I had requested a state inspection here for the first time…read more Unfortunately, the techs doing the inspections failed my car for a brake pad but passed emissions, however, they didn't add the sticker to the car. Instead, they went home for the day, without calling me & left my car in the garage. I called at 6:20pm to figure out the status of my car & was told they didn't finish it up & asked if they could call me in the morning. I said ok, then realized they were trying to keep my car overnight, and walked over to retrieve it. The man at the front desk was kind & actually informed me of the things wrong on my car, added some oil to it & checked me out. Unfortunately, I had to bring the car back to get the emission sticker which I was told would only be a few minutes. Well, i once again was waiting for an hour before they let me leave. The tech parked my car right in front of the door & i sat there waiting for them to call me over for what must've been 5-10 minutes. After they called me over they informed me that I need a brake pad, explained the state requirement & then said id need brakes & rotors in the future. They also said I have an exhaust leak, which is just a flange on the rear pipe. I informed them we already ordered brakes & rotors and that we were repairing the leak ourselves & they still sent me a work up of how much it would be for them to do this, $2000. Insane pricing! Thankfully, we can do it ourselves. Then because of the bad experience I had, they offered me a free oil change but I informed them we do those ourselves too. Nothing else was offered. If the retest wasn't free, id avoid going back here.

I purchased tires online and had the option to ship them directly to my local Monro location for installation--plus, I could schedule my appointment online at checkout. Super easy, super efficient! I booked an 8 a.m. Monday appointment (which also happened to be a federal holiday) and called Monro directly to confirm. Mark, the Service Manager, was friendly and helpful--he confirmed my appointment and assured me the tires would arrive in plenty of time. So far, so good! When I arrived, the shop was buzzing with customers--walk-ins with flats, scheduled appointments, and phones ringing nonstop. Still, Mark and his teammate were cool under pressure, hustling to help everyone and keeping the place running smoothly. I settled into the waiting area, got some work done, and barely had time to finish a few emails before, an hour later, my tires were done! Efficient, reliable, quality mechanics are a dying breed--but lucky for me, Monro has at least two of them at their Mechanicsburg location. I'll absolutely return for future service needs.

Long story short - their head mechanic didn't know how to check oil properly on her Nissan crossover? (name escapes me) Three times in the shop and they tell her the oil is over full. I go in, act dumb and ask if they could show me how to check the oil since I got blamed for it anyway "your dad is over filling it" Stooge pulls dip stick and proclaims "see overfill again by twice" Me - "flip that dip stick over" Dude had no words because the other side had NOTHING on it because they drained 5 quarts the day before because "it was overfilled" I promptly asked the gentleman "if you toss a stick in a bucket of oil, is it possible to only get oil on one side of said stick?" Note: these cars/engines have an oil drain back hole directly above the dip stick which covers it with oil several inches up the stick, on one side. Even a moron knows to wipe the stick and reinstall to check and look at both sides. A not-so-certified village idiot should know these cars are best checked after they have sat awhile, regardless this poor village idiot was happy to run out 5 minutes after we arrived and check it without ever having a towel in mind. Way to go imbecile. Needless to say, it never left the place and the motor was hammering because they told her to run it and I want putting oil in it again for them to blame me for overfilling. A few days later we stopped in and find in an attempt to get the warranty co to pay for a motor, they blew it up. The one lucky actually told us what they were doing. Obviously totally oblivious to the fact he was saying they were trying to commit insurance fraud. Good luck if you go here or if, like my kid, AutoMax sends you here because their shop is backed up. These geniuses will fix your vehicle right up like Dewey, Cheatum & Howe, attorneys at law would fix you up on legal issues. Well, that statement isn't fair. The 3 stooges deserve more credit than that when it comes to being lawyers.

I told her that's impossible, I texted my husband 7/23 & wrote on calendar. She said well I cant get you in now until 8/21. I thought that was too far ahead & she put our appt incorrectly. We went elsewhere (Crowne Auto next day appt) so we didnt have a chance to use their service. Rep should write in appts as she gives them on the phone to better organize for future clients.
