This is an AMAZING place! I'm not usually a fan of all you can eat type restaurants, but this one is well worth the visit! Such a great variety of foods! The service is VERY good, with just the right amount of checking back with each table, without being intrusive. The building is also worth seeing, quite historic. My diet wouldn't allow coming here often, but it'd be worth bringing others here that haven't ever been. OH! And SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT!!!

Drove up to the Golden Eagle Ferry from St Charles, MO to have a birthday lunch with my best friend's family at this quaint little place. I arrived early and the owner gave me a little tour/history lesson after I asked if there were any books for sale about the history of the hotel. She told me it had been a boarding house and was owned by the same family for 6 generations I believe. All the previous owners picture's cover the walls. The old mercantile is located between the bar and the restaurant and holds antiques and collections from the past. Food is $20/person and is a fixed menu all-you-can-eat meal (fried chicken, beef is extra, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans, coleslaw, beets, pickles, apple sauce, boiled sausage, rolls with butter) served family style. No to-go boxes are allowed. Drinks and dessert is extra. Cash or check only. Nice Sunday drive through the orchards and a ride on the ferry made the day.

Fried chicken and roast beef. Green beans, mashed potato and gravy, noodles.

Great service. Fried chicken was very moist. Loved the roast beef. All the side dishes were very good. You won't go away hungry. Had a 10 minute wait on a very good day. Will return soon when the Eagles arrive for the season.

It was a Friday during Lent and I went to Delmar Public House to enjoy their Fish & Chips. Well,…read morethat didn't happen. In addition to their regular menu, DPH always has a Weekly Special Menu. Once I saw what the weekly special pasta was, I had to have it. I am a huge fan of Smoked Salmon and they did theirs in house. The pasta not only had the smoked salmon, it also had sautéed red onion, a tangy European style cream cheese sauce and cavatappi pasta with fried cappers and fresh dill. The cream sauce was perfect. It was just a light covering, enough for flavor without being overwhelming. As always, the portion was healthy, so I had leftovers for the next days lunch. I enjoyed it chilled and it was like eating a cold pasta salad. DPH always gets bonus points from me for having eco-friendly to-go vessels. My adult beverage of choice for the seafood pasta, was a glass of Pinot Gris. I prefer a Grigio, but they only had the Gris. Gris is fairly similar to Grigio. I always say, it's like a first cousin, once removed. Service is always top-notch. It doesn't matter if you are sitting at a table or the bar, you'll be treated right.

Literally my favorite restaurant ever, and it's not even close. If you're in the St. Louis area,…read morethe hour long drive is worth it for the hummus alone. Or the sticky toffee pudding alone. Or the soup. Or any of the entrees. If something is on the menu, it's because it's great-- there's no "filler" options or reheated Sysco food. It's the freshest food I've ever had at a restaurant (you can tell it's farm to table/locally sourced) and I don't really know how to describe this but like... after I eat there, I feel full to the point of bursting, but not in a gross way? Like usually when I eat that much I feel kinda sick or nauseous, but that doesn't happen here. And for how high quality the food is, you'd expect a kinda stuffy environment and high price tag, but no! It's got a friendly, laid back vibe with chill (but attentive) staff. Apps are $10 and entrees are $20. They could charge twice as much and I'd still consider it a fair price. As previously mentioned, everything on the menu is amazing so follow your heart and get whatever sounds good. But I'd personally recommend the hummus, grilled bread, and soup as starters (yes, all of them) and don't even THINK about leaving without getting the sticky toffee pudding, even if you split it between a few people. It's exactly how I imagined ambrosia tasting like.

Elevated casual atmosphere that is super family friendly. We sat at a table in the main dining area, which also had a large bar with nice plush chairs. Plenty of TVs on mute if you want to check in on a sports game. Service was 11/10 - seamless, well paced, and very friendly staff Food was 4.5/5 - pretzels, brat, schnitzel were all delicious, best schnitzel Ive had outside of Germany Sadly the apple strudel dessert fell flat (seemed like it was on day 3, soggy pastry and a bit chilled like it was pulled from the fridge and microwaved) Plenty of fun German and Austrian classics, amazing beer, full bar with tasty cocktails, winning atmosphere and excellent service. Definitely worth a visit (or two or 10)

Friendly, welcoming and attentive. I was confused on beers so he let me have a mini tasting of light beers. I'm not sure which one I went with but I believe he said either the house helles or schankbier. Either way they both were tart and bland tasting . Stronger than a cider and a beer. I wasn't sold . For food I ordered the smash burger and fries. It came out fresh and hot but it was just ok! The ambiance of the building is what sold me. The elegance and high ceilings i absolutely loved. They also have the brewery inside the building to gawk and gaze at which was pretty neat. Building was well lit and plenty of seating. I attached the days and hrs of operation and a couple of menu options.
