Wolf's Ridge is an okay brewery. It has a pretty good amount of house selections though it's not all that impressive. They also have a food menu. It's better than regular bar food. The beer and food is kind of expensive for what you get. If you have been in Columbus you know there's tons of breweries. It has many in the same area, which is the case with this. The brewery is located on North 4th Street, just around several others. Elevator is located a couple of blocks south. Seventh Son is just north of there. It's become a bit too saturated and it's harder to stand out from the crowd. What Wolf's Ridge does better is the food. It's already an improvement upon some of the brewers who offer crappy bar shit like wings and not much else. The main thing is the beer though so let's talk about that. A flight of 5 beers is $12. The Heretical IPA is the best. It's not too hoppy and has a smooth crisp taste. The food is not to be missed. It's kind of expensive so choose an appetizer. The hummus is spicy and goes really good with hoppy beers. I would consider eating at Wolf's Ridge again. It's not great but it's good food. The beer selection is all right. read more

Wolf's Ridge has a good brunch! My family and I came here for an impromptu brunch. We actually came to Columbus to try another location and got all the way there, to find out they were only doing take out. We live 2 hours away so that was a bummer. However, I relied on Ole faithful Yelp to help me out. As always, Yelp came through. I found Wolf's Ridge and read some of the reviews and looked at photos. It looked good so we called and made reservations. You have to make reservations due to COVID. Luckily, they were able to get us in. The staff is very nice and accommodating. We all started by ordering the donuts to share. The donuts are the same but are accompanied by different ingredients based on season. We had the Strawberry donuts with cream and candy pearls. These donuts were so good. They were soft, chewy and had the perfect texture. We literally ate these so fast. Now time for brunch! I ordered the Eggs Benedict. My husband ordered the Chicken & The Egg, and we ordered our daughter a Kid's Grilled Cheese. The Eggs Benedict was good but there was nothing special about it. It was your typical Eggs Benedict, but it was tasty. My husband's dish was very good. It's their play on "Chicken & Waffles". It consisted of Smoked cheddar and jalapeno hotcakes, fried chicken thigh, bourbon maple syrup, paprika honey butter, chives, sunny side eggs. Everything about this dish was amazing and tasty! It was flavorful and the chicken was seasoned well. He really enjoyed this dish. The Kid's Grilled Cheese apparently comes with tomatoes and avocado now. The waiter said those ingredients were just added. However, my kiddo was not having it. LOL! She would not touch the sandwich. I tried it and it wasn't bad. This was my first time here (went for dinner)- and I had an overall good time! Really cool restaurant/brewery that brews a bunch of their own beers. You are able to order a flight of 3 or 5 beers- allowing you try several different types of beer. Loved that this was an option! For dinner I tried a NY Strip with herb butter, broccoli, and potatoes. The steak was tender (and HUGE), and the herb butter that was made in house, really made the dish- it was soooooo flavorful!!! Recently I attended Wolf Ridge's first brunch in their new Hickory Room. The event was limited to only 54 tickets which was nice because the room wasn't too full then. The event included 5 courses, a beermosa or mimosa and as much coffee as you wanted. Nearly all the food was excellent. The five courses consisted of: Course 1: Confetti Doughnuts and Chantilly Course 2: Smoked Trout Tartine Course 3: Toad in the Hole Course 4: Mole Lamb Course 5: "French Toast" Course 1 was by far the weakest. I was worried when they brought it out I was given a kids meal by mistake. It was just simple doughnuts like you'd find at any unremarkable doughnut shop. My favorites were the Smoked Trout, Toad in the Hole and "French Toast." It was called "French Toast" because it resembled it but was actually a cinnamon bread pudding. I hope they actually put it on the menu at Wolfs Ridge permanently. I was extremely full by the time it arrived but I wouldn't let myself stop eating it. Also, the service was extremely good. I went to Wolf's Ridge restaurant (not brewery/bar) with high expectations after seeing the promising reviews on Yelp. But I was sadly disappointed with the taste of the food. The appetizer (parsnip pappardelle) was bland and the main course (rabbit leg) was too salty. The other food was ok (not great). There's nothing to shout about with this place and the food that they serve. I told the waitress my feedback about the food and she mentioned that they've received similar feedback before but the chef doesn't want to make changes to his recipe. I don't understand how this place received 4 stars. Is the 4 stars coming from the brewery and not the restaurant part of Wolf's Ridge? read more

Slight update on a Sunday morning brunch. Oh boy. I don't like being critical but you know how I am with breakfast and brunch time. I'm like the Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. I'll start with the good - they can make a nice Mimosa. Proper glass, too. Surprising how many places don't use the proper glass. The service was attentive to the point of being overbearing, but I'm not going to dock them solely for that. Like anyone else, I'd rather be over-served than under-served. That's a plus, even if it's odd. But I have to say, in terms of staffing, the place was a clown car about to explode. Again, who doesn't like a place that employs a lot of people? But I feel I got less hovering from my mother during my college years. Because of this the pace was, for a relaxed Sunday brunch (especially for a group of slightly hungover bachelor party shenanigan veterans), extraordinarily frantic. They were clearing our plates as quickly as we were fumbling with our forks and finishing them. One of my friends was thankfully done with his plate as he was a light eater, so when they pulled it away nothing of value was lost, but there was plenty left if they wanted to ask if he wanted to take anything home. Spoiler Alert: They did not ask if he wanted to take anything home. The table must be purged! And away went his plate as we waited for our checks to be passed out in the signature little glass jars. Seriously, it was weird. As an almost afterthought and unintentional result of the anxious cleansing of the table as each of us in turn finished our food, they kept our water topped off constantly, which was a bit of a plus. I don't know if they had a big reservation coming in or what, but we felt rushed and unwelcome. Finally, and perhaps the greater sacrilege for me, is their take on Steak and Eggs. Unique? Yes. But they cut my steak before I could get my hands on it! (I know I know, sometimes it's part of classier plating and I get that - but it's Steak and Eggs!) Also, there were only four slices. They must have found the smallest cut of Angus available. No matter how good the cut of beef - even if it was driven directly from Niman Ranch itself mere hours before - that amount is not worth a $20 price tag. The black beans that came with it I believe were meant to offset an adornment of sauteed onions, but...it didn't work for me. What did work was what I believe to be some kind of mashed potato/grits hybrid, which blended with the egg yolk well. The problem is, I don't know if I was eating American bistro or some kind of south of the border hybrid. It was also served in a bowl, further complicating my culinary compass. I absolutely loved brunch here. I mean LOVED it! You can easily make a reservation on Open Table. Our server, Eric, was the perfect amount of attentive and friendly. My husband and I had the Clear Sky draft beer which was just as light and refreshing as it was described in the menu, and at 5.1%, was just enough to chase away our lingering hangovers. My girlfriend and I just went here for brunch with a friend. It's been years since I went to Wolf's Ridge, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered their take on a Bloody Maria, pictured here, with a Daybreak beer back. It was excellent quality, as was all of the food -- unfortunately not pictured, because we all dove right in as soon as it arrived. I got the chicken and the egg, which is a succulent fried chicken thigh served with cheddar jalapeño pancakes and two sunny side up eggs. The chicken was both perfectly crisp and moist, and the pancakes were a revelation. Last but not least, I ordered some of their cold brew to perk myself up after a heavy meal and a boozy drink, and it was also excellent quality. Went here for the first time while in from out of state. Was highly recommended from our Uber Driver. Went on a Sunday morning for brunch and let me tell you, this place DID NOT disappoint. This might have been a top 3 brunch for me all time. The food was phenomenal. The Service was great. The atmosphere was fantastic. We were about to walk in and get a table without a reservation, but I highly recommend making reservations through their website just to make sure you get in. It's not an overly large space, so reservations can definitely help. We were a party of two, so that helped. I would HIGHLY recommend this place for brunch and to start your weekend off right. After we finished brunch, we walked next door to the Taproom. Taproom had a great selection of beers and drinks to try. They have flights available as well to sample their beers. Seating is both indoor and outdoor. The service here was just as great as the dining room. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TAPROOM & DINING ROOM TO EVERYONE. Plating was beautiful but I was expecting a crispier sear on their scallops. Food was good, but overall was pretty expensive for the portions. Brunch on the other hand was great! Food was still pricey, but more reasonable than dinner. My pork belly dish was to die for. This review is for the "taproom" side of the restaurant, which has a slightly different food menu (more pub, bar fare) but the same excellent drafts on tap. Also, there's outdoor seating options available! We snagged a table (a fenced in area in the alley on the side of the building) and ordered an array of shareables: the "loaded" pretzel (which comes with pickled veggies, beer cheese, mustard, and salami on the side); mustard pickled eggs; Asian BBQ drumsticks (huge, tender-- very good!); and house spiced nuts (not hot spicy, but flavorful). Servers were very attentive (service was a little slow, but servers kept checking on us and making sure we knew we were being taken care of). We also got flights -- they have an impressive selection of stouts and fruitier beers that we particularly enjoyed, but the menu features a number of styles, all highly drinkable. This is a newer brewery in Cbus and kind of off the beaten path. However, don't let that scare you off! This place has some incredible beers! I mean they are very unique! The bartender Andy was great! He made great recommendations and had us sampling many I probably would have never ordered. He was dead on when describing the taste of each beer. The brewery is very simple with decor. It's much more of a simply decorated warehouse. Long tables and high ceilings. It has a bright clean feeling. I would highly recommend stopping by! After going to the restaurant for dinner and brunch, I'm updating to 4 stars. 3.5 for the restaurant and 5 for the tap room. The restaurant itself is a nice space, but it gets noisy quite easily. More than that, the dishes are good, but thy are pricey. We've tried everything from the fried chicken sandwich to the salads to the Fritatta, to name a few of the dishes. They're consistently good but nothing outstanding. They also don't go over the top to make things right They missed my wife's drink order, and when I asked about it half way through our meal, he seemed surprised and said he'd go ask. When I said we didn't want that particular drink so late into the meal, he said ok and moved on. A 5 star would offer a different drink free of charge to apologize for the mix up. I'll be back for the beer and tap room, but for a nicer restaurant, I'll stick to other choices nearby. read more

Was here during a visit to Columbus for work last year - again, another review that I didn't do when we were there at the time.. My colleagues had come the night before for dinner (I missed out as my flight was arriving late), however, they were so impressed we decided to go back again the next day for lunch. Beers were awesome - there was thumbs up all round from all of us drinking beers - from the IPAs to the dark beers they have.. the Dire Wolf Russian Imperial Stout and the Howling Moon IPA were favorites for sure.. On of my colleagues (and good friend) is a really good beer guy - knows a lot, so he was pretty impressed also - which was great. Our waiter was very helpful and he offered the perfect suggestions! Even gave us a few tasters when we first arrived.. Always a nice gesture.. We started with some appetizers - the hummus was VERY good.. All round winner. We had a cheese platter which was also really nice.. Food was very well presented and cooked - we had a little bit of a time restraint as we needed to fly out later that afternoon, however, we had a mixture of burgers and a few other tasty treats... Our waitress, Ashley, was friendly and fun! A whiskey girl, just like me, she suggested the molé and the pear. Both were delicious and well balanced. However, my favorite would have to be the molé. Sweet and warm, yet bursting with flavor. My friend had the pineapple and the espresso martini. The pineapple was wonderfully and unexpectedly smoky. We also enjoyed an after dinner beer flight that Ashley handpicked for us herself. It included The Hefewedge, Cherry Cordial (Emma's favorite), Night Method, Santa, and Daybreak (my two favorites). For food, I ordered the Grilled Little Gem while Emma ordered the burger with fries. Both of our dishes were large portions and very tasty. The Gem was unlike any salad I've had and I would definitely return to eat it again. The burger was massive and Emma said it was very good. I tried the fries and I have no complaints, but they weren't anything to write home about. Considering sides are purchased separately, I would forgo them next visit. Stop number one on an eclectic Sunday: Our illustrious community manager recommended Wolf's Ridge a few months ago, and we finally made it in. Didn't plan it ahead of time, but it isn't too far from us and sounded great. We walked in and were greeted warmly; waited a few minutes for a table but it wasn't bad. Service was excellent; Alex helped us. Sweetie started with coffee, while I, who had just come for food, was seduced by the beer. I ended up with a flight of the hefeweizen, Little Red Riding Hood, Zane's Trace, and a couple of others. All were very good; Zane's Trace was my favorite, a rye with a bit of that kick and a nice balance of other flavors. They all went well with my food choice, too- the toad in the hole. I had never had it, but the description sounded very breakfasty and that was what I wanted. There are a bunch of other interesting things on the menu, for other visits. The eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sauce were each incredible, and together made for an mmm-worthy meal. Sweetie had the bacon french toast, and I didn't get a taste. Both our meals were that good. Immaculate experience! My party and I made a reservation a few hours in advance after a Bluejacket's game. I would definitely recommend making a reservation before hand. There wasn't a large crowd but we ate a bit late, around 9:45pm, so that probably makes a difference, and there were still quite a bit of people there. Ambiance was cool! It's dimly lit with pretty table settings. They have a living wall! A living wall is a wall made with rows of houseplants! It was beautiful, unique, and huge! In the back, there's a long hallway to walk down to get to the restrooms. On one side there are giant beer barrels (I wish I knew the brewery language to explain it better) and the other is an open kitchen area. Very cool! The bathrooms were so cute and clean! I really appreciated that they offer applicator free tampons in the stall and have a sign stating the environmental affects of tampons. Love that!!! Not only do you not have to worry about forgetting a tampon, they are also environmentally friendly and promote environmental protection!! The food was outstanding! I have celiac disease and they have an incredible gluten free menu! I ordered scallops, contemplating the duck breast. The scallops were the best I've ever had. They were tender and seared perfectly. I loved the beluga lentils it came with. Smokey and delicious. My wife ordered the ribeye and enjoyed it as well! She said her steak was slightly under-seasoned and needed salt, but had no problem enjoying every bite! My friends ordered the scallops and the duck breast. The duck is served medium rare and looked incredible! I didn't hear any complaints from my friends! I wish I had more room to try one of their gluten free desserts! Definitely next time. As previously yelpers have noted, this listing encompasses two very different dining establishments within Wolf's Ridge Brewing. I didn't read the reviews very thoroughly and ended up in the dining room instead of the taproom as expected, but we decided to stay just for the aesthetic. The ambiance is trendy-casual, and the decor really lends itself to that vibe: a plant wall, really nice white brick that I resisted taking photos in front of, beautiful wood accents, and really cool lighting. The dining is nice and bright which is great for food photography. Of course, it IS a brewery so it gets quite loud and the noise does echo a bit but I didn't have a problem hearing my neighbor's conversation (the wall-side tables are pretty close together). The food was pretty good!! I ordered the duck, which comes beautifully plated atop edamame, cashews, and cashew-turnip purée (not mashed potatoes as my inner university student was hoping). It was topped with edible flowers, which was a nice touch especially considering my 48-hour food network binge which I am still recovering from. It tasted pretty good - the duck wasn't as tender as I was hoping, but the elements of the dish really complemented each other. I tried some of my boyfriend's chicken and whew - a little salty, but extremely tender and juicy. I'll probably get that the next time! The reasons for the 4/5 instead of 5/5 is because the price was a little high for the overall experience, the beer was just okay, and the people next to us got a really smelly fish plate that we could not escape (the tables are a litttttle too close together). The seating situation was confusing and the servers running around have to keep explaining to each new party how it works (seat yourself, but there's servers, unless you're in certain areas, but they do want to seat you on the patio?) If there's a Bloody Mary on the menu- I'm probably going to order it. It's rare to find a Bloody with scotch and tequila in it in Cbus and this one exceeded my expectations. The perfect hint of smokiness. I enjoyed it so much I came back the next day on SUNDAY. However this time the bloody was no where near the same in taste. The alcohol in it tasted harsh instead of complimentary to the drink and the tomato base seemed really watery. It could have been the simple mistake that it wasn't shaken. But even a different glass was used... Just sayin- lock the Bloody Mary game down because it was SO amazing last Saturday but then couldn't even finish my Bloody on Sunday... Lots of great reviews, so here's what you need to know: 1. Industrial styled space with bench seating - gets chilly here in the winter, but perfectly pub/beer garten seating arrangement. It's downtown, so mostly paid surface lots or metered parking. Maybe carpool or rideshare, or at least leave a few extra minutes to find a space. 2. Side door for the taproom is off of Hickory St. Restaurant entrance is on Fourth St. If you aren't looking for a full restaurant experience, the taproom is the best bet - more shareable items, sandwiches, and a happy hour from 3 - 7PM. Check online if they are having any private events in the taproom before you head out. The restaurant does dynamite brunch! I'm too cheap to pay for the dinner prices, but the food here is delicious. Fancy but not overwhelmingly so, and also ingredients I can actually pronounce. A bit rich for my blood, but great for a special occasion. Make a reservation. 3. BEER. Seriously one of the best breweries in Columbus. There isn't a beer here that I've tried that I haven't liked. They have found a way to create beers with inventive complimentary flavors/accents that don't completely overwhelm the fact that the brew itself is solid. Case in point - Clear Sky, which is a smooth and easy drinking cream ale that is good as-is, but INSANE when used with other flavor profiles. I've had a key lime version, an orange version, and their Daybreak (coffee and vanilla) is probably my favorite beer. Like, ever. You will definitely find something here to like. Met here with some friends for drinks, food, and discussion. It was great. We were there for over 5 hours and spent the first couple chatting and having a couple drinks. Usually I'm hit or miss on drinks I order but I loved everything I had. The Clear Sky was light and refreshing - it had a slight taste of honey to it, but without being sweet. We also enjoyed the Dire Wolf, Hefeweizen, and the Stone Temple. We also split the Seacuterie, poutine, and chicken drumsticks appetizers. They were all very good, and we later ordered more of the drumsticks. The service was excellent. Our servers realized we were there to relax and talk for a while - they kept our waters full and continued to check in on us without being intrusive. It was a great place to talk as well. It's a nice environment and was pretty quiet (it was midday on a weekday). read more

I've been here twice with coworkers and had a great experience both times! The restaurant is in the front and has an industrial vibe, perfect for a brewery. Our servers were friendly and relaxed, and we had excellent service even though we were a large group. The food is why I'm giving this review five stars. Wolf's Ridge has a great menu with so many unique dishes. The first time I was here I had the scallops with pearl onions and wasabi sea foam which tasted as great as it looked (picture attached). The next time I was here for dinner, I opted for the cashew crusted salmon which I actually liked even better. It was cooked perfectly and had a delicious potato purée and salad as the sides. It was the perfect combo, and I basically licked my plate clean. I would love to come back to Wolf's Ridge if I'm ever in Columbus again. read more

We came here for brunch, and we are so glad that we did! The food was delicious, and they have a great variety of good beer on tap! We had a mimosa and a Bloody Mary to start, but once our food came we switched to beer. All good and we both left very happy! Two thumbs up read more

My favorite spot for brunch in the city. Their Bloody Maria is killer!! I sometimes ask them to make one when I visit for dinner :) The scotch in it makes all the difference and I don't even like scotch! Menu changes with the seasons which I enjoy. Whether for brunch or dinner I've never had anything I haven't enjoyed. The only drawback for me is the ambience - it gets super loud when full and it's mostly communal seating even with reservations. read more

Not a lot of places can get five stars, but this place deserves six! We ordered small plates to start, Spinach Gnocchi and the Bruschetta (?). They were both beautiful and extremely flavorful. The gnocchi stood out because it was full of textures and balance. Then we had main plates, the Duck and a Steak. Cooked to perfection, both of them! With beautiful balance of flavors, these plates were remarkable. I highly recommend the Panna Cotta for desert. It is a vanilla pana cotta with subtle grapefruit bursts of flavor. The service was friendly, professional, and made great recommendations regarding the beer, which were all great choices. I would travel across the world to get to eat here again. read more

I just ate the BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH OF MY LIFE thanks to this place. It was so good. I had to pick it up and commit to not putting it down before finishing it all. It was huge. Needed both hands. Drippy from the slaw. You could still taste the delicious chicken glaze through that fresh light taste. Great bun. Red onions are my fave. Also the garlic fries were perfectly done. Crisp. Thin.
