The establishment itself is quite large with plenty of free parking and a very convenient location on Yale Road. The staff are quite pleasant and attentive. And I like that they have several lunch specials all with 3 options and for $9. That is the good. Unfortunately the food is not great. The previous reviews and photos of the chow mein are accurate...it is plain noodles with a little dry shredded chicken on top. There was very little flavour to the honey garlic pork and the lemon chicken was a fried mess. I would not recommend Canton Garden if looking for Chinese food in the Chilliwack area.

First time visiting this Chinese buffet restaurant. Buffet restaurants are slowly coming back…read moreafter the pandemic and we were very pleased to find this one. There is ample parking with few spots left. The restaurant was packed and contrary to previous reviews, there was no tour bus filling this restaurant for the dinner rush, it was filled with people of all ages including a number of Asian families - always a good sign of authentic cuisine. The restaurant was clean. The ambience was humming with conversation. The staff are friendly, quick, and very busy filling up buffet items, cleaning up after diners, or bringing out clean plates and cutlery. The place was hopping at when we arrived at 5pm and remained so after we left at 7pm . The prices were very good for an all-you-can-eat buffet meal at $19 for lunch and $24 for dinner for an adult - Consistent with current meal prices. This is a very large buffet with 60 items to choose from and the taste is typical Hong Kong - Caucasian style Chinese cuisine. Simple classic dishes, meat, veg, starch, 2 soups (won ton and sweet and sour) desserts of classic fortune, wafer, maple cookies as well as oatmeal sugar free cookies, jello, cake, and 8 flavours of ice cream with a sugar free option. We tried a little of every dish. The one problem we find with a lot of buffets is food tends to dry out or overcook under the heat lights. This buffet was no exception. While the meal was good, if you are looking for fantastic - it would be best to order your dishes cooked to order and not at a buffet. Some of the food items were dated with heavy coatings - not surprising since this restaurant opened in 1987 and is a staple in Chilliwack. It is definitely worth a visit and go soon, as I understand the original owners, great-grandparents now, still cook and are looking to retire so this place is for sale. We hope this restaurant still exists when we visit again in a year as we would return. Overall, a very filling meal, perfect for a quick dinner you do not have to wait for. Recommendations - sweet and sour pork, garlic pork, shrimp stir fry, chicken legs, button mushrooms, both soups, and ice cream

The bulgogi was flavorful, and balanced with vegetable in addition to meat. My husband ordered the dolsot bibimbap which was delicious as well. Disclaimer: The walls also show that if you give a 5-star review on Google, you get a free spring roll. I'm sorry, bribing your customers with free food does not seem right to me, so while I'd normally be more on the fence about whether my 4.5 star experience should be rounded up to 5, this bit of dishonesty makes me feel compelled to bring it down to 4.

I placed an order on their website and it was canceled without any explanation, so I placed the order again and it was canceled again. It appears the order may have been canceled because I selected "Pay in person" and did not provide a phone number, but both of these were options allowed by their system. The website clearly offers "Pay in person," and since I was paying with cash, I selected it as intended. If unpaid orders are not accepted, then this option should not be available. Similarly, if a valid phone number is required, this should be clearly stated or enforced through proper verification instead of canceling orders without notice. I also explicitly requested to be contacted by email, yet no email was sent before canceling my orders. The food itself is good, but canceling orders without explanation or any attempt at communication is unprofessional. Based on this experience, I will not return and would not recommend this restaurant to others.

A woman customer came over to me on the way out and said there are new owners and the place had gone down hill and that I should find another place. There were no other customers. I had wonton noodle soup which was lukewarm and the wontons were skimpy and falling apart. I always have red hot sauce and asked for some. A small dish came so I asked for chopsticks as I only had a spoon. Chopsticks and an napkin came after a wait so the soup was even colder. I went to pay and they charged me for the red hot sauce, $2.00. I have only eaten chinese food for about 60 years now and actually worked down in Vancouver Chinatown for about 10 years. This is the first time I have been charged for hot chili sauce. It was the tip money.
