As a first-time homeowner, one of the things that honestly had me second-guessing buying a house…read morewas the yard work. I work in healthcare and routinely put in 12-14 hour days, so the last thing I want to do when I get home is spend my free time mowing, weed eating, and maintaining a yard. I can't even remember the last time I cut grass--it was probably when I was in high school, and let's just say I'm getting pretty close to the half-century mark now! When I moved into my new home, the yard was overgrown and needed immediate attention. I reached out to Yard Dad Services, and Raphael responded the very same day. He came out quickly, provided a fair and reasonable estimate, and got the job done fast. Now Raphael and his crew come by every two weeks, and I couldn't be happier. The quality of work is excellent, the pricing is fair, and the reliability gives me one less thing to worry about. Thank you, Raphael and Yard Dad Services, for making homeownership a little easier and a lot less stressful. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for dependable, affordable lawn care. I'll definitely be referring my friends and family!

The experience was absolutely awful. If you need yard work done, avoid this company at all costs…read more They have poor customer service and provide dishonest quotes. They lure you in with a discounted price and verbally promise to complete all work. Once on‑site, they cut corners. Tasks they verbally agreed to include were later claimed to be excluded from the service. To make matters worse, they threatened to call the police if I did not pay. They even claimed they did not inspect the backyard during their quote visit. Excuse me? We explicitly mentioned both front and back yards over the phone, and they confirmed the price covered both yards. I have hired numerous yard‑work contractors before, and this is by far my worst experience. Because their cleanup was incomplete, we requested them to come back for re‑cleaning. After an argument, they did show up to do the additional work. However, during this follow‑up cleanup, they still refused to perform the bush-cutting and debris‑removal they had verbally promised. When we followed up to check on the status, they completely ignored our messages and only kept demanding payment. Too busy to argue further, we simply paid the bill to resolve the situation. Since we do not live at that property, we were vulnerable to their tactics. Full of pitfalls. Stay far away. I am writing this off as an expensive lesson.

The next day they came out and we were waiting on the sod. They are really highly self motivated. While waiting they just started to weed back and edge my front yard. The sod showed up and they went straight to work on the installation. These guys worked their back sides off. They had extra sod, so they prepped another area and installed the rest of the sod. It went from $500 trim to $1700 to cut tree down and remove the stump. He said he could not remove the stump that day but would come back. After several days of not hearing from him, I texted him and told him the stump needed to be removed and to not grind it down. I told him I need to put a tree back in that spot because HOA requires it. He said just put the tree somewhere else which I do not want to do since I had a beautiful stone wall built around the tree and flower beds. First, it would look ridiculous and second, my yard is too small to put the tree somewhere else outside of the flower beds He was worried about breaking the wall. I told him to try not to but if I had to get repaired I would. After not hearing from him again, my son-in-law called him. He called me after that very rude and said he didn't appreciate some man calling him. I asked for a refund of the stump removal cost several times since and he will not return my call or respond to my texts or phone calls. I would never recommend this man or company to anyone!!!

On three occasions, we made appointments with Eugene, the owner of the company, and all three times he stood us up. I get it, the guy is so "GOOD" that everyone is hiring him and he has no time for new projects. We live in Denton. The third time we made the appointment, I asked him if he was interested in our project or should we look for someone else. When I finally heard back from him, he asked us to give him another chance and assured us that he was going to honor his word. After three times of waiting for him to show and he never called to reschedule or explain himself, we decided to move on. Lesson learned! You cannot always trust the reviews and comments people are leaving. Because what is too good to be true... is NOT true. In retrospect, I am glad that it happened at this point rather than after he started the work and leaving us hanging.
