This was my second visit to this shop. I had a good experience with my inspection last year, and I would absolutely make that known if I had received the same level of service this time. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I recently brought my 2008 vehicle in for an oil change and tire rotation. Immediately after receiving it back, the shifter felt rough and misaligned in a way it had not before the service, and it gets stuck. Because the issue appeared immediately after the vehicle had been in their care, I contacted the shop and reasonably expected them to inspect it as a courtesy before asking me to pay approximately $120 for a diagnostic evaluation, which they required. I was not demanding that the shop automatically pay for a repair, nor did I expect them to diagnose an unrelated shifter problem during an oil change. I simply wanted them to investigate a new issue that appeared immediately after their service and determine whether it could have resulted from how the vehicle was handled under their care. Instead, the owner's response focused on the vehicle's age, mileage, unrelated recommended maintenance, and prior hood damage from a deer accident that occurred in 2018. None of those things explain why the shifter suddenly felt different immediately after the service. The response also unfairly suggested that I was only trying to obtain a free repair and refused to consider any other possibility. That misrepresents both my concern and my intentions. I had planned to return for the other recommended services, including the state inspection, until this happened. Had the shop simply inspected the concern and handled the situation professionally, my review could have been very different. I have no problem acknowledging good service when I receive it, as shown by the fact that I returned after my first visit. This was my experience with Witmer Auto. Rather than investigating a legitimate concern that arose immediately after service, the business shifted the focus toward unrelated issues and made assumptions about my motives. I will not be returning and believe other customers should be aware of how concerns may be handled when something appears wrong after service. Update: After I raised my concerns, the business contacted me by voicemail at approximately 5:07 p.m., after closing. Later that night, at approximately 11:55 p.m., the owner sent me a private Yelp message accusing me of planning to "defame" the business, stating that I was "making a fool" of myself, and telling me, "Call me tomorrow or my attorney will be calling you." I found this late-night communication hostile and intimidating, and it further reinforced my decision not to return or negotiate. read more

I went for an inspection and they faked my car saying it needed new wipers. I went out to my car took a video of me using my wipers and the are crystal clear. Wouldn't recommend this place for anything. It's a scam as i then took my car immediately to another shop for inspection and they passed it with no issues at all. read more

I am a 70 year old retiree, living on a fixed income. Four years ago, I found Wittmer Automotive and found his service to be competent, trustworthy, and reasonably priced. Bryan Beaverson used to recommend only what was necessary, and then perform the service at a very reasonable price that far beat the Nissan Service and other local mechanics. Now Bryan has taken all these seminars and he has become just like all the rest...actually worse. He recommends tons of things that I don't need at steep prices that exceed even the Nissan dealership's prices, never mind those of other local mechanics. On April 15, 2025, I went to Wittmer for a free tire rotation. (On 11/3/22 I had purchased 4 new tires from Bryan for a grand total of $814.92 including alignment. I still have the receipt, which states "free rotation for life of tires".) Adam said the mechanic who performed the tire rotation noticed I was due for a PA inspection, and I went ahead. I was told that I failed the inspection because I needed new windshield wiper blades. (On April 10, 2025, Nissan service had done a free multi-point inspection, and when I asked them to be sure to check the wipers, they said they were fine.) I was quoted a high price for the blade replacement (I think it was around $65), and told them that I had purchased blades from Amazon to have as back-ups for around $17, and that I would install them myself. Adam said that was fine, and that all I had to do was install them, and bring the car back by April 30, and that there would be no additional charge and they would put the new sticker on provided the wipers worked satisfactorily. The next day, however, Adam called me and said they had "had a meeting" and informed me that the new policy is that I would have to pay for an entire new inspection! I told Adam that I respected their decision for future reference, but would hold them to their word of no additional charges when I brought the car back in. He refused, said there would be a charge. I told him I wanted to discuss the matter with Bryan. I came in on April 29 with my new blades installed. Adam refused to budge, and I asked to speak with Bryan, who came in from the garage and apparently had been listening to the entire conversation. Not knowing he'd been eavesdropping, I started to explain why I shouldn't be charged, since I was told "no charge" the day of the inspection. He sharply yelled "QUIET!" and told me that he'd heard the whole conversation I'd had with Adam. I stood wide-eyed and stunned at his rude demeanor, and let him speak. He did explain the new PA law/policy, and I listened. Then I spoke my piece, stating that I understood he had a new policy by which I would abide in the future, but insisted that they honor their word on this occasion, since I had been told "no charge". Bryan tried to cut me off; he used profanity towards me! I told him I had listened to him, and insisted that he hear me out. I told him that after all his fancy meetings and seminars, he turned out to be just like all the other auto services that I have avoided. I finally caved and said I would pay again for a full inspection, as I just wanted to get out of there. He REFUSED! He said, "I'm done with you!" I said, "I'm done with you, too. The only time you will see me again is for my free rotation for the life of the tires I bought from you" ( a commitment that was documented on the receipt which I still have.). BRYAN REFUSED TO HONOR HIS COMMITMENT to perform any further free tire rotations! I left, never to return. Wittmer Automotive lied to me twice--once regarding no charge for follow up on the wiper blades, and once to honor his documented promise of free tire rotations for the life of the tires I purchased from him! Another issue: On 3/6/24, Bryan had provided me with a laundry list of things I "needed" for my car: battery ($425.83!), transmission service, air filter, rear wiper. I did my due diligence and realized I only needed the transmission service, which he performed 4/16/24. My battery is still fine over a year later. Bryan recommends things that you do NOT NEED! And his prices are higher than competitors'. In summary, I will not return to Wittmer, and he has lost a loyal 5 year customer. Neither will my daughter (who also had a very bad experience there). Bryan is NOT the reputable/honest mechanic that he once was. His prices are extremely high. And worst of all, if you have a disagreement with him, he uses profanity and BREAKS HIS DOCUMENTED COMMITMENTS! CUSTOMER BEWARE! Stay clear of Wittmer Automotive if you want INTEGRITY, professionalism, reasonable pricing, and honest/reliable recommendations about what your car needs!...But then what do I know as a 70 year old female who knows nothing much about cars and is easily fleeced by wolves in sheep's clothing--like Bryan at Wittmer Automotive! read more

I brought my Toyota 4 runner in for inspection and I was very surprised when I received a list of recommended items. I didn't know I had any of the problems until they told me or I would have never known. Bryan did a really great job telling me what was most needed and least needed and was able to do the work the same day I had it in for inspection. I've gone numerous times for oil changes, and every time it has been less than an hour in and out and they even provide me with extra feedback on things my car could use. While the local reviews were positive I had a different experience. My transmission died and my extended warranty recommended Witmer Automotive. If first appeared friendly but I learned that the owner didn't seem to work well with the warranty co. Next, for every telephone call he made to the warranty co. he charged his repair work time to my bill. When he began the work I asked what his estimate of time would be to finish the work he said be patient (huh?!!). When my son-in- law stopped by the store to inquire when he could pick up the car the following week, the owner copped an attitude with him stating, I told ___ to BE PATIENT!!! (Really?!!!) It took a week to get my car "fixed". Although I had a zero deductible, I ended paying $500 out of pocket fee. Almost $200 of it was due to phone calls to the warranty company. The rest seem to be costs that fell under some catch all category. Well, I safely got my car from York to NC later to find my hood when closed was crooked and the steering wheel was off centered. After a week the car began to run sluggish. I finally sold it at a low market value. What I learned is the while the owner my be nice to locals and does good minor repairs, never again will I go to this shop for repairs needing the skills of a specialist. Cash is not King! Horrible service. No one calls back or answered their phone. We took our car there for a tune up.. took them 3 days to service our car and check the check engine light. Not only did no one call us to update us on the status of our car, when we were finally able to pick it up, we find a huge hole on our bumper. Called them up but if course no one answered.
