My husband has used Firestone in York before for smaller issues and we never had an issue. On 6/26/26 he was on the way home from work and felt the car not engaging and was lagging. He felt for sure it was a transmission issue. He took it to Firestone. They "ran diagnostics" and told him he needed a tune up with new spark plugs. Great! Not what we had expected to hear. They performed the tune up and sparkly replacement, we paid the $624 and when he turned on the car he heard a terrible whining noise. He turned it off and went back in to the shop. They told him that they can "run diagnostics" the next day. We waited all day to hear from them, finally my husband called and they told it was the transmission! So we wasted $624 when they should've told us about the transmission the day before! Had we been able to make an educated decision on Saturday, we would've taken it to a shop that could tell us about what we needed with the transmission. We feel swindled out of our money! While $624 to Firestone isn't a lot of money, $624 is A LOT of money to hard working people! A full refund should be given to us for this poor service! Shame on you! Firestone just lost a customer and worse, will have future bad word of mouth advertising. read more

I brought my vehicle to Firestone on June 15 for a PA State Inspection. Located on. 180 N Northern Way, York, PA 17402 I dropped my car off at approximately 11:10 AM and received a call at 12:15 PM stating that my vehicle was ready. When I arrived at 12:23 PM, I was informed that the inspection could not be passed because the two front tires needed to be replaced. Although only the front tires were needed, I decided to replace all four tires based on the recommendation provided. I was told the tire replacement would take approximately 45 minutes. Instead, I ended up waiting nearly four additional hours. During that time, I observed the technician assigned to my vehicle moving and working on other vehicles while mine remained unfinished. When I asked about the delay, another employee casually stated that the service would take four hours. This was never communicated to me upfront and was completely different from the original estimate I was given. My final bill was approximately $720 after discounts, including the inspection, four tires, and wheel alignment. My issue is not only the cost, but the lack of communication, poor time management, and overall customer service. And then charged for four hours of labor I have had four tires replaced before, along with inspections, and the work was completed in a fraction of the time. If the service was truly going to take four hours, that should have been communicated from the beginning. Instead, I spent most of my day waiting with little explanation while other vehicles appeared to be prioritized. Based on this experience, I would not return to this location and would not recommend it to others. I don't normally go to a chain auto shop but their lifetime alignment is too good to pass up. The employees at this location are honest and quick. My most recent alignment only took 20 minutes. They have coffee, restrooms and a TV that only ever plays Friends whenever I'm there. They're also nice enough to do alignments sooner than the every 6 months policy and they've never tried to trick me like some other shops. Highly recommended for the lifetime alignment. read more

We stopped in here because we found a nail in our truck tire. They took us right away, super nice! They were awesome, luckily turns out it was a screw but did not actually pierce the tire! I had a 12:00 appt for an oil change. My car still had not been moved to the back for service at 12:45. I asked if there was a problem. They said that have an hour after appointment time to get it to the back and I was still within the time and they would get to it within 15 more minutes. at 1:15 I still was not waited on, so i took my keys back and left. I have bought tires for several of my cars and a few batteries as well. They always manage to get my car in for service in a pinch when an emergency should occur. Such as a flat tire or dead battery. Have been using these guys for years now. So I brought daughters car in today for inspection, oil change and tire rotation. She also needed her front headlight bulb replaced. I bought and tried to do myself, but couldn't get the cover screw off. So I figured I'd ask them to quickly swap out bulb for while they were doing work. Something a trained guy could do in 5 mins. ( Normally, I could in 10 to 15). Guy says no problem. Get home and look at invoice. I see they charged me 58 F ing dollars to replace bulb, that I gave him. Really?? I called and asked and his response was ... Labor is 80 something an hour. So it took over half hour to replace? I am not happy and seriously considering switching places now. Now I don't expect to get anything free in this world, but 58 to change a light bulb? Then they forgot to note on invoice that tires were rotated. He's swears they were, but how can I trust him? Don't want my kids tires to wear uneven. Really unhappy with today's service. read more

On 10/28/22 I was driving in Firestone's parking lot and a technician that was moving a car backed into mine. The store manager,Josh Heston has completely dropped the ball and been of no help. It's been 32 days and I still have no resolution. I've been left to fend for myself as Josh has not reached out to me nor helped in any way. It is his responsibility as the store manager to "manage!" My car has 2505 in damages and the repair shop needs to keep it for a week. I would not trust this business with anything. read more

Went in for a small repair, spark plugs and coil. Was told it was $348 on the phone (which is a ripoff as it is) and then was blindsided when they said 490 when I arrived. Keith or Kenneth, lied to my face saying that he told me prior there would be an additional $100 charge. Manager removed the charge when he was called. This place is extremely expensive at borderline price gouging rates. DEFINITELY DO NOT COME HERE. If you already have, don't let them scam you if they add on an extra $100, tell them you won't pay. read more

I have been going to this shop for almost 10 years. I just recently starting having an issue. Back in January I had an oil change and they never changed my oil. The only reason I found out is because my oil light came on 1500 miles later. This month I took my sons used car to get it inspected. They called and said all these other things needed to be done to pass inspection. $2100.00 worth of stuff. His car only had 56,000 miles on it. I told them we weren't doing it. So they charged me $99 for looking at it. I took it to another shop. I didn't even need most of the stuff they listed. I had them do the two things I knew it needed. I understand they have lost a lot of business, however being dishonest they will lose even more. We have five cars and will not be returning. read more

PLEASE do not go here. My father has had so many issues with them. My father knows car but is older so would go to them just so he didn't have to do it himself. He's had so many issues. They've lied about rotating his tires and all kinds of other issues. I've been going there for years for oil changes and we recently discovered that they've been using the wrong oil in my car for god knows how long now. My car requires synthetic and they've been purposely using regular... My car literally could be so screwed up from this! And I'm a girl, I don't know shit about cars and I don't see my father that often. I'm absolutely livid. They lie and they cheat. I have been a customer of Firestone for many years and this is one of the worst ones I have dealt with for service. After our first visit they told us the car was fixed and not 2 miles from the store it broke down again. Went back to Firestone they found other problems. When we asked if you drove it we were told they did drive it in the parking lot. I have never had a Firestone store not perform a road test after performing service. So on the second try Firestone told us they had codes for one of the sensors but we should probably replace another one as well since it usually goes bad at the same time. We had them replace the sensor that had the codes and then it there were still problems replace the other. So Firestone replaced the one sensor told us it was fixed and gave it back. This time we got a little farther with more problems. Again no road test only a parking lot test. Not very happy with their service and the Manager did not seem to care. I gave them one star because you have to give at least one. read more
