I've had a serious dentist phobia for years, but Dr. Woods and his assistant Alisha completely changed that. I came in needing a root canal and was nervous, but they made me feel incredibly comfortable from start to finish. Dr. Woods reassured me the whole time, even when I told him I usually pass out after shots--something that's caused other dentists to stop working on me in the past. Not here. He kept going, stayed calm, and made sure I was okay. The procedure was quick and painless, and honestly, I couldn't believe how smooth it went. I've never felt this relaxed in a dentist's office. Dr. Wood is a treasure. I had a difficult time deciding whether to go through with a re-treatment, and Dr. Wood had several long conversations with me about it, explaining everything in depth and with no pressure. Unlike so many other dentists, I never felt rushed or talked down to. We came to a mutual decision that I felt comfortable with, and I never doubted that Dr. Wood had my best interests at heart, even if it meant turning down business for him. The lady answering billing questions was not very helpful and at times pretty short. Insurance can be scary and uncertain, and as a patient I want to know (1) what the procedure is going to cost, and (2) if there's uncertainty around costs, what they are, and how they might be resolved. Having a patient and empathetic billing person would go a long way to helping this. read more

I've gotten so much dental work done in my life (trust me I'm not bragging) and have NEVER wrote a review for any dentist or specialist. I'm only wiring it for Dr Wood bc him and his team are remarkable. Dr. Wood is probably the best specialist out there. He is very honest and actually wants what's best for you (rather than just charging $). I had gotten a root canal from him which eventually lead to a dental implant (due to an infection that's been there all along). I don't know how many dental visits and oral surgeon visits I had to make. Out of all, Dr. Wood was the ONLY person who didn't charge me for every little post op visits. Thank you Dr. Wood! I can't say that about my own dentist (who I've been going for over a decade) and even my oral surgeon. Thank you for your professionalism and thank you to your team. read more

I had a very poor experience with Mark Wood and his staff. I was given more anesthetic than appropriate for my size (this was confirmed by three separate dentists, my current one and my two past dentists who also told me how many doses I should be given and how many is too much). My feelings were not taken into consideration and my reaction was not given any attention. I was pushed out of the office and not tended to properly, rather than my concerns being addressed and given proper care. I should not have had to leave the office still feeling dizzy and having my heart race. I was really shocked by the lack of professionalism and lack of care. The entire point is that I was not treated properly and when I contacted Mark Wood regarding how I was not satisfied with what happened, I was still not given much more concern or even felt that I was a truly valued patient. I definitely do not recommend this office, for its lack of true compassion, professionalism and genuine kindness that should be provided to patients (especially those who have a negative reaction or other concerns). read more

I saw Dr. Wood yesterday and had a root canal. He was recommended to me by my dentist, Dr. Alber, who said I have small canals and would benefit from the specialized tools that Dr. Wood uses. I was so afraid that it would hurt but it was only slightly worse than a filling. Dr. Wood and Melody were great. They explained everything as they were going and obviously have a good working relationship. He did an excellent job with the shots, which always hurt, but these were the least painful shots I've ever had. I only needed ibuprofen for pain management and woke up this morning with no pain (except for a little soreness from the shots). I had been suffering with tooth pain for 16 months (it all started with a crown - Not Dr. Alber's work). I am now chiding myself for being such a sissy and being in denial for 16 months. I hope I won't need his services again but I would definitely go back to him if I did. I highly recommend him. So stop being a sissy and make an appointment! :) read more

OMG Dr. Wood and his staff are amazing! They make you feel so comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. Dr. Wood is so kind, is extremely skilled, and has a great sense of humor. I am a 68 year old Grandma who cannot tolerate the rubber dam needed for the sterile conditions necessary for the success of the root canal. At my consultation, Dr Wood suggested sedation. I jumped on this idea and was able to have two root canals in one sitting! A nurse anesthetist came to his office, put in an IV, and that is all I remember from my 90 minute procedure of having two root canals! No discomfort, no gripping the arms of the dental chair in sheer panic, and No Pain! If I ever need another root canal, I would not hesitate to return to this office! read more

Excellent experienced Endodontist. Dr Wood has performed a retreatment of an old root canal on one of my upper molar tooth. I was initially very scared about having the procedure since everyone makes such big deal about root canals these days. It all went very well, Dr Wood and his staff are very friendly and trustworthy, highly efficient and always on time. After the procedure, I took only two 500mg Tylenol twice and the antibiotics, I got zero after pain, no sensitivity or any side effects. It's been 3 months now after the procedure and my tooth feels perfect. I highly recommend Dr Wood. read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Wood. I have had nothing but good care and treatment from Dr. Wood's office; and Dr. Wood basically saved my life. I had a very bad implant done by another dentist, and it took over a year afterward to discover what the source of the problem was. During that time, Dr. Wood saw me over and over again to try and help figure out what happened, even when other dentists, oral surgeons, and sinus doctors had washed their hands of me and didn't know what to do. Every time I called, he fit me in right away. He helped in narrowing down the problem, and always listened to me and gave me my possible choices for what to do. He is a very good problem solver. I've now had two root canals done by Dr. Wood as a result of that implant problem, and both of them were the best experiences I ever had (if root canals can ever be good experiences). Previous ones done by other dentists were painful and horrible; the two I had with Dr. Wood and the oral surgery he did (apicoectomy, I think it's called), were successful in helping me retain my teeth, and the root canals didn't hurt at all (the apico did afterward, but it was a surgery so that is to be expected). So it is thanks to Dr. Wood that I didn't die from chronic teeth infections that wouldn't go away; and it is thanks to Dr. Wood that I still kept my other teeth as well. I would recommend him to anyone; and in fact I had my 81 year old mother go there for her root canal as well... and it also went very well for her. I would highly recommend him to anyone. read more

The person who wrote the bad review is a loser. Had a root canal today and I don't even feel any pain 4 hours later. This dentist is state of the art, a real pro. Not only is he good and fast at what he does, he's a cool guy who has a sense of humor and explained the procedure to me (cliff notes version) when he was done. I have never had such a cake walk experience with a root canal and I've had more than one (I'm 41). Hopefully I won't have to do this again but if I do I'm coming back to Dr. Wood. A little extra.......loved the story he told me about being "institutionalized" in dental school saying he craved cafeteria food for two years after he got done. I have now had three root canals with Dr. Wood. The most recent two were after a double crown-prep that gave me pain and trouble from the beginning (I have extra-sensitive teeth and the crown preps after removal of large fillings were apparently just too much for them). Dr. Wood helped me formulate a plan for dealing with the problem. I wanted to avoid a double root canal if possible, so we first tried just one root canal on the tooth that was the angriest. Unfortunately, that didn't take care of it, so I went back in a few days later for the second. Both procedures were virtually painless even though they were on lower back molars, which are apparently the most complicated to get numb (especially when already inflamed). Dr. Wood is a master of anesthetic technique and works quickly and well. My dentist is always impressed that he removes the nerves through such a small opening in the tooth. I am happy to say that 24 hours after the second procedure I am essentially back to normal--no more pain! I am also no longer afraid of root canals. Thank you, Dr. Wood. read more
