As for me, I drove my wife 35+ miles to shop at this twee little place that had a "three customers only" Covid admission note. As my wife and I stepped in, a staffer said that one of us would have to stay outside. I went back to sit in the car. Nobody else arrived or left. Just then a middle-aged lady arrived, went inside, and was apparently asked to stay outside. A few seconds later a staffer bobbed her head out and invited the lady in. Apparently the "three customers only" rule is in force only if you are male. Or somebody mysteriously dematerialized. I won't be coming back. By the way, this experience is like one we had at a fabric joint in Occoquan, VA, run by a jittery woman. So I'm done venturing into fabric stores with my wife.

It took us almost six months to make it out there on a Saturday, but we went last weekend in search of yarn for a hat he wants to make. We were both impressed with the shop. Lana, the owner, is delightful and super helpful. She asked which of us was the knitter and didn't assume it was me (it is both! But he was the shopper that day!) and she spent a bunch of time showing him options based on what parameters he gave. While they searched I went off on my own looking at the selection and saw she has a really good variety of both workhorse standards and some luxury brands as well. When hubby wasn't sure if he would need 2 or 3 balls due to ambiguity in how the pattern requirements were described, she said if he bought 3 and didn't use the last one he could return it - that is very rare! I suspect he could make something from the third if he doesn't use it anyway but it was very kind of her to offer. She has a cute and very chill pup hanging out at the store with her and many samples to see how various yarns knit up. Honestly if I hadn't gone completely off the rails buying 3 sweater quantities at Alpaca & Fleece last month I would have bought a bunch for myself too when we were there. Next time!

Two people involved in counting and cashiering is a recipe for mistakes (whether accidental or deliberate). In our case, it cost us $5.35 more than it should have on a roughly $40 purchase, which we had no way of determining until we got home and audited the receipt (since they put all the loose beads in one bag mixed together). They failed to charge us for $1 of product, but simultaneously charged us too much per bead for one item (.25 instead of .20/ea.) and for too many of another kind of bead (8 instead of 2). There are other places to buy beads and we likely won't be going back.

We loved it so much, we bought multiple for family and friends (a great gift for those recently engaged). We also had custom dog bowls made. Doug instantly knew a great design where they could stamp little paw prints along the rim of the bowls. Everything we have gotten from them has been great. It's all very high quality, reasonably priced (considering everything is hand made locally; remember, it's not Target), and eloquently designed.
