Work Evolution is a gem. As a creative I found that all the other workspaces were too sterile for me. As soon as I walked into the building, I knew this one was the right one for me. The owners have a clear appreciation for local art and culture which is reflected throughout the space. There's a perfect blend of socializing in the common areas, yet quiet in the work area (imperative if you're as easily distracted as I am). Perks -- free coffee, chill but professional people, natural light, amazing views (especially at sunset), great central Downtown location, several conference room hours included with all monthly plans (and if there's no one renting it, they'll occasional let you use it for free -- ex: for a phone call/video conference). Definitely a good spot to get work done outside of the house. And at this price point, it's practically a steal. read more

The company will charge you and will not give you what you pay for and they will withhold information to take your money without providing a service. I started with them and I have not been able to pick out a desk or use the office once. I started with them on June of 2019. The company charged me for several months and did not inform me I needed to pick a desk or I would need a key to use the facilities. I found out I needed that in July after I had already paid for June. I asked them to put my membership on hold until I could come in and pick a desk and get a key and they still charged me. They are all about money and not providing a great service experience or any experience at all. I talked with the owner about getting a key He said he would call me back but her never did. Check for a workspace elsewhere because they don't provide any real services and thy may not be a real company. I believe they are a shell company without any spaces available from my interactions with them. Either that or everything is already rented out and they can't provide me with a desk. I have rented and office before and I was informed of everything and I actually was able to use the office when I wanted. I now regret moving from where I was before and coming to this company so I could be closer to my home. read more

I love this place. I was going stir crazy with this lock down and was really happy to see the wide open space with more than enough room to be 6 feet apart and still have friendly conversation. I am hooked. Plus there is $5 all day parking across the street. read more

I was here for a training over the weekend recently. This place is a no-no. 1. A/C doesn't work. 2. Too much noise from around. 3. Seating arrangement was not good. Not comfortable chairs. 4. Projection screen was small. Couldn't read the presentation. 5. Place looks iffy. 6. Place smells. 7. Bathroom stinks. 6. Light glaring from all the side windows, couldn't read the presentation. WE Labs is an integral part of Long Beach culture. A huge supporter of tech and arts in the city, WE Labs has become so important to LB life that I can't imagine what it'd be like without it. I work here occasionally with a day pass and also attend the monthly writing workshop called The Poetry Lab. There are many evening events going on in the space each month and most are free and open to the public. Additionally, there is a large pool of talented entrepreneurs and business minds that inhabit the space during the regular work week. It's an inspiring place to be and great environment to get work done. If you're starting a new project as a freelancer, or a company looking for a new headquarters WE Labs is the place. I love WE Labs! I have been a member of WE Labs for a few months now with a dedicated desk space, and it has been a great experience. We Labs is great. I have tried many co-working spaces (multiple We Work location, and Next Space in Culver City and SF) and this is by far my favorite. It is not as glamorous as We Work, but it still has amenities, an excellent staff, good networking opportunities, and a great community. Because it is a local non-profit, the people who run We Labs are really flexible and great to work with. They are by far the most member focused of all the co-working locations I have ever worked out of. The environment is pretty clean, and the windows and views are exceptional. WE Labs is such an awesome space. And I say space, not place, because space invokes the feeling of ambiance in addition to the physical location. I started out with a day pass on a slow Saturday when I went to do some grading. (Part time teacher) I live in a studio about five blocks away and can't seem to concentrate there because of all of the distractions--the tv, my bed, my cat... Also, I do not have AC and it gets scorching hot in there. When it's a 100 degrees outside, it's 105 degrees inside my studio. Ugh! So I go into Liquidspace to find a temporary office that I could use for the day and came across WE Labs. And there I found myself, checking in at the front desk and meeting Robbie. Robbie is a co-founder of WE Labs and an all around great human being. I really liked working in the common area and I got a lot done, so I began to inquire about the possibility of bringing my tutoring business "STEM Discovery Tutoring" into WE Labs. I don't own a car, so my clients and I had to meet in cafes all around downtown long beach which was a huge pain in its own right! Robbie cheerfully answered all of my questions, gave me a tour, and a rundown on the different memberships and their prices. I loved that he took me seriously--being an Hispanic woman tutoring physics and calculus, one encounters a great deal of skepticism. So I try out the full membership for a month and fall in love with WE Labs. I started tutoring there, got my own business mailing address along with my membership and all of my students and their parents began to compliment me on how professional my office was. Giving off a professional vibe to the parents is of major importance. The one month turned into two, then three, and finally, I went up a notch in my membership by getting a dedicated office space. WOW!!! Now I wake up in the morning very much looking forward to getting over to WE Labs, and my office, and all of the laid back, awesome people who hang around here. I am insanely productive and it shows in my school teaching as well as in my private tutoring business which has flourished since joining WE Labs because of word of mouth of the parents. I am so happy here! There is even more that you have to discover as WE Labs is not just a coworking space. They hold events that are downright inspirational. I feel like I did when I was 20 (as a student at UC Berkeley) in terms of my idealist values and my potential to affect positive change in the world, and I'm almost 40! It's THAT good! read more

This place is amazing. I've only been here for the bbq show radio recordings/broadcastings and the lip service radio recordings/broadcasting. The staff and those that frequent this place that I've come across are always very nice, friendly, and helpful. This is a place that is used for many different purposes. The office space can be used for meetings, gatherings, or just if you want peace and quiet to get your work done, you name it and you can just about do it here. The office itself is on the 8th floor and is very unique. I don't know who decorates the place but it has a home-y artsy feel to it. On the walls are local paintings and art sculptures that are on display and can be purchased if one was so inclined. Bathrooms are very clean and always fully stocked. Parking directly below is normally $5 for the day but you can go a few blocks over to walmarts structure and park free for two hours. If not they're are plenty of meters and self park and pay stations across the street. read more

WE Labs, a communal workspace in DTLB, is a writer's best friend. I've worked as a professional writer since 1997. Have had home offices and an office, but neither place solved the basic need many writers and artists have for community. Not online communities, we have buckets of those. Real, water cooler type communities. WE Labs in Long Beach has been the only place during my writing career that provides a great work environment. Wired and wireless, plenty of clean, well designed open space. Incredible views of Long Beach and LA from all windows. A kitchen for previously mentioned water cooler. But WE Labs big plus are the people who also work here. First, they really work here, and at times really play. The mix is creative--music industry, marketing, iOS coders, artists--and writers. The owners have managed just the right balance space, time and energy for work. It's one of those things we recognize when it's just right because so often it's just wrong. I've been a member at WE Labs for almost two years now. I can't emphasize how much being a member here has contributed to my success as an entrepreneur (piano teacher/online business) and as a musician. The community is highly supportive of the arts which sets them apart from all other co-working spaces I've ever heard of or been to. It really says a lot about the staff to create and nurture such an environment of supportive members all around. I call this place "the adult's playground" because it is a place where I can be creative, and at the same time have all the resources I need at my fingertips to make my ideas come alive. I first walked in to WELabs with an idea and dream of running a full time teaching business, and here I am now living it out, thanks in huge part to the supportive community.
