receive) we it would not get a tax exemption and importing the car would cost us up to 30,000 euros import tax. So, either put the car that's worth max CAD$3,000 in storage and wait for the resident card first or rather not import the car at all. 35 years of combined "expertise" and no clue about European imports. This company does not know what they are doing at all! Then they told us that Rotterdam would be better as import location. Hilarious, as we still would have to import the car from the Nederland to Portugal, which still would result in additional and very high Portuguese import tax cost. So, again, no experience at all with relevant import/export rules! I truly wonder how an import/export service is not aware of such very important things! Due to the mentioned issue, we went to the GoWorldCargo office a second time to explain the situation and to cancel the service altogether as we now need the funds in Portugal to buy a car. Carlos told us that the cancellation fee would be CAD$ 250. Later on the phone he stated that "what he meant to say was" that minimum CAD$ 250 and the cancellation fee total would be 25% of the 6,000 dollars we'd paid as per contract fine print. I have a recording of the phone call and his statement about "what he meant to say..."! Luckily there are measures to deal with situations like this! According to contract law GoWorldCargo is in breach of contract as they did not show any knowledge about their promoted services. Possible other consequences are a filling with the Civil Rights Tribunal, the Ombudsman, BBB, and the Consumer Protection Agency. All of these may have a very negative impact on the company. For now, we are still trying to give these guys another chance to move our household goods to Europe at a later date. Momentarily we are waiting for a full reimbursement minus card fee. Initially they were on the ball returning our emails and calls quickly. After we were forced to cancel, pretty much crickets! I'll update this thread as the situation develops. They promised me that, but they didn't do what they promised.. they charged me for nothing.. they didn't send me any confirmation email.. I cancelled my shipment with them because they weren't on time as they promised on phone.. then they charged me a cancellation fees for doing literally nothing. read more

My experience with World Cargo has been the worst experience I have ever had with a company. I would highly recommend NOT using them to move your goods. In a nutshell: Quoted $2350 USD to move a 20' container from Vancouver to Adelaide. Ended up costing around $10,000 CAD and losing several items including a dining table that belonged to my Grandmother. Outside the nutshell: 1. World Cargo increased quoted shipping cost by 30% and only told me when I arrived to drop my goods off. As I was leaving the country in a couple days I had no choice but to continue. I asked to speak to Matt Bryson the manager/owner and he was "in a meeting". I came to find out that Matt is always "in a meeting". 2. World Cargo was incredibly negligent in not informing me that my cargo needed fumigation until after I had dropped my goods off and returned home. This fumigation ended up costing an extra $6000 and delayed the container by several weeks. Matt Bryson also told me, on a phone call, that I would be "very unlucky" to have my container examined at arrival. Turns out that all containers are examined in Australia and I had to have many items quarantined and cleaned at much cost and delay. Had I been informed of this I would have cleaned things myself. My freight forwarding company here in Australia told me that it costs around $400 to fumigate a container. I have had 2 freight forwarding companies in Australia tell me that I have been "extremely overcharged" for fumigation. 3. Items lost include: Dining table (family heirloom), antique game board, 2 boxes of personal items. They have not responded to my requests for an insurance claim despite the fact that I paid them for insurance. 4. They were friendly and helpful right up to the point that I arrived to drop off my goods. From then on it has been countless emails and phone calls with little to no results. I have been unable to get Matt Bryson to return a call or get on the phone despite numerous requests. 5. I was able to speak to Matt a couple times prior to dropping my goods off. However, once things went bad it was impossible to speak to him. One day I called about 40 times during business hours and they refused to pick up the phone. I called with an app that changes my number and they picked up right away. When I asked to speak to Matt I was given the run around several times and was never able to speak to him. 6. The front of the web page states "Avoid Delays and Extra Costs". False advertising. 7. World Cargo appeared somewhat disorganized when I was dropping my good off. I was concerned about how cluttered the warehouse was and how they were going to keep my goods organized to make sure that nothing was missed. Obviously my concerns were well founded. None of my good were labelled when they arrived in Australia. It's not surprising that several items were lost if nothing is labelled or stored neatly. 8. I found the process of finding a shipping company very daunting. I chose World Cargo because they were friendly and helpful in the beginning. However, they have been incredibly terrible once things went bad and I was unable to follow up personally as I had left the country a couple days after dropping off my goods. Once they have possession of your good they can pretty much do what they want and charge what they want and you have to pay or your container doesn't move and accrues storage charges. Please make sure you do your research and find a reputable company. Ask a lot of questions and make sure you are aware of the entire process. read more

!!!! C A U T I O N !!! THIS IS AN SCAMMER COMPANY !!! 1. Was quoted a price but then an additional $500 was added for unmentioned fees. 2. Was told the shipment would be approximately 35 days. They could not locate the shipment for me at 60 days and it finally arrived at 72 days. 3. They did not have the correct information for the receiving company. 4. I was charged an additional $400 dollars in fees at delivery which I was not told about and when I complained to World Cargo, I was told that they were working to make sure this didn't happen to anyone else. 5. The receiving company was a nightmare to deal with and I got absolutely no help from World Cargo. I had to go to the port myself to do the paperwork and get my shipment as their contracted receiver did not have the personnel to do so. I do not recommend this company for shipping. I have several other friends who have used different companies and did not experience these issues. Not a single person I know was charged extra money or had to go to the port. This company handled our move between provinces and I have never had a better experience with a freight company. Everyone was incredibly helpful and professional; they ensured that I had the most up to date information about my shipment and worked with me to ensure that the shipment would arrive at a time when I could meet it. When weather became an issue for the shipment we were immediately notified and arrangements were made for another delivery time. Everything arrived on time and in perfect condition; they made sure everything was wrapped and secured and fit to travel across the country. They provided comptetitive rates but what really made me choose them was the commitement to their customers' satisfaction. I would recommend World Cargo to anyone with shipping needs. The most unprofessional, unorganized company to deal with. Spend a tiny bit more and get the guaranteed service. First of all I had been in email communication regarding rates for two months with ' Matt Bryson', he had given my partner and i different rates but agreed to honour the lower rate. I had told him that we had 2 suitcases, a BIKE box and a snowboard bag. He had quoted us $475 for 80 kg from Vancouver to Sydney. When we finally went to ship our belongings he told us 3 different prices while he was weighing our goods. We only had 60 kg but because of the dimensions of the boxes it would be considering 100kg? Nothing of this was mentioned during email liaison. We forfeited the bike because we could no longer afford it. Then when the shipment arrived no notification was made to the family member on the receiving end. We were also told it would be $28 a day for storage. This was also not true. When our family member went to retrieve the goods, there was a number of paperwork missing and it took her 2 hours to convince them to give her the goods. We had to answer questions over the phone while she was in the customs office. My partner then contacted Matt Byrson regarding this and he said he would get back to us. He didn't even ask for a name or number to follow up. Then four unresponded emails and he finally wrote back asking what the issue was. By this time we were fed up and just cut our losses. used World cargo a few times, each progressively worse.,The one before this the motorcycle crate was wrecked and was told I have to pay again to repair.Motorcycle damaged.huge delays in recieving... and this last time was a complete disaster.Container went on different route than it was supposed to go. went from Canada to Europe to States to central America. ended up going thru States got billed extra 2200 for a supposed inspection . went from a 3700 USD quote ended up around over 7000USD.... and still getting bills.. complete inefficiency and lack of competence in service,and customer care... They've always given great service, and had my things arrive on time. I've sent things airfreight overseas, as well as trucking Vancouver to Calgary. Dealing with this company was about the worst experience I could have had. From having to chase them for my paperwork to having to continually call as they does not return calls to having my crate shipped 150 kilometers away from where I was told it could be picked up. Do not deal with this company. If you get any kind of deal from them will not be worth the aggravation and stress if dealing with them. Worst experience, It started well until they got my money, which include a 825USD insurance to cover my car. My car arrived with a big scratch(down to the primer and across the molding) on the driver's side window, from probably getting in and out with a belt buckle or boots. Plus the bumper got hit hard, hard enough to pop both side off by the fenders. I have been emailing and calling after they ignore my emails. They finally send me a cheque that bounced, saying they were going to pay for while we are still waiting for the insurance, if they ever filled any paperwork at all. I finally talked to Matt, during lunch hours when the receptionist was probably at lunch and took him by surprise because usually he is always " with a client" when I call and that was the only time I was able to talk to him. He said that he was sending another cheque right away.... and I'm still waiting. I ordered the shipping on the 9th of March 2017.... today is the 26th of April 2018 and still nothing. Do yourself a favor and do NOT use this company, you will save yourself a lot of headache as they have no consideration for the client once they have the money plus all the lies and even bad cheque.
