Absolutely horrible service and customer service. DONT EVER expect anyone to pick up the phone at headquarters. It'll ring for 1 minute say, please hold as everyone is busy, then 30 secs later will try to kick you off the line to leave a message and if you dont hit 2 quick enough it will allow you to leave a message then hang up. If you do hit 2 in time, its says it'll call you back. They call you back 20 seconds later just to put you back on hold then to try an hang up on you again 1 and half minutes later. As for why I originally called, I paid $56 for 2 day express shipping and here we are 4 days later the order says, "yet to be shipped." After an hour of calling every department available of their customer service line, which not a single department answered, they finally sent me a 2 sentence email while im calling them and say oops we dont have then items in stock. Work N Gear is a garbage company who has garbage customer service and ,oh yeah, they have a garbage selection that only fits people under 6'. I will never ever be back as they are a colossal waste of time and I pray for all laborers across all industries that you never go here. Go directly to the source if possible, like Carhartt. Also, they have garbage value; terrible selection where most sizes are unavailable and over-priced. If I could, I'd give zero stars as this company deserves nothing but bankruptcy. read more

I've been to this store twice, once when I was in school and needed scrubs for internship and now starting a new job needed some scrub tops. They have a good selection and many brands and styles to choose from. The sales person was helpful and kept a smile even though every time I had to get back into the dressing room she had to unlock the door. The prices appeared to be average matching what I have seen on the internet. There aren't a lot of uniform stores (brick & mortar) and I am glad this one is close with a nice selection. read more

Customer service is horrible at this location, it really is unfortunate. Not only is it unfortunate it is unbelievable how unprofessional the employees are. They showed more interest in being on their phones than being attentive to customers. I asked a few questions about an item the one employee had an attitude. I didn't get the employees name but I did notice a tattoo on her finger. read more

The personnel at the Work 'N Gear in Melrose Park are the best one could ask for! They are helpful, courteous and always willing to address any questions one might have. I buy my scrubs here and the pricing is competitive. It's the workers who make the difference in where I would go. I would recommend this location to anyone! read more

Wow, this is truly unbelievable. How is it that the employees think it is ok to be rude to a paying customer? Mind you I have been coming here for years. Unfortunately, I'll have to find a different location to purchase my scrubs. The employees are rude and showed more interest in talking to one another as well as being on their phone. The one employee was extremely rude and got really loud with me I didn't get her name but I did note a tattoo on one of her fingers. Are these rude employees really what work n gear stands for? NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. This was my first time buying scrubs and I was so excited, ready to blow any amount of money for the right set. The middle aged woman at the register kept looking at me like I was ruining her day by being there. When I asked her to show me where their smallest fitted scrubs were, she pointed to the ocean of scrubs and said, "Over there somewhere, they'd be XS." No crap, lady. I told her that I had already checked and had issues finding an XS scrub top in the color I needed for my uniform and she said, "WELL GO LOOK." And turned away to talk to her friend who was waiting by the register. It was awful enough that she wouldn't help me, but then she stood there telling her friend that "for being in the medical field, the people who shop here aren't very smart." I was the only person in the store.... Nevertheless, I bought a set I thought were still too big on me, and she wouldn't accept my coupon that I got that day to use at their store. She kept trying to convince me it wasn't for that store but it was LITERALLY the same company at THAT address. Never coming back again. read more

Excellent customer service. The first young lady was very helpful and even knew what the shop had to offer was NOT what I needed. She didn't try to get me to buy something else. I did purchase a lab coat, only to return about two hours later for a credit. I found the missing item, (goggles), at American Science and Surplus and a lab coat that was six dollars cheaper; so I returned the first lab coat. There was a second woman who seemed a bit suspicious of me, (perhaps it's my pensive demeanor - all 5'2" of me), but eventually, she softened and was agreeable, after I explained my first encounter, (which should not have been necessary). All's well that ends well, sort of. Because, I ended up not really purchasing anything from this store, because I found a better price. Still their customer service is worth something and if there was something that I really needed, like a hard hat, (However, I would first check American Science and Surplus first), then if the price were right I would make a purchase at Work 'n Gear. read more

I would like to rate this store, however, it seems that every time I go, they have a habit of locking the doors early! I find this to be unprofessional and rude. Some days they close at 8pm and some days they close at 6pm. Every time I have gone (which has been at least 3 times), it seems to be right before closing and someone runs to immediately look the door. Last time, I arrived around 5:45pm to just to buy a pair of scrub pants and I saw an employee come to lock the door. From the window, it looks like they have a good selection for scrubs. They are one of the few uniform stores in the area. Based on these multiple experiences, it seems that they are in a hurry to leave and do not believe in sales or good customer service. From a business perspective, you should not close the store earlier than listed. read more

I am usually an easy going person and thus is the first time I ever complain about customer service at ANY store. I walked into the Work N Gear in Melrose Park, tonight at exactly 7:59pm, hours say until 8 which I didn't know. There was a customer in the store STILL looking around and a security officer open the door, as I was walking in the store, the employee at the register screams "It's eight o clock we are closed. " when I say screams I mean screams to a point that the security guard (I'm not sure if he works there or was just another shopper coming in at the same time) says wow that was rude. I know that we all have our bad days, but should frustration really be taken out on a customer in this matter? I knew exactly what I wanted scrubology scrubs in a light blue size medium bottom, small top,, I knew where they were located, it would have taken 1 minute maybe less as I was also in a rush. As i drove off the other shopper was still in the store looking. read more
