First day was in the office where topics were covered via PowerPoint presentation and Pete allowed us to do dry firing with airsoft guns. Second day was at the range for about 1.5hr where he taught us safe operation (i.e. grip, stance, aiming, accuracy, loading, unloading). Special remarks: Pete's dedication to gun safety and safe gun operation is apparent in the way he teaches. He is passionate about safety and an enthusiastic teacher which made the class fun. One of his most valuable strengths is that he was able to teach in a way that I could understand. (Side note: I am afraid of guns but took this class to combat that fear!) Pete was able to keep the class engaged, provided constructive feedback, and attention to detail. With his guidance and support, I was able to see a significant improvement in my grouping and decrease my fear of guns overall. We ended up coming here to do a PPT since it was in the middle for both of us. Finished everything and on the way home got a call there was a small error on the paperwork , luckily they were able to fix it on their end. Fast forward to this last experience, Took my 2.0 in for a port/window and Cerakote job. Was given 2-3 week time frame. Messaged them 2 weeks in to get an update and see if it was possibly ready. Responses I got made me feel unsure what was going on but just let it be and decided to wait for them to follow up for my pick up. 7 weeks passed by and I had not received any update or heard from them so I decided to send a text. Turns out my gun had been ready. Went to pick it up, and they gave it back to me completely disassembled (springs, cover plate, etc.) with the parts in a bag. I Asked if they don't put it back together since I brought it all put together and they had taken it apart. Employee said a gun smith just came in so he can ask them. Other employee at front asked which gun it was then said he would do it because gunsmith doesn't work on that. Began to work on it then said he realized it was my order and mentioned how there was something with the Cerakote being super thick and that a part wasn't sitting right and ended up having to take it to the back. Brings it back out together which is when I saw how the screw wasn't sitting flush and looked like maybe it was stripped. He took it to the back again and fixed it. (I noticed the sights were also scuffed up a bit but didn't even want to bother with it at that point) Only reason I'm doing 2 stars is because I liked the cerakote and port/window job. (Yelp won't let me organize the order of the images so I numbered the order on the picture)

The content was very informative and I was very grateful to be able to pause and return at my convenience. The day of test, you were given a location to meet in Moorpark. They would then come pick you and your peers up and take you to a private outdoor range. They insured we had shade, water, and bathroom access. The entire thing was very organized, and I learned more in this class than I have ever in any previous classes. This is a family owned company and my online training and in person training was probably the most thorough course I have ever gone through. Dennis was very professional and was a phenomenal instructor. I will definitely be back for my next renewals.

The whole class felt structured and well run, but still relaxed enough to enjoy. It never felt overwhelming. They have classroom spaces upstairs, which is where my instructor provided a lot of useful, practical information on my firearm: I assembled my AR on my own and learned quite a bit during that process, but he further showed me how to disassemble it completely (I purchased a complete upper so didn't know how the BCG fully operated) and best practices for using and cleaning it. Then we went down to lane 18 for hands-on training. Shot about 100 rounds -- my instructor helped me zero in both my iron sights and a red dot with magnifier I installed on my AR. Everyone there seemed to be expert firearms owners, which is a good thing vs. people who are unsafe and not following safe usage guidelines (I've heard other ranges in L.A. County allow newbies on the range without instruction -- not a good idea for obvious safety reasons). I also like that they have a lounge area where people who are not shooting can still look through thick glass/plexiglass and be safe doing it. Also, they provide a sink and soap so you can wash your hands afterwards (hint: you don't want gunpowder or other after-effects of shooting on your hands should law enforcement pull you over for another reason). You can rent a lane by the hour ($25/hour). No reservations so first come, first served. Will definitely be going back here for more practice. Recommended!
