The guy behind the counter was more interested in his conversation with his co-worker and got frustrated when I asked about bundle prices since they weren't marked (it's the price per item in the cooler - no bundle discounts). Then he seemed frustrated that I was looking at all the meat they offered. The grey bacon in the case didn't look appealing, so I passed on that... I ended up purchasing a 6 pound box of breakfast sausage and 5 pounds of ground round. I should have checked the price tag - they charged me 50 cents more per pound and called it chuck instead of round. Ugh!

The fish sandwich was a little different than what I expected. They added a slice of cheese to it, and instead of being a full filet, it was more like fish nuggets on the sandwich. I'm personally more of a filet fish sandwich type of person, but even with that, it was still good and I really don't have anything negative to say about it. This isn't really a dine-in type of spot -- it's more of a place where you place your order, pick it up, and keep it moving. One thing I did like is that they also sell fresh fish you can bring home and cook yourself. I noticed a lot of people ordering their smoked salmon while I was waiting on my food. I didn't try it this time, and honestly, I probably should have. That definitely seemed like one of the popular items there. Customer service was good, and overall it was a solid experience. If I'm ever back in Saginaw, I'd definitely come back and try more items off the menu.

Having left Kroger on a morning shopping trip we realized how hungry we are and the fact we hadn't yet stopped in to Aces. We grabbed a table and ordered big. The fish taco was most acceptable, the ribs were good, the brisket was particularly tender and tasty. The bacon mac was good even in this day and age when everyone and their brother is offering their take on mac and cheese and the rib tips were a lovely mess. This would be a great spot to grab a cheap lunch.

Our server was the other, but she was pulled between several tables on our side and a large party in the other dining room. In spite of that, she still managed to serve us well when she was available. The kitchen runner who also functioned as host had his earbuds in, so when trying to let him know about missing items, he simply kept walking, unable to hear us. The food seemed a little off. We had been here before and it just wasn't the same. The kitchen brought the items out at various times, but between the actual plates, the tortillas and the guacamole, at least ten minutes went by. I am not sure we would have gotten it all, had we not asked about it. We had to ask for hot sauce separately, because that is no longer provided on the tables. It arrived when we were basically done eating. It was a disappointing visit.

The reason why I gave it two stars is because my total was $17 for two drinks... lol As a Miami local, these prices are way too high for a town like Grand Blanc but worth the splurge once in a while. Maybe they can switch to containers that are less nice to combat the expense of the drink?
