We booked a Happy Hour reservation for the long Sunday Easter long weekend at 4:30pm and we were the first to arrive. As Salt & Brick has an evolving fresh sheet menu, you never know what's on the menu but they usually have a few staples like their Brussel sprouts. As this was my boyfriend's first time here, we ordered the Brussell sprouts with popcorn and the Rigatoni. We were given the regular menu but did inquire about Happy Hour and the Brussel sprouts, pastas, and charcuterie board were on special. Unfortunately, they didn't have any oysters available that day. Small cozy atmosphere with a cute front porch. It's a small bar and kitchen that you can see and wonderful that you see and hear all the food being freshly made to order. Our server was friendly, chatty, and attentive but also gave us our space too. The Brussel sprouts served with cheddar popcorn, grapes, and ripped beer cheese is a bit salty, sweet, and so satisfying! My partner doesn't love Brussel sprouts but really enjoyed this dish. The Rigatoni was a bit rich with a nettle became sauce but served with the earthy lily spears, it was a well rounded dish altogether that we also enjoyed. Cute restaurant on the Downtown main strip that isn't a major chain, which is refreshing. Will continue to visit next time in town and hopefully they will have oysters then!

(Bibimbap) and some true Italian (Gnocchi and homemade Pasta) with the rest being slight variants of both. We had the Burrata salad with greens and roasted and fresh tomatoes (nicely skinned) with Pesto, Pune Nuts and a balsamic dressing. It was beautiful but needed more salt and acid to tame down the Burrata. Still a nice salad. We split the Patate Fritte which was fried potatoes and gnocchi with a really flavorful Chipotle Mayo. The whole dish didn't work. The gnocchi were over fried and too small to eat with the much larger potatoes which were also underdone. The Tuna Poke Bowl was very nice (and a good deal) with all of the usual components. The Salmon was cooked perfectly (crispy on the outside slightly translucent inside ) and came with a wasabi cream, lots of roasted veggies (potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans) and somewhat random things like cornichons, caper berries, and beets. The whole thing worked but would have been better with some editing. I personally wanted more wasabi in the cream and wished that it didn't get watered down by all the veggies. They have a nice cocktail list and a decent list of wines by the glass, several local all fairly priced. The place is modern looking with windows overlooking downtown streets in two sides. The place is very modern with lots of metal and concrete and consequently lots of energy and lots of noise. I see this as a great space for a bunch of friends, less so for a romantic dinner. Overall I liked this place. It could be better and I would return. I love what they are aiming for.

We went on a Wednesday and were hoping for their Wednesday special of Beef Wellington, but they were already sold out, so we settled for prime rib, which was some of the best I've had. It's served with traditional Anju and horseradish and some delicious mashed potatoes. For a starter, I had the seared scallops, which were perfectly done without being overcooked, but with a nice sear on the outside. The wine list has some extremely thoughtful selections, and it's fun the way that every wine includes a listing of how far the winery is from the restaurant. Of course, there are plenty of selections from the Okanagan, but we couldn't resist a bottle of Molly Duke or Blue Eyed Boy, an Australian wine that you don't see around here too often. Service was excellent.

Since After searching on Yelp ... we came with anticipation and we were totally blown away with their various dishes!! The dining room is bright and has a youthful ambiance! I always have a soft spot for Ma Po Tofu ( a Szechuan Spicy Tofu dish ) and I am happy to report that it was super delicious ... too bad it was only two of us and we couldn't order too many other dishes! But I am glad I ordered my fav dish! The Spicy Wonton is also done just right, not too spicy and the filling still very juicy and the wonton wrappings were super smooth in texture! I also liked their version of Singapore Style Fried Rice Vermicelli .. not greasy at all and have the distinctive " Wok Hei"! Overall, this is a great addition to the local Asian food scene, run by very friendly family ... in times like these, its important to support small local business! Since its just across from the Kelowna Airport ... its super convenient to hop off the plane and order yourself authentic dim sum and enjoy some fruity green tea!!

Happy I called to verify whether dim sum was avail on a Sunday morning (website states 4-8:30). Quite happy they serve congee (chicken or pork w/ preserved egg), which satisfied my "Chinese craving". Dishes we ordered satisfied our dim sum craving...flavours were okay, but definitely the place to go in between visits to Richmond or Toronto. Service was good, considering they were busy, and it appeared the lady was running around with more haste and expertise than the young man. Having grown up in Toronto and had dim sum from San Francisco, Vancouver, and Hong Kong, this place may not be best in comparison but love that they are avail to satisfy that dim sum craving while in the Okanagan!
