Best BBQ we have had in a VERY long time, and certainly the best anywhere near us in greater SW…read moreHouston. The meats were juicy. smoky and seasoned incredibly well. We espercially liked the turkey and the pulled pork. Even the sides were awesome! We had the potato salad and baked beans. The staff were very patient and helpful for first time guests (like us). The restaurant itself was very clean, and wait staff cleaned tables very fast to keep the flow going. The prices were just right for quality BBQ. A regular plate of food was priced $20-$25, but you can get a small plate for $10-15 that's great for lunch. We will definitely be back!

Haven't been here since 2020, but i thought it was just okay this time. My favorite brisket in…read moreHouston is still from Pinkerton's. Prices have def gone up since 2020, but that's expected (prices are still reasonable). Seemed pretty busy with take-out orders, but i wouldn't go out of my way, honestly. MEAT PLATE WITH 2 SIDES ($32 because I added extra meat) - sliced brisket ($20)- dry. I could already tell by looking at it. On a positive note, it was lean and not fatty. - jalapeno sausage ($5)- good. Tad spicy. - added ribs ($7 for 2)- ok. Not fall off the bone. - buttered red potatoes- good - mac n cheese- good but not as good as I remembered. Small plate + 1 side ($9) - turkey + coleslaw For my mom. Coleslaw was good. I didn't try the turkey. Seemed like kind of a small portion for $9. Chopped brisket potato ($15) -dad enjoyed it. It was huge and lasted him 2 meals. Prob the best bang for ur buck

Killen's never disappoints…read more Their beef ribs were just short of amazing. Juicy, succulent, tender. For a giant piece of meat on the bone, they worked wonders. You can ask to see the piece of rib before they cut it for you and they will happily oblige (patrons behind you might not be so thrilled with that move, but they'll live). Sides were excellent as were the mashed potatoes with white gravy on the side, green beans that were just tender enough, but also a bit crunchy. Perfect. They were seasoned with pork, so if that's not your thing, you might want to skip it. We also ordered their shareable onion rings, easily enough for three people that were huge, hot, and crispy. Let's get this out of the way, some of their prices are a little up there, but if you're anything like me, and don't frequent BBQ places often, it's a rare but enjoyable treat. Sometimes you have to splurge and live a little. Also, they have their regular sauce on tables, but you now have to ask the cashier for their sublime coffee BBQ sauce. Don't be shy, ask. It's worth it. Oh, pro tip: If you want beef ribs, the 'plate' is actually cheaper and a better deal than 'by the pound', so save a little money and get two sides.

Overall, still pretty good to satisfy the BBQ craving. Honestly, the brisket was off-par from my past dining experiences at Killen's, which have been many. While center was moist, the brisket crust was a bit over done and chewy. Ribs and sausage were great as usual. They have so many sides to choose and we ordered the potato salad and broccoli cheese casserole which was delicious. It's been a minute since my last visit so I was disappointed that the warm coffee bbq sauce was no longer available - Hoping they bring it back soon. Ample parking and seating inside. The staff seemed more transactional than I remember but they keep the tables and floors clean.
