Well, this is was unexpected. I went into this experience tired and starving but expecting a Golden Corral meal level that did the job as this was located across the street from my hotel. At first glance was a bit surprised at the size thinking the options were more than I expected but, again, this isn't my first buffet so I knew it would be edible but nothing great. Well color me shooketh. This buffet was buffets like Golden Corral promise but don't deliver. The food was delicious and the variety was incredible: soul food, Mexican, Italian, grilled meats, fish, seafood, burgers, pizza, side dishes of roasted garlic balsamic Brussels sprouts to Onion rings and fries. Let me give you an example, I passed on the steak because I KNEW buffet steak: tough, overcooked and dry. My son got it was like "mom this is very good" so he gave me bite. Wood grilled, tender and juicy and not overcooked. Now, it was on par with Outback or Texas Roadhouse so don't expect Capital Grill but for 16.99 a person and all you can eat? 10/10. Desserts were solid but normal buffet level, the standout is the cakes which were very good. Service was kind, friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back!

One of the best American buffet I've had in recent years. Even greater was the price, an excellent value for the wide variety of dishes. Extra points since most of the items were good quality. Staff were friendly & attentive. If you want even better value, come for lunch. Dining area is enormous but not crowded.

This is the first we dined at this buffet. There are so many items serving for the dinner buffet. They offer senior discount and as long as you arrive before 4 pm, you still pay lunch price. Drinks are not included in the buffet. I believe it is $2.49 for soda. I was pleasantly surprised with the selections. They have fresh fruits, salad, two choices for soup, all kinds of meats, fish, etc. The salad offerings are very good. Everything was very good. Service was excellent.

    lovely, lovely desserts..

Was in the area and looking for a place to eat that I had never been to before. Looked up buffets (a guilty pleasure of mine), and found this place. I expected a Golden Corral knock-off, but what I got was even better! LOTS of variety, and so many good things to choose from. Some items I had never had before, others were lightyears beyond any other place I had tried in the past in terms of taste and quality. I was seated in a room separate from the main dining area. It was a busy Friday evening, and I was expecting scraps on the line since it was getting later. However, to my surprise: they were still stocking fresh food right up until closing! Service was awesome. My server Keisha was excellent! (Give that girl a raise!) I never once had to ask for refills, and my cup was never empty. Place seemed pretty clean too. My favorites were the cheeseburgers, brussel sprouts, broccoli casserole, barbeque ribs, crab cakes, and the desserts. Plenty of something for everyone at this one. They don't have any of these where I live, and since I was only visiting the city, I was trying to make the most out of my experience. I could've gorged myself even further on more grub, but I resisted. If I ever return to that area, I will certainly be going back! Perhaps one of, if not the best buffet I've ever been to! (and the first five-star review I've ever left on here) Only complaints: some of the salad options were not that great. Avoid the peaches, folks! No bueno! Overall, one of the best restaurants I have had the pleasure of dining at. Can't wait to go back.

Great food at a great price. Amazing they can offer such a wide variety of food (including fresh fruits and vegetables) at this price. Come hungry. Highly recommend to everyone.

We needed a lunch stop on a road trip and decided to give it a shot with all the reviews. Level setting, it's your basic buffet serving various American food. There were items that did surprise me with how they were. Fried chicken, fried shrimp, green beans, cheddar garlic biscuits; all solid choices. A few items were fine. Mashed potatoes, Swedish meatball, chicken tenders, stuffing/dressing, chicken soup; a little less flavorful than I'd have hoped. Nothing was bad, though there were items I wouldn't get again in favor of ones I preferred. Food was coming out frequently and fresh, so that was nice. Staff was attentive and checked in as we ate. While I might not make it a destination, it was a good lunch at a decent price.

The tomatoes looked so ripe! I had to get a picture.

This was an amazing buffet! Let me tell you, I was skeptical until I read the reviews. This was the best buffet I've been to since I was a kid. The food is so good!!! The employees do a good job a keeping the food fresh and plentiful. The buffet was kept stocked and nothing seemed to be old. The food was well seasoned, too! The yeast rolls were huge! I had two...tee hee. My sister and I cannot stop talking about how good it was. We'll definitely come back!

In case you have never been they offer steaks that are cooked in a brick fire oven. AMAZING I ordered the VA sirloin which was cooked to perfection (medium rare) with creamed spinach and potatoes. The creamed spinach and the potatoes were very delicious and flavorful. I also ordered the fried oysters which were great. Not overly fried and still maintained the texture and flavor of a typical oyster. The service was impeccable. Our waitress was very entertaining and helpful. She was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She ensured that wanted for nothing. The ambiance was great. I loved the cow theme as well as the signage that stated "no well done steaks". I usually get a lot of recommendations from coworkers, friends, and family to try new places but no one had mentioned this place to me. I think a lot of that has to do with the location. It is tucked away in the corner of an extremely busy shopping center that includes the Alamo. There are lots of food options near them but somehow they have managed to stand out. The service here is top notch and should come as no surprise since it is family run. It has feeling of getting a home cooked meal from Venezuela. It's as advertised. The restaurant was dark and moody creating a perfect romantic atmosphere. Our server was attentive and helpful. 1st course: Butter Poached Maine Lobster- melts in your mouth. Perfect consistency. The secret sauce made it perfect. The flavors were complex and I couldn't figure out what they put in it to make the sauce because they all blended so well. Roasted Maine Scallops: I have never cared for scallops. These had the best texture - the perfect amount of fluffy and firm. They were buttery and delicious. The capers topped on it added a little something extra without overwhelming the flavor of the scallop. 2nd course: Steak Chinois: steak was tender and cooked to perfection (went medium) the ginger sauce gave it so much flavor. The potato's were smooth and savory and melded well with the steak. The flavors combined complimented each other so well. Grilled Double Rack of Lamb: was very tender too. My first bite had too much red sauce and was a bit overwhelming after having just finished the steak chinois. However, I mixed with the potatoes and lightly dipped in red sauce and then the flavor was an explosion in my mouth. 3rd course: Vanilla crème brûlée with rasberries- literally perfect. We had 5:30pm reservations and were seated immediately. The host was warm, acknowledged the occasion, and honored my request for a quieter table by placing us in a bay-window nook. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The space echoed so badly we could barely hear each other, and the setting sun combined with the AC being accidentally turned off made the area feel like a sauna. Our water glasses were filled within minutes, so we thought service would be smooth. Instead, we sat for another 15 minutes before anyone greeted us--while a table seated after us was helped promptly and served at a noticeably faster pace. I understand large parties require attention (there was a group of 10-12 nearby), but as a former server myself, I've never allowed smaller tables to feel forgotten. When our server, Lucian (sp?), finally arrived, we immediately placed drink and appetizer orders because we were already starving. The appetizers came out about 20 minutes later--still before our drinks. The brussels sprouts were excellent and worth the wait. The biscuit basket was good, though the butter-to-biscuit ratio felt off, and the apple butter was surprisingly delicious. Our entrées didn't arrive until at least 45 minutes after that. The pacing was simply poor, and we consistently felt like an afterthought. While our server was polite, he didn't initiate conversation, offer suggestions, mention happy hour, or acknowledge our daughter's birthday. He didn't even suggest dessert. Meanwhile, the six-top behind us--seated well after we were--was wrapping up their meal as ours was just being served. The food presentation was beautiful. The pot roast, however, was underwhelming. It lacked seasoning and sauce, and the vegetables were forgettable--very few potatoes, no carrots. "Not your normal pot roast" was accurate, but not in a good way. The shrimp and grits were excellent, with great seasoning and a flavorful sauce. The salmon was moist and well-prepared, though it still had a few scales on the end of the filet. Once we finished eating, we again waited for our server to return. We eventually had to wave him down for boxes and again to request the check. Parking in the back was convenient early in the evening, though I imagine it becomes difficult later. Would we return? Unfortunately, probably not. We've been treated better, served more efficiently, and appreciated more fully at other restaurants--including one almost directly across the street. What we hoped would be a memorable celebration ended up feeling ho-hum at a high price--too high for the experience we received.
