I ordered the 10-piece shrimp along with their fish sandwich and fries from Huron Fish Market. Overall, everything was seasoned pretty well and tasted good. The fish sandwich was a little different than what I expected. They added a slice of cheese to it, and instead of being a full filet, it was more like fish nuggets on the sandwich. I'm personally more of a filet fish sandwich type of person, but even with that, it was still good and I really don't have anything negative to say about it. This isn't really a dine-in type of spot -- it's more of a place where you place your order, pick it up, and keep it moving. One thing I did like is that they also sell fresh fish you can bring home and cook yourself. I noticed a lot of people ordering their smoked salmon while I was waiting on my food. I didn't try it this time, and honestly, I probably should have. That definitely seemed like one of the popular items there. Customer service was good, and overall it was a solid experience. If I'm ever back in Saginaw, I'd definitely come back and try more items off the menu. read more

Being a native Rhode Islander (also know as The Ocean State), I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to sourcing local and fresh fish. Huron Fish has become my go-to place for meeting this need, and I have no desire to search for another. I'm wholly satisfied. These guys know their stuff. They were extremely useful in helping me learn the local fish after moving to Michigan and explaining the best (and most delicious) ways to cook them. I like that some accompanying items are available for sale as well. As far as pricing goes, it seems reasonable to me. Good food isn't cheap - something many don't understand with the garbage you see in some stores - and I have had no issues with what they charge at Huron. I haven't tried their takeaway/already cooked food yet, but I've heard good things and will definitely give it a go sometime soon! read more

Wouldn't go again! We were excited to try this place out. Started with an unfriendly counter clerk. Got to the park to eat our carry out cod and walleye dinners. Looked okay. First bites... Cod--okay, little greasy, fry oil did not taste fresh, batter thick in places. Walleye--mostly batter, fish minimal, very dry much like white fish. Did we get the wrong order??? Coleslaw--warm, not even slightly cool, didn't trust eating it. Twice baked potato--not good, dry, think they had been around a while. One star is only for tartar sauce and lemon slice. This place is so amazing, the young man behind the fish counter told me I could get my fish fried right here on the spot. I am so happy I listened to his suggestion, he was so helpful in helping me figure out what fish to purchase! The white fish and cod were some of the best fish I've had. Sitting in our vehicle eating in pure Bliss I look over and see the owner pulling fresh smoked salmon out of the smoker and tell my lady that I've never had it fresh and warm.... With my mouth watering, the owner walks towards me with a big juicy piece of salmon and GAVE it to me! Right in the middle of lunch hour and him being so busy, he then walked inside to get me napkins and a fork and brought it right to my car window. By then my hands were full of fish fat and I had finished half of it it was so amazing it put me into a food coma. To get service like that these days is hard to come by. I appreciate it so much I will be a life long customer of Huron fish co. I will drive the hour from Lansing to get my fish from now on. For the last few months I've been on a quest to find the best fish 'n' chips in the area. I'd like to declare that my quest has ended! I stopped here for lunch today and ordered the fried tilapia dinner and it was outstanding! The fish was not overly greasy, but had a great flavor and was moist and flaky. I also picked up some fresh salmon fillets for the grill tonight. Their seafood selection is excellent and very fresh! You can only get takeout, so don't expect to sit at a table and eat. Would definitely recommend Huron Fish Co. to anyone who loves/likes seafood! read more

I have never had a takeaway from Huron Fish. I ordered a Dinner and I was beyond pleasantly surprised. I opened the container and it was such a nice surprise to see so much and it all looked so fresh and I started to enjoy the Dinner and every bite was better than the last one. The meal had fresh lemon slices, coleslaw was cold and crisp and just so flavorful. My fish was so good, it tasted so good . I will definitely go back, I just wish I would have tried them sooner! I've been looking forward to the fish from here for some time and it didn't disappoint. The prices have gone up a little since the menu was posted on the page, but its still worth it. I went there this weekend in hopes of finding some decent littleneck clams in the area and Huron's exceeded my expectations! I was a little surprised at the cost, but am used to seafood costs on the east coast which are significantly lower. The majority of the clams were on the larger side and had excellent flavor. I also bought some prawns which were huge,tender, and flavorful. It looked like some of the fish fillets were frozen, which was a bit disappointing because I was hoping to find a place that sold fresh, unfrozen fish fillets. Either way, I'll definitely be back at least for clams and other shellfish! read more

The fish is great, but don't go here unless you like rude and entitled employees. I just returned back from a visit: After waiting without acknowledgement for 5+ minutes, a very unhappy guy begrudgingly took my order. He skinned my salmon after I asked him not to, and then expected a tip despite being rude and not doing his job. The total was $11.95. I handed him $12. He held the money in his hand and said, "$11.95." I said, "There's $12 there." He just stood there. No change, no receipt, no nothing -- just sitting there with his hand out asking for more money. I waited nearly 5 minutes for someone to pick up the phone and when I repeated my question I was hung up on. I tried calling back and I was hung up on a second time... I never lost my temper. I am a big fan of Huron Fish Co and I am glad we have them in our town. Unfortunety I had a bad experience today. I went in after 3 & asked for 2 lbs of turkey jerkey. A guy came out from the back and told me I should call on Monday for that much jerky. He made me feel like shit. What I didn't tell him because I was so upset that I was there on Monday. The guy said they were almost out of jerky & would be smoking it on Wednesday & it would be ready after 3. I had told him I wanted 2 lbs & I would wait & get it on Wednesday.
