They charged a comparably lower diagnostic rate than their competitors. They showed up on time and were professional and were able to find the issue (blown capacitor) quickly and get it repaired for a reasonable price. I've saved them in my phone for future reference and will highly recommend them to anyone who needs their HVAC serviced.

I Googled what is generally performed for standard a/c tune up. Here is what I did not see the Tech doing. Did not check refrigerant level. Did not open up furnace to inspect or clean evaporator coils. Did not test refrigerant levels. Did not lubricate moving parts. Did not test capacitors or amp draws. Asked for hot water tank flush. Mine had a weird ball drain valve. The last hot water tank installer put in to let out more sediment out from tank. It was not standard. Power Tech had to procure a fitting in order to allow garden hose type thread to be installed. It did not help that my floor drain was clogged in the basement. Another drain was located and the Tech's self coiling hose had to be stretched out to extreme extent. It put pressure on the fitting. And that made it so the water was squirting out of the fitting and getting all over the basement floor. The Tech only drained the tank once. No flushing/purging/refilling to get all the sediment out. No safety and components check. Tech should have stated a proper flushing could not be perform. Tech was on the phone much of the time. I ultimately left the room so tech could take his calls. 6/24/26 I wanted to update my review after owner commented. When I hired you, your demeanor should have been professional from the start. No customer should have to call you back a second time to ask you do to a proper job. You initially earned my trust when I hired your company. You have lost my trust by performing a really subpar job, but still collected top tier pay for the services. You have cost me to spend double and hire another company who will do the proper job. The job you performed was something I could, and have, done in the past MYSELF. I would not recommend your company.

I used the project quote function on Yelp to snag some pricing and info from local plumbers. In chatting with Al over yelp, he had me send some pictures and gave me a general idea of pricing. Unfortunately for me, my setup is non-compliant with current code specs. Fortunately for me, Al was able to come check it out in person the next day. He was then able to get back to me and upgrade my system, install a new water heater, and take the old one out... all within 72 hours of my original request. Some of the larger companies in the area were a week or more out before even willing to come give me an estimate. Can't say enough positive things about Breyer's. From start to finish it was a friendly, professional, and well done project. If i need a plumber in the future, they'll be my first call.

They replied to my request for the price for a visit within a few hours of initial communication, and Al came the next day . He explained everything as he examined the A/C, fan and motor. It was a motor/fan problem for AC and furnace. Since my furnace was 13 years old and had a few hiccups last winter already, i asked them to replace with brand new one. Today (next day) D'Artagnon and his colleague came @8 am to replace my old furnace. They even made a few updates on pipes for drainage (so that water goes into the drain directly without spilling). Now my AC is blowing nice cold air and I don't have to worry about the furnace for at least another 10 years (that comes with 10 year warranty). The price for this installation was reasonable, as it was a bit lower than my old furnace. They did all within 3.5 hours. Al followed up with a call to make sure I was satisfied with their work within 30 min. I felt they were thorough and very professional, and honest and do care about their customers.

Dave, Conor, and the whole crew at Dearborn Heating and Cooling are easily THE BEST…read morecontractors/service people I've ever worked with. My home is nearly 100 years old and uses a boiler and radiators for heat and a high velocity SpacePak system in the attic for air conditioning. I bought the home in 2020 and it had been flipped, so you know it has its fair share of quirks. Dave and the crew have serviced all aspects of our heating and cooling systems at this point, from smaller boiler issues to much larger AC issues. The AC system was basically falling apart when I moved in and they helped me get a few extra years out of it. This past spring, we finally pulled the trigger on a complete replacement. Dave came to look everything over again and gave me a few different quotes to choose from. The team dismantled the old system and installed the new one in about a day and a half. Great! But once summer rolled around and I started using the new system, I found that it wasn't cooling like it should. Uh-oh. Dave and the crew put in countless extra hours and additional labor (at no cost to me) until it was all running correctly. It turned out it was no problem with their installation (not that I had any doubts) but with some very specific and hard-to-detect issues with the manufacture of the condenser unit (which was brand new from the manufacturer). I was blown away that Dave and his team would put in so much extra effort to get to the bottom of things and that they maintained their usual friendly, professional attitude even though it was a frustrating situation for them working in a hot attic! All along the way they were very communicative and had ideas and plans and back-up plans and kept at it until they solved the problems. I'm so happy I went with Dearborn Heating and Cooling for this work. I can't imagine another crew would have had the same commitment to quality or the level of knowledge needed to solve such a specific, unexpected issue. They really stand by their work and won't stop until the customer is happy, which feels really rare these days. But then, this is a family business that's been at it for over 80 years, so they know what they're doing! Big thanks to Dave and the whole team. You guys are heating and cooling heroes!
