I brought my car in late May to get my rear driver's side tire replaced. During the visit, staff insisted I also needed a brake replacement in order to pass inspection, which I had done there as well. When I later took my car to the dealership for a routine inspection, it failed -- because the tire Mavis installed was a street tire, while all three of my other tires were off-road tires. Mismatched tire types across an AWD vehicle is a serious issue, and I was specifically told at Mavis that it would not cause any damage to my AWD system. That assurance turned out to be false: the mismatch caused the drivetrain to bind, and my rear differential gears ground down from the offset, resulting in real mechanical damage. I ended up having to replace all four tires and now have to deal with repairing the differential damage -- an expense and inconvenience that should never have happened if the correct tire had been installed the first time, or if I'd been given accurate information about the risk. read more

Every time I took my car to this shop it came out with a new ride issue. Got one tire replaced, came out with an alignment issue. Got another tire replaced, came out with an alignment issue and now it shakes. Keep in mind that Mavis includes tire balancing when they put on a new tire. When I went to the dealer to get these issues resolved, my alignment was off and 3 tires were unbalanced. How is that even possible.. would not recommend this shop. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. They over charged me for the cost of the mounting/balancing of my tires. Then they mounted my tire the wrong way. How do you do that you ask, the tire was clearly marked "inside" but they had it facing "outside". Scott was beyond rude. He talks over you when you try to explain the issue. Had to make another 25 mile trip to have the tire corrected and Scott couldn't have cared less. Not even "sorry". So very sad. read more

Appt for tires & inspection. FOUR HOURS later, told needed a new brake or fail inspection. I told them to fail it&I would go to my regular mechanic. I got a flat tire 270 miles from home and the Mavis Tire Shop at 3410 Hartzdale Dr., Camp Hill, PA took care of me. The assistant manager, Cody, showed tremendous compassion for my situation. His kindness went way beyond what was called for. He was knowledgeable and accommodating, which is lost in today's world of customer service. Mike made this car rookie's experience getting all new tires a breeze. I set up a time slot online and went in the next day nervous I would be obviously unfamiliar and get scammed. I was nervous for no reason. I felt like the assessment of what would meet my needs best was fair and honest. My car was done in about two hours with a realignment and I was a few hundred under my budget including the $10 repair insurance per tire I ended up getting. I hope I won't need to use the Mavis network for any more emergencies, but if I do, I hope they have more employees like Mike! read more

Made a Sunday appointment for 4 new tires and an alignment. Dropped my car off Saturday afternoon so they could get right on it Sunday morning. Called them at noon and they had no idea where my paperwork was and had not started on it. They said it would be done by 5pm. Went there at 4:15 and they said they did not have the tires in and could not get them because the warehouse was closed so the car could not be done today. REALLY... what is the purpose of making an appointment. I use the car to door dash and had to take time off which cost me money. VERY unreliable and unprofessional. Horrible horrible place! New mechanics who don't know what they're doing according to the girl who works there mentioned they're new and slow! I had them change and put on 4 new tires and do an alignment. The tires are good tires and they ride nice. however there is a bigger more serious problem I never experienced before taking my car here! Took it back They only rebalanced my tires and said they didn't feel anything by driving my car around the parking lot a couple feet! The issue is still there and they said they'd fix it. So I call set up a appointment, show up, 45 min later after watching them do nothing I asked for my keys and left! I do not recommend Craig and the tiny skinny white guy with tattoos on his arm they are horrible at customer service and none of these employees actually cares about you or your car! read more

Stopped by to have a flat fixed and knew that there was a possibility that the tire as well as my other tires just needed to be replaced. The guys were friendly and trustworthy, I ended up replacing all of the tires that day. This place is a JOKE! I had a flat, and needed a tire. They told me I also needed front brake pads......so, I had them put on front brake pads and 4 new tires. When I picked the car up, before getting out of the parking lot, I noticed my brakes didn't work so I told them. They evidently forgot to bleed the brakes, and ontop of that, broke my master cylinder. (Which they never acknowledged)........then, while taking the car home, I noticed a shimmer in the steering wheel, and the car pulled to the right......Long story short, after 5 visits and at times a reluctance to try and resolve my issues and many made up "reasons" for my issues- including , "I had a bent rim" AND , "I needed to purchase a new camber kit" because the one I had purchased a few years earlier no longer could be adjusted. I left the store knowing I didn't want anyone there doing ANYTHING else to my car- because it would only get worse, and be a waste of my time. I read a review about this Mavis while sitting waiting on my vehicle that read a bit like this: " Bring your car here if you want to just bring it back because it's not right" , and "Bring your car here if you want it in worse shape after leaving than when you brought it in". THESE ARE TRUE STATEMENTS!! After today, my car again runs perfectly- just like it did before I had the flat and took it to Mavis. I just brought it home from my local garage, who fixed it without needing a new camber kit and reassured me I did not have any bent rims. BTW- I've never written a review before, but felt compelled to write this one so others don't go through the agony like I did......"steer clear" of this place. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience with the Camp Hill location of Mavis discount tire. When I needed four new tires, my husband recommended that I try this business for the 1st time. From the very first call to schedule, every person I spoke to was knowledgeable, transparent with pricing and friendly. I wish it wasn't so hard to find great service but this experience restored my faith in retail service. They communicated throughout the process. I wish I remembered the name of all who helped but I do remember a young woman named Tori who communicated well and was very friendly. May I also say how nice it was to see women working in the automotive industry. I will definitely use the Camp Hill location in the future and will recommend to others. read more

I purchased and had installed four Mastercraft Courser MSR tires on my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 8K miles on it at your Camp Hill, PA store. Order number was 00007642. My appointment was at 4:00 PM. The tire installation was completed at 5:45 PM. I was extremely disappointed with the time it took for my tires to be installed as I watched the employees, all three of them in the garage, standing together talking for more than a few minutes. I mentioned my concern to Mike who went out and expedited the process. I also earlier saw one of the younger men walking around and playing on his cell phone when he could have been helping the other worker get my tire installation completed. What really upsets me is that I was charged $8.00 for tire recycling when I took my original tires with about 8K miles on them home with me. I did not catch that charge until I got home and was registering my tires online. I immediately called Mike who said he would refund the money when I stop in for a torque check. Was that a mistake or a way to get extra money? Another upsetting matter is a week ago when I stopped in to purchase these tires, almost $600, I saw the price on your website was $114. However, the gentleman who took my order quoted me $129. I corrected him with your website pricing which I showed him on my smart phone. While this was my first time in your store, I was immediately taken aback by what could be perceived as deceptive business practice. The price should be the same whether in store or online. One other matter: The installer failed to mark the tires' positions when he took them off so that they could be appropriately installed on another one of my vehicles to ensure maximum tire wear. The following Sunday I went back for my $8.00 credit and was told they don't issue credit on Sundays! As a follow up to the above, when I received my PA vehicle registration, I went back a week later to get my inspection sticker put on. The invoice given to me had all kinds of wrong information including Vehicle ID number, wrong year of vehicle, wrong outgoing mileage etc. I requested a corrected invoice both from the store manager and from the regional manager. My requests were ignored. So I have filed a complaint with the PA Attorney General's Bureau of Consumer Protection. read more

A business with 'tire' in the name accepts my appointment, but when I arrive, they don't have the tires. Booked an appointment online 3 days before the scheduled appointment for tires. Checked in and after desk attendant found me under online scheduling, he went back to the service bay. After about 10 minutes, he comes back and tells me they don't have the tires I booked to have placed on my vehicle. He said he could order them, but it would be almost a week later. I left. Because the business is new to the area, I thought I would give them a chance. I did and they failed. One positive in this whole situation, they do offer free air. read more

Oh my goodness. You guys. I can't come here without some kind of careless mistake happening. One time they entered my 12:00 pm appointment time as "120" which meant I wasn't on the system. One time they replaced TPMS sensors then realized they had forgotten to charge their TPMS programming device, so had to remove the new sensors. Another time they lost my key. Another time they put my appointment on the wrong day. They have good prices and they're friendly. All of this happened during the Spring and Autumn of 2021. read more

made an appt week ahead of time , got to appt and did not have tires in stock, never called. no apology. my ride and I got up early for nothing ! had to reschedule appt week later after they ordered tires. the staff stands around and talks way too much, while your waiting on your vehicle. PLEASE PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING HERE. I'm usually the last person to ever post a review no matter how bad a service is, but no one should have to go through what I have the last week. I got 2 nails in my tire Friday night. Called Mavis Saturday morning to get the same tires because I originally got it from them over 2 years ago and loved them. I was told they didn't have the tires in stock, but they would order them and they would be there Saturday night. I was told I could come in Sunday at 9:30AM and they would put them on. I got there Sunday and was told there would be a 3 to 4 hour wait because there was only 1 person working. I said that's fine I guess and got a ride. While waiting on my ride, I was told the tires that were ordered actual aren't at the shop. I ended up picking out different tires because I needed it done. After walking out to my car, I noticed the wrong size tires were put on. I told the shop about 5 different times what my tires size was and they still got it wrong. Then when I went back into the shop to tell them, I was advised that I actually now had another customer's tires on my car. Sorry for that customer. I was then told they would order the original tires and they wouldn't be there until Tuesday. I said the earliest I could get in was Thursday so they scheduled me then and I went on my way driving on the wrong tires for the next 4 days. I go to the shop on Thursday, drop the car off, only to recieve a call that THE WRONG TIRES WERE ORDERED AGAIN. I'm pretty furious at this point and they offered me free services but I didnt want anything to do with those especially if you can't handle getting the right tires on the car. Well I simply just asked for my money back at this point and was told I would get a refund. They told me they ordered the correct tires and could put them on Saturday. I FINALLY got the right tires put on and was still advised I would get my refund back. You all know how these corporate shops work, and of course no refund. I spoke to the regional manager and was advised the best he could do is a $150 store credit. Why would I want this shop doing ANYTHING else to my car? When I tried to ask what the difference is between a store credit and just putting the money on my card I couldn't get an answer. I then spoke to the regional director who advised me that I could again recieve the store credit. I told him again I do not want the store credit and will never be back at any Mavis and all they could talk about was the store credit. They do not care about their customers at all and only want money. They had no concern for me because they weren't the ones that had to go back to the shop 3 times. If there is one positive I could get out of this, it's that the employees in the store were actually very kind, despite all the mistakes made. I am definitely going to let everyone know never to go to Mavis to get anything done after this. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere reliable that doesn't just want your money. read more

Made an appointment for 4 new tires. Received 2 confirmation emails regarding my appointment. I was greeted, told to have a seat and they would take care of my car. I waited for an hour, was called up to the desk to be told that they did not get my tires in. I asked why I was not called before showing up, or told when I walked in and no answers could be provided for me. I asked why my car was even up on the lift if they knew they didn't have my tires. I was offered to re-book for the following week, I asked if they could be sure my tires would be in and I was told, "they should arrive 2 hours before your appointment if we can get the order approved". I was beyond furious and disappointed in the lack of communication from the company. I asked for my car back and I left. I called Customer Support and I was told that a regional manager would be giving me a call back. I did not get a call back.
