The concept is great--being able to order from multiple "restaurants" in one place is super convenient--but the execution has been pretty underwhelming. I've tried a handful of spots, and the only one that really stood out was Hanu Poke. The portions are generous as I was able to make two meals from my order. The other places I've tried--Detroit Brick Pizza, Streetbird, Wing Trip, and Tejas BBQ--has been just okay. My latest order from Tejas--brisket and BBQ pork sandwiches--was better than fast food, but nothing special. The app is easy to use and gives good order updates, and prep usually takes about 20-30 minutes. Pickup is hit or miss--sometimes it's ready on the shelf, other times you have to ask someone to grab it. I usually do takeout, but the space itself is clean with some seating--just a bit sterile, and there's basically no service beyond pickup. Biggest thing is managing expectations. I will speak on the wing trip since that is what I ordered. When I got there around afternoon on a weekend there were no people and orders ready to be picked up so that should be a signal. I got bone in wings with mango habanero and gochujang where the mango habanero was a lot better. The wings were inconsistent in size and they were just not good overall. Also kind of wild that you have to pay extra for ranch or blue cheese. The place is an easy avoid. read more

When this place first opened, the concept seemed too good to be true, but I figured I'd give it a try after receiving a promo discount in the mail. I used the app to place my order in advance and it was ready to go by the time I got there. Everything was well packaged and I didn't have any issues with pick up. I ordered a couple things from Kin House including the pork egg rolls, shrimp lo mein, and Chinese green beans which were all pretty good and reasonably priced, especially the shrimp lo mein which had 8 large shrimp in it! For $16! It's hard to review a whole food hall based on one experience and I read reviews that had issues with some of the other vendors, but from what I can tell Kin House seems to be a good option. read more

My first visit to Wonder was on a Saturday evening. I placed my order online and drove to the Rosslyn location. Parking was easy, plenty of street options available. Inside was much smaller and more bare than I was expecting, but I guess it's sufficient. There is a screen to order your food, a counter for pick up, a couple of different seating options and two restrooms. I ordered a Chicken Souvlaki & Avocado Sandwich from YASAS BY MICHAEL SYMON and Dana's Bakery Brown Butter Krisp Bar from ROYAL GREENS (just so I could use the 50% off promo code. My order was ready quickly. The sandwich was huge! Nicely wrapped, but it would have been nice if it was cut in the middle for easier holding. It was tasty, and filled to the brim with all of the items included (chicken, avocado, lettuce, etc.) It was very filling. The Krisp bar was a lot. I actually felt kind of sick afterwards. Not sure if it's because I ate too much or because the bar was so sweet. I will give this place another try because there are so many options. read more

Gave this place another try. What I've found is that it's not consistent. Last time I got the shrimp saganaki, it only had 5 shrimps and this time, it was 10. The chicken souvlaki I had last time was less soggy and this time is super saucy. (They were picked up both times right away and eaten in store) The chicken sandwich was the best tasting out of them but the buns were smashed despite being in a box. Since the wonder kitchen staff were trained to make these dishes, it appears they might need better training and quality control. read more

Wonder recently opened in Rosslyn, and the concept is fantastic. A food hall with a great spread of ghost restaurants all working out of the same kitchen space. I actually walked in the day of the grand opening, but had to go somewhere else for lunch because there were only two kiosks to order from (with long lines each) and I had no service in the area to place an order on my phone. Ordering from home and then going to pick up your order once it's ready definitely seems like the ideal approach over trying to order while there. The food itself was good! I added chicken to the Beat & Goat Cheese Salad and was pleasantly surprised by how much goat cheese was included. I think I would've liked more beets, but the salad itself was good. The 6 piece classic wing was nice, I chose the peri peri sauce which didn't really come through flavor wise but the wings themselves were cooked excellently. Overall this location brings in some wonderful diversity of food options and a proposed efficiency that will help during lunch rushes. It'll be nice to go back and try more of the exciting options. read more

Great concept; a food hall with many ghost restaurants from famous restaurateurs (Marcus Samuelson, Michael Simon) operating from a shared kitchen space. Ordering can be done on the iPad, website or app. There is a pickup area inside with the name and items on an attached receipt. Tap water and cups are available, as well as indoor seating. My companion got a build your own fajita bowl from limesalt with tofu. Gave it a thumbs up. I had a veggie burger from burger baby. The patty was beet-based and a little salty but meaty tasting. Found out today was their grand opening and thought I would pop in and try them out! It's an interesting concept where you can order food featured from different restaurants - all from one kitchen. There are kiosks to order from and staff around to assist. I ordered online (pork belly from Tejas Barbecue) and it was ready in about 20 minutes. They call out names for pick up orders before placing it in the pick up area which looked organized and spacious. There was a decent amount of seating - bar and banquette style seating. The space was clean, bright, and modern. My food was good - cooked well (tender and a little crisp), albeit a bit greasy, and paired well with the sauce. Nothing bad to say, but I'm not sure I would make it a regular haunt. read more

The new Wonder Food Hall in Rosslyn officially opened today! I've been walking by this place for weeks waiting for it to open. They've put a lot of work into it to make it beautiful. Personally, I love the convenience of a food hall including the option to have meals delivered. It was about 30 minutes from the time I placed my online order to the time it was at my door. I paid a little under $15 for fries and chicken from Streetbird. With taxes, fees and tip it was about $20. Cheaper than doordash or Uber eats! Honestly the chicken could have been Tyson chicken - although it was delicious. I chose the brown sugar babe sauce and it was a perfect mix of sweet and tangy. However, the fries were the real star - crisp, hot, and fluffy. I could've consumed three orders of fries alone. All in all, I think it's a real fair price for hot food, solid portions, and a variety of options. Can't wait to try some other cuisines and potentially update my rating! read more

This VC backed company has premade food sent from a centralized distributor and heat up in a commercial microwave I assume. If you love airline food and TV dinners, this could be your jam. Tejas barbeque did not list the poundage of their brisket but for $21 you'd expect a meal right? with the double bag packaging it came out to 10oz so without all the packaging it was probably 8 oz, and the kicker were the 2 pickle end pieces included in the order. So happy that Wonder has opened in Rosslyn and I've ordered from them multiple times now. I tried a bowl from Yasas and two from Royal Greens. They were all were delicious. I liked the cinnamon spiced sweet potatoes from Yasas and the bowls came with a same delicious pita bread. It's small but flavorful! Also love the variety of sauces that they offer but they unfortunately missed a sauce on my Yasas bowl and gave me the incorrect sauce (thousand island instead of roasted sesame) for my Royal Greens bowl. They just opened though so hopefully things will go smoother in the future. I would prefer if they didn't put my sauce inside the bowl and instead put it on the side so that they can fill up the bowl with contents. I think the Royal Greens bowls have more customizability which I like. All the toppings taste delicious and fresh. It reminds me of Roots but is much closer to me. I will be back :) read more

This looked like a barbecue joint named Tejas online, but it's really some Frankenstein's monster of a restaurant made up of a conglomeration of supposed restaurants someone dubbed a 'ghost kitchen'. It's named 'Wonder', as in 'I Wonder why it's still open'. I'm fairly certain that the food came out of a box that some poor, soulless employee stuffed in a microwave. if you're looking to fill your belly with grossly over-priced warm garbage and regret, this is the spot. I tried out Hanu poke from Wonder because i had a 50% off coupon and the location is very close to my house so i ordered it for pick up and despite the discount i was definitely disappointed. I got the tuna and Salmon bowl and the fish was quite fishy and almost slightly cooked ? It seemed like the sushi rice was too hot that it slightly cooked the fish which gave it a very unpleasant and fishy flavor. Even then toppings such as the edamame and Persian cucumbers lacked flavor. I really wanted to like this place since i have been looking for a go to poke spot but unfortunately i will not be reordering. read more

The vegetables in the hot and sour soup appeared to be reconstituted from frozen or freeze dried. My baked potato was half-cooked with randomly melted and unmelted cheese, presumably from a poor microwave job. What a letdown!!! This used to be a beloved neighborhood café, and now it's a soulless ghost kitchen churning out overpriced, low-effort meals. My friends and I tried a range of dishes across all the menus, Chios Taverna, Hanu Poke, LimeSalt, the cheesesteak spot, and at best, the food was mediocre; at worst, it tasted like it had come straight from a freezer. The Greek food barely passed as Greek. We ordered the Gigandes , the keftedes, and two pita sandwiches- the beans were overcooked, the meatballs were mid as were the "souvlakia." The only reason we even gave it a second shot was the $15 coupon, but even with the discount, it wasn't worth it. The poke bowl was sad. We both ordered a double salmon poke bowl and there was a handful of sad pieces of semi cooked fish in the entire thing. Whoever assembled the bowl didn't understand that poke is meant to be raw and likely microwaved it with the rice. They've stripped away what made the original café special: no meaningful seating, no welcoming vibe or service, just a handful of stools and a fridge full of drinks. What used to be a vibrant neighborhood hub is now a glorified vending machine with a checkout screen. With so many good restaurants and a FAR better food hall just up the road (UPSIDE on Moore actually cooks the food fresh), there's absolutely no reason to come here. We won't be back! read more
