We have only recently needed care for our pets (in the past we always had family members stay) so this was a scary step for us. It's really hard to enjoy a vacation or time away when you're worried about your pets at home. I searched Next Door for options and read about several unfortunate pet sitting situations and then remembered a friend using Furry Godmother several years ago and I was very glad they are still around.
