First off I want to say that the gentleman at the counter was super friendly and courteous ( at the Sugarland farmers market) . As far as the food.... I just got half a pound of brisket but let me tell you . It disappointed. My family member got a bad stomach ache from it and said it didn't taste right. I didn't believe him so I ate some as well. It was worse for me, I never had such a bad stomach ache and nausea/vomiting from bbq before . Suffice to say I will not be returning unfortunately . I don't know if I got a bad batch but I do not want to risk it again . Update: it is the next day and we for sure got food poisoning :( . Just an FYI in case you are willing to risk it . read more

Every time we go to big 6 the barbecue is amazing. The worker is always friendly. Prices are ok. Lately I have not Big 6 trailer on Hwy.6

The brisket was like butter. Chicken sausage was delicious with that crispy snap when you bite into it. The people are wonderful. Get the potato salad! All the respect to them and anyone who makes food like that in a friggin food truck. read more

We attended a neighborhood event that Big 6 catered. We're glad we went because Big 6 was very good and we got to meet a lot of our neighbors, very nice people. The brisket was very tender and oh so tasty, the sausage and the chicken drum stick was just as good, the beans and tater salad were very good. Now I need to visit their food trailer, they're bookmarked already. read more

Awesome tasting bbq. Large plates and sides at a reasonable price. Baked potato, slaw, potato salad, pickles, sausage, brisket, etc read more

Can't decide between a three or a four stars. The food was ordered on a delivery app. Let's start with the bad. The mac and cheese is kind of dry and not creamy. The potato salad is in a four oz cup. It also could be pre-made/store bought. My husband said it should have been double for the price. The bbq sauce was also a small portion but good a little watery. Ok now the positives. The sausage, brisket, and chicken were a good portion. The peach cobbler my husband really enjoyed. We ordered because we haven't had bbq in awhile and wanted to order from a BOB. The presentation was also nicely done for my plate. The sides matter too. They were lacking. After reheating the meats were dry and the brisket was bland. read more

Big "6" Bar-B-Que - 3 meat plate. Dark Meat chicken, brisket, and sausage. Yummerz... - Barbeque Near Me - Sugar Land, Texas

5 stars for Big 6 and I haven't even tasted the meat yet!!! Meat and I are not the best of friends right now but I will order their meat in the near future! The dishes look scrumptious! So, let me just say that this place has a few items that could be priced cheaper but I'm still going to order them because they are good! I have just ordered the sides from them and a peach cobbler. You can choose the size of your sides, 6 oz, 8 oz, 16 oz, 24 oz, and 32 oz. Something like that. Keep in mind that the small sides are really small. They say 6 oz but it looks like 4 oz. The sizes are perfect for me. Mac and cheese- I don't know why I loved this Mac so much other than it was hot and creamy! So yummy and good. So good! Yams- pockets of brown sugar goodness in between the yummy yams! So delicious and not too sweet. I like my yams on the sweet side but these are perfect. Corn- buttery, smoky, and delicious Peach cobbler- I ate mine cold and it was SoOoOO good. The right amount of peaches and crust! I inhaled this! I will be frequenting them! read more

First time I got boudin link which was delicious the. I came back same day and decided to give the plate a chance. My service second time coming back wasn't as pleasant as it was the first time, I didn't know they closed at 8 and came about 10 mins before the time and definitely sensed an attitude which made me not even want to continue with my purchase. I got the two meat plate brisket and sausage with potato salad and "smoked corn". The sausage was 5/10 , brisket 6/10 the smoked corn just gave me canned corn vibes nothing unique about it and the potato salad was okay in flavor. I would only return for the boudin. I'll pass on the bbq wasn't impressed. read more

Ordered the 1 meat Jumbo potato thru the Uber Eats app, I ordered a loaded potato, which I didn't receive. The potato was bulky, not soft, no cheese, no chives and 1oz container of sour cream. 1- 1oz side of bbq sauce and 1- 2oz side of bbq sauce. This is what I find food establishments are doing, they are taking short cuts promising one thing but yet you receive something different. I paid $20 + $6 tip, this is way too much for 1 person for lunch. Therefore, only 1 star from me. I wish I had taken a pic. read more

TLDR: Standard with a few standouts. Standouts: -Homemade Sausage -Smoked Beans -Potato Salad ***Full Review*** Arrival: Weekday 12:30 p.m. Order: Family Pack #2 -1 lb Homemade Pork Sausage -1 lb Ribs -Smoked beans, potato salad, mac & cheese Verdict: 6.8/10 -Pork Sausage: A step above the generic sausage used at many BBQ spots around town and worth a try. The spice blend is unique and the smoked flavor truly permeated the meat. -Ribs: This was the biggest let down of the visit because of the glaring issue of quality, combined with a disappointing portion. While the ribs were somewhat tender and had a wonderful smokiness, they were noticeably dry and were definitely from a previous service date. There was no way this portion was cooked recently. In addition, the container included approximately 4 ribs, and the remaining portion was comprised of the riblet pieces/rib tips. Unless I specifically ordered rib tips, I would expect the entire portion to be whole ribs. -Smoked Beans: As advertised, a nice smoky flavor w/ a vinegary base, balanced with a hint of sweet and a touch of spice. -Potato Salad: A mustard version with ample flavor and the perfect amount of sweet relish. -Mac N Chz: Slightly bland with over cooked noodles... think Luby's, but deduct a point. read more

Disappointing! The meat was dry and toppings were skimpy. Paid extra for bbq sauce. Expensive for quality. I won't return.

Big 6 is the truth. I hate sausage. I hate 99.9% of sausage, no matter the filling. Big 6 has fresh-made sausage, made from a family recipe, and it is amazeballs. The texture is wonderful, the ratio of fat to meat is perfect (lending flavor and moisture, but no greasy yukness), and the spices enhance and compliment the obviously high quality pork. I have nibbled at the ribs--yes, sir! But have not eaten the rest of my dinner: brisket, potato salad, and what smells like some of the best peach cobbler I will ever have. I have every confidence the remaining items will be delish, and perfect! read more

Big "6" Bar-B-Que - Barbeque Near Me - Sugar Land, Texas

My meal: Cheryl's special plate (2 meats, 2 sides, 2 slices of bread, peach cobbler and drink) 17$ End cost: ~$20 Big 6 is located in a random plaza on HWY6 and Old Richmond, next to Frankenstein's grill & bar. Fortunately enough, you're able to see the truck from any direction you approach from since it's close to the highway. I had the pleasure of choosing "Cheryl's Special" with deer sausage ($2 for beef; $3 for deer) and beef brisket. My sides were potato salad and Mac & cheese. Brisket and deer sausage tasted good. Briskets weren't bone dry but definitely needed the BBQ sauce to accompany it and was a bit bland. The deer sausage wasn't bad, it just took me a few minutes to get used to me eating deer haha. They didn't have beef sausage which kinda disappointed me so i had to get the higher cost of sausage since i didn't like pork too much. Potato salad and Mac & cheese tasted great! Potato salad wasn't too overpowering and the Mac they serve are runny(I prefer runny Mac over its drier variant) Peach cobbler had to be my favorite part. Amidst all the protein and sauces you consume, the cobbler is almost the safe haven you search for after a heavy meal. The cobbler wasn't extremely sweet, but sweet enough to where you could enjoy the whole thing. Only bad thing i encountered was the lack of menu information on yelp. Prices were higher from the most recent menu picture posted. I won't be rating the business off of that and solely from their food and service. I've posted a more recent picture of its menu so I'd insist on looking on my photo Ambiance: it's a food truck and it's hot outside. Cant expect anything out of that haha Food: 4.2/5 satisfied. Would recommend and would come back (only because i live 5 minutes away) The platter was fairly big, I should mention that. I couldn't finish the whole plate and I won't complain! I would probably get meat by the pound and separate sides to share with a group. Service: we didn't speak too much but judging from their tone of voice, they're friendly and wouldn't mind going an extra step to help you out. Thanks for reading! read more

Big 6 was big GOOD! Food was hot and the taste was perfect! Dajuan and Tracy helped me they were very informatibe. Customer service is excellent and the wait was not long at all. They have a buzzer system that is really convenient for when you are waiting. I don't mind the food truck idea because its low key when you want get some good food but not dress up. Plate 1: 2 meat plate with sliced beef and pork sausage. Beef sausage was a 2 dollar upcharge so I opted for pork. Pork was just as good and juicy. I got the marble sliced beef with fat. They have 2 options so that was good. Marble or lean. Sides I got smoked beans and Mac and cheese. Mac was good a little runny but the flavor was there. Smoked beans were good I'm not a fan of smoked beans but I ate theirs because the flavor was there. Plate 2: 2 meat plate ribs/rid tips and pork sausage. Not as many sausages as in plate 1 but ribs were good size and plenty of rib tips. Sides were mac and cheese and potato salad. Potato salad was put on the side and extremely good. Not the mustard base and too yellow. Overall really good and plentiful. Will definitely be going back because its literally 6 minutes from my house. Love the location and love supporting businesses in the area. *only reason its 4 and not 5 stars because I tried to call and place my order before I got there and no one answered. * read more

Heard of this place maybe a year ago. Finally decided on stopping by, and oh my god. It was a good decision. It's now a red stationary stand. John the cashier was really cool and personable. After trying the beef brisket, I decided on getting a chopped beef plate with smoked corn and Mac and cheese. The beef was perfectly cooked and very moist. Didn't need any sauce at all, but they're sauce is also really great. I would buy the sauce alone. The mac and cheese was also amazing. I'm not sure what they put in it, but keep it up. They also have a pretty cool reward system for repeat customers. I'll definitely be returning. It's take out only which is sad because if they had tables they would shut down every restaurant in the same parking lot for sure. 10/10 read more

Love love this food! Try Cheryl's plate! The peach cobbler is to die for! And Mac and Cheese is also quite delicious

Very disappointed. The pictures were so misleading. I don't even know where to start. $9 for this "hot dog". This was almost the size of a little Smokey. The sausage was dry and had a weird aroma. The burger was a frozen patty that looked over cooked. The green beans and corn claim to be smoked looked like they were dumped out of a can and heated. Never again! read more

I first visited for 4th of July when they were at the Buffalo Run Park and was amazed by the Big 6 bbq nachos and chopped beef sandwich. The food was hot, fresh, delicious and heaping amounts. It was so good that I rode to Sugar Land this past weekend for more and was disappointed. After waiting 20 minutes for my order, The nachos were warm and the chips were soggy and stale. The portion was 1/2 the size I got the first visit. The beef sandwich was dry and like it had been setting up all day. The rib plate I ordered for my daughter was just a bunch of riblet bones. I was so pissed with my food, but I was hurrying to get to my event so didn't have time to send it back. read more

I've had worse, but I've never had it so thru the roof expensive. I wish I would have paid closer attention. How about 1/4lb brisket $10.99. That's stoopid high and I'm even stoopider to pay it. $44lb! Oh, I'm not done, but I wish I was. 1/2" pork ribs $14.99-so $30 for a pound!! And there's more $9.99 for a 1/4lb sausage. $40lb for sausage. Unbelievable!!! I seriously just paid $$35.97$$ for 1lb of meat and it wasn't even good. Don't be stoopid like me. Steer clear. Ps. I called and spoke to the owner a few hours later after the looking at the receipt and thinking about how outrageous the cost was. I was thinking maybe the lady working the window had mistakenly overcharged me. NOPE!!! The owner tried to justify these prices. I just laughed and told him no way I'd be coming back and I let everyone know. Very subpar bbq --charging way more than my favorites--killen's, pinkerton's, blood bros, truth, j-bar-m, corkscrew, tejas chocolate, snows, luling city mkt (Houston) best sausage ever! 1/22/14 11:45am - I was eager to discover some great Food Trailer 'que based on some high rated hipster reviews, but found that Big 6 is more like a Medium 3. I scored Big 6 B Que a 79 out 100. This is Regional Texas BBQ. Smoke: Pecan. There is supposedly a wood fired pit inside the trailer. I was refused to snap a picture of the pit from the inside. There are 2 smoke stacks protruding from the top and a fire box that is loaded from the outside. A container of pecan next to the trailer. All you can see from the widow is a frame and wood door like a closet. There is not a lot of room for a wood fired pit but I'll take their word for it. Brisket: Fair. An 1/8in purple smoke ring and paper thin bark. Tested Dry of Tender and was close to being overcooked. Descent smoke flavor but not much else. Use the sauce. Ribs: Good. Once again slightly overcooked and on the dry side of tender. Overall flavor was salty pork and smokey pecan. It had a rub but the seasoning was long gone. Use the sauce. Sausage: Excellent. I have had several samples of what I presume is East Texas style spicy sausage and I love it every time. A course ground pork sausage with bold traditional spice and hint of cayenne pepper for a little heat. No sauce needed at all. Sauce: Excellent. A Kansas City style dark sweet thick sauce. It was sweet, tangy and smokey. Molasses and brown sugar flavors. So good you could spoon it for dessert. A good thing because this place needs a great sauce. read more

WOW! I didn't think there was any worthwhile food trucks out of the loop, but I was wrong! I was visiting my old stomping grounds and looking for lunch. My friend said there's a lot right off hwy 6 that food trucks gather. I was like you mean the NEW food trucks, not the old Taqueria trucks. So we decided to stop on over. Sure enough there was a row of 3 trucks on this day. One bbq truck, a hotdog one, and a dessert one. It was what I always hoped it to be, a real gathering spot, with electricity too! I guess it takes being out this far to accomplish this goal. Well we opted for the BBQ one this day. I looked and I was not the first to find this place as the reviews go as far back as 2010. We decided to both get cheryl's special which is for $14 comes with 2 meats and 2 sides a drink and a peach cobbler! We decided just to order a wide variety and split it, the meats we got were the ribs, brisket, turkey, and sausage. The ribs were the best, tender, some riblet pieces, the brisket was next very flavorful, no sauce needed, the sausage was a not really my style the very course textured kind, and the turkey was well just turkey. As far as the sides the yams were the best! the beans were solid, the potato salad was good, and the corn was meh. The best part of the whole thing was dessert, DAMN, I was already stuffed but scooped up every last bite of this sweet delicious peach cobbler. read more

nice little BBQ shack. I had the brisket, ribs, and sausage. The Brisket was nice and juicy very flavorful. The ribs were kinda dry but the sauce made them very tasty. The sausage was very good its home made and full of flavor. I went back here the other day and got some for my gumbo and it worked out real nice. The also have deer sausage and its ok but not as good as the pork to me at least. The chick tried some chicken and she said it was good, she actually ate the sides of greens and tater salad so that is a major thing for us. It takes a bit of time for your order he has a pit hooked up that he stokes to get your food nice and hot. Its fixed at the main store a bit further north from my understanding and sold here as well as the main spot I will have to try the main spot one day. I've been passing by this little shack for over two years but finally decided to stop by and try it this past weekend. I ordered the three meat plate with sausage, ribs, and brisket. It also came with two sides, and I chose potato salad and their beans. It only took 10 minutes or so for the food to be ready, and the serving size was definitely enough for two people to share with leftovers. They provided jalepenos, onions, and pickles as well as plenty of barbecue sauce, which was nice. I wasn't a fan of the sausage or ribs, but I loved the brisket. Potato salad was also probably one of the best I've tried and had a really smooth consistency. Beans were awesome as well, and I never eat beans! They're drenched in their barbecue sauce and just a really good side to choose overall. Barbecue sauce has a very classic taste. Good stuff! Will be back soon because of how close it is to the boyfriend's house and how large the portions are. I'm already planning my next visit! read more

I was craving bbq because it's been awhile and saw this place on yelp. I always rather would support small business over the big name so I thought I'd try this place a out because of the reviews. The location is easy to find, the idea of a bbw shack is intriguing to me, and service was friendly. Unfortunately there was only one person working at the time and I had to wait a full 45 mins before I was able to touch my food. I'm not sure if they usually have more people working there or not but I must of came at a bad time. After the 45 mins, I finally got my order and was thinking to my self I hope it was worth the wait. Long story short I got the beef brisket plate with Mac and cheese and potato salad and it was incredible. The brisket was moist and and smokey to perfection. The Mac and cheese was by far the best Mac and cheese I've had in Houston and the potato salad was on point. I don't ever get sleepy after I eat a good meal but this meal was so good it put me on my ass for a couple hrs lol. I would give give it only 3 stars but the food was incredible and worth the wait. If I didn't have to wait so long Id would have given a 5 out of 5. I would recommend this place if you want friendly service and Bomb bbq but don't be surprise if there's a long wait. read more
