Paneer Tikka, Garlic Naan, Kadai Paneer , Dal Makhani

Very poor in taste 1/10 food, lots of chilli pushed into your dishes for no reason. Hygiene and other constraints as well, it is a food truck rather than a dhaba or a restaurant. Very bad experience over all.

First food truck I've come across in Houston that sells Indian, but there were always a few people dining there whenever I drove by, so figured it was worth a shot. Ordered chicken tikka masala (spicy) with garlic naan, both freshly made when I ordered. Very tasty, and went well with the cold weather outside. Only complaint is that it is expensive for food served out of what looks like a converted U-haul truck. Probably won't go every week due to the price, but its worth coming back for a second trip.

A food truck that don't move, like a bird in a cage. We were tied down at the mechanic shop next door, so choices were limited since walking is obviously out of the question without ac. The recognizable choices: Tandoori chicken is bland like a grey sparrow. Much more expensive than Popeyes a few hundred yards away. C+ Chicken ticks masala. Creamy, tasty, just enough spices and smoother than a rollsroyce. A Naan. Fluffy bread, just what Dr Atkins warned us about. 3 extra servings later, still A. Good spot to munch, weird atmosphere with lots of quiet drunken people. Spooky but enjoyable.

My friend (a fellow Elite Yelper) and I were in the area and she suggested we get some Indian food from this food truck. She kept ranting and raving about how good it was and all I could think was... INDIAN FOOD FROM A FOOD TRUCK?! Smh & Lol. Well, I'm glad I tried it. I ordered the tiki masala chicken and garlic naan bread. That was probably the BEST Indian food I have ever tasted in my life and yes it came from a food truck. This little truck is parked in a gas station lot and has tent covered seating for your finding pleasure. It rivals any restaurant. Promise! The ingredients are fresh and the food is DELICIOUS! If I lived closer I would probably eat here every single day!

Mix the fascination of food trucks and the wonder of Indian Food and you get Tandoori Nite. A little out of the way from central Houston, but well worth the drive out to their location. This truck sits next to a gas station and has several picnic style benches under a canopy. On cold nights they have outdoor heaters and a fire pit going to allow customers to still enjoy the outdoor seating. The men that man the truck are always friendly and offer great suggestions. Unlike most food trucks, you place your order, eat and then pay for your meal. Their prices are reasonable and the food is great tasting.

Chicken vindaloo

I hate food trucks, I think they are a pretentious trend, but for some reason I was drawn to this place. Even still I really wanted to try this place out. Maybe because you don't really see that many food trucks in Alief and Indian ones at that, or maybe because I am just a fat ass... Some things going for this place is that it's really unique, it has a real working tandor in the truck, the menu is huge and diverse, and the family working there is really nice. Also the night I went there were lots of Indian families enjoying dinner...always a good sign. Even with all these positives though, the food just wasn't that great in my opinion. I ordered chicken vindaloo and told them not to take it easy on me. I love this spicy dish and this one just didn't bring it. It was pretty mild and had a very citrusy note which I'm not used to, plus there were only a few pieces of chicken in the order. Also I was thinking that since it was a food truck it would be pretty cheap, but the price is only slightly less than average, and you get less food than if you were to go to a real restaurant. I really want to like this place and maybe I just had a bad dish. I'm going to try this place a few more times with a few more dishes before I dismiss this place as just another trendy food truck...

We appreciated that kind gesture. Every food item on the menu looked delicious. I decided on the Lamb Rack. Loved the texture of the lamb and loved the basmati rice. Lamb was cooked perfectly, and the rice was very fragrant. We were offered a complimentary Persian Ice Cream Sandwich which had an unique flavor. It wouldn't be a flavor for everyone, but to me, it was a perfect ending to a great entree as it was light and mildly sweet. Note that not all food options are halal. Their website is updated with the information and you could also ask the server for clarification. Absolutely adore the interior. The restaurant could get loud but still bearable. Complimentary valet parking is available. Self-parking is also available. Highly recommend to make reservation as the restaurant does get crowded during peak hours.

Since this place was a surprise venue for me, as soon as I saw the name "Rumi," I knew nothing could go wrong with it. I collected so many of Rumi's books, and having them around me makes me feel very peaceful. My family in Houston waited six months to celebrate my birthday due to my health issues, and I feel so blessed to have them around me. This place is always crowded, so please make a reservation even on weekdays. We went on weekdays, and even then we got a reservation for 8:45 pm. But honestly, every effort was worth it. We got there on time. Velet parking is available, but if you want to avoid more waiting, pass the restaurant, and you will see a big parking lot. We walked in and loved the interior, but it was very crowded with happy faces. We were seated in 5 minutes and started enjoying the ambiance and decor. It's a beautiful place to celebrate precious moments with your family and friends. Everyone loved our server, Zack, and his presence and approach. He talks so kindly with each of us. His recommendations were so good that we found every kind of dish for everyone, including vegetarian options. We started with sides, Thanks to Zack.

We tried the turkey, brisket, and jalapeño sausage, and every one of them was delicious. The brisket was especially impressive--moist, incredibly tender, and so soft you didn't even need a knife to cut it. The sides were very good, but the meats were definitely the highlight of the meal. One thing we really appreciated was the toppings bar, which included pickles, onions, pickled onions, jalapeños, and two different barbecue sauces so you could customize each bite. They even had a mini soft-serve ice cream machine for a little dessert after your meal, which was a nice touch. They also offer family meal options, making it a great choice for larger groups. The restaurant was clean, had plenty of seating, and the staff was friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. If you're looking for excellent halal barbecue in the Houston area, Levant is definitely worth a visit!

The reception area was small and almost claustrophobic, but very ornate. There were a few chairs for you to wait. We didn't wait long, probably less than a minute. As the hostess lead us into the main dinning area, I was shocked on how big the place was (it reminding me of the big meat market restaurants in NYC). The first room was bright from the outside sunlight, almost like an outside cafe. Our table was in a different area, where it was a little darker and decorated a lot differently from the previous room. As I looked around, there were other sections at this restaurant that kind of represented different places. The section we sat in had a very long table...which I'm guessing can host a very big family or corporate party. It sat right next to the open kitchen. Our waitress, Yaretzy, was very nice. She explained how the owners traveled to the different states of India and want to share that experience at Musaafer. Yaretzy would provide an explanation for each dish. Some of them were mixed/put together table side. Everything was delicious, and not too spicy. Musaafer is fine dining, so it's not something we can do ever weekend. But we will be back. Getting here was a little tricky if you are not familiar with the area. The restaurant is located in the Galleria. The entrance to Musaafer is on the first floor inside the mall, down the hallway closest to Saks Fifth Ave on the right (if facing Saks). You will need to take the private elevator to the second floor or walk up the stairs. There is valet parking if you prefer to do that. I think there is a small parking lot in front of the restaurant that might be free, but we went into the underground Purple garage. If you park right after going down the ramp into the Purple garage, you will see an elevator into Saks Fifth Ave, which you take up and walk outside with a short walk to Musaafer. The only problem with what we did was when Saks closes, we couldn't take that elevator back down. There were stairs back down to the purple garage, but it stank! There had to be another elevator that will take you into the mall.

I'm always happy to discover a good restaurant recommendation, and this one definitely did not disappoint. They had someone out front handing out samples of their Jollof rice, curry sauce, and stewed plantains, which were part of their Golden Bowl. I'm not a big plantain person, so I initially asked for mine without them. But, I decided to give them a try anyway, both with and without them. I'm glad I did because the plantains actually added a really nice balance to the dish. The combination of the rice, curry, and plantains was mostly savory with just a hint of sweetness. Hands down, this was my favorite dish. I also have to give a shout out to the woman out front handling the samples. I spoke with her the most, and she did a really good job of selling the restaurant. She was welcoming, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience enjoyable. Sometimes it's the little things, like someone taking the time to introduce you to the food and make recommendations, that can really make a difference. All in all, ChopNBlok was a great find, and I'm glad my friend recommended it. I don't live in the area, but if I ever find myself back there, I would definitely return for the Golden Bowl. We ain't in Queens anymore…read more For years, I've eaten on Shah's all around the borough, initially out in Ozone Park and Briarwood before finding a real audience in Sunnyside. Now that they've sufficiently blown up around NYC, I was a bit shocked (and excited) to see them finally come to H-Town. What's the verdict? It's good enough to pass muster for NY standards (#1), is open super late, and will likely be my go-to Halal food for the foreseeable future. Since I've only had it in cart form, I'm still a buggin over the fact it's become a franchise. It's similar to my shock of eating Halal Guys at a store for the first time. The digs feel as foreign (prices, large, clean and bright interior) as it does familiar (taste, logo, etc.). Even though I had a laugh seeing the wall photo-mural of a Shah's cart in Times Square, I did appreciate the nod to Ozone Park with the 121st & Liberty street signs. The chicken + lamb combo platter ($12) is and always will be the winner. The lamb had the same kind of seasoning that most Halal spots out here try to replicate but can never get right. The rice was fluffy, and the white sauce was easily the highlight. I can understand why they've decided to bottle it up and sell it as liquid gold. It makes every meal better. Kofta ($12) and chapli ($13) are rarely my favorites, but I knew I had both in platter form. The addition of adding chickpeas and these other salads is not something I'm used to from the carts (#2) but I loved the fact it was drowned in the white sauce with a dash of hot sauce. The latter is supposedly extremely hot, but I didn't find it that spicy. While I have to say the cheeseburger was a bit of a disappointment (overly bready, thin patty), the pakora chips and french fries were fabulous. They were perfectly seasoned, had a nice crisp, and frankly would be an excellent, gut-busting addition to any platter. I don't love the extra charge, but I hope they remain consistent with it. This store location in Westchase along Westheimer is an up and coming part of town. There are numerous Middle Eastern businesses in the adjacent area, along with an abundance of parking spots and a good amount of late night activity. Service was friendly but I do hope they keep their standards up. As time goes on, I'm 100% convinced this will be a destination for the many late night meal seekers and fans of NY nostaligia. __________ (#1) Which automatically supersedes a lot of the ones here in Houston. Just keeping it real. (#2) Is the chickpeas a Houston thing? Genuinely curious.

I got the white sauce on the lamb and the spicy red sauce on the side. Unfortunately after a few bites I put too much hot sauce on, which made it less enjoyable, but that was my fault.
