One was from a major car dealer who basically told me that the used cars are "as is" and whatever I find wrong with the car is my responsibility. This was after I purchased the car and on the way home the check engine light came on. I was furious and knew for sure that I had been scammed. But couldn't do anything about it and they didn't even want to check to see what was wrong with the car. Long story short, the car had major oil leaking problems and water coming inside the car every time it rained. I was never going to buy another used car. But I saw a Facebook post for a particular model of Mini that I have always wanted. I went to just take a look and so I drove all the way from MD to PA. Upon getting there I met with Todd who is one of the owners of the Sports Car Center and he explained how he had done a long list of repairs and maintenances on the car. "Yea right, sure..." I was thinking. The car was beautiful. But of course it was hard to believe and trust another person who was trying to sell me a used car. But Todd seemed really honest and genuine. I also met his father who started the business and kept it going all these years. Obviously they would not have been able to do that if they would have practiced dishonest business practices over the years. After a test drive and reading a few other reviews online, I decided to get the car. For at least a week I was on the edge, every time I would find something not quite right or hear a funny engine sound I would call Todd. And EVERY SINGLE TIME, he returned my call promptly and explain things and worked with me to make things right or to give me assurances that there is nothing wrong with the car. It has been an incredible experience considering the Mini was 13yrs old. Everything could have gone wrong and a terrible disaster. But now, I feel very comfortable and know that I purchased the car as described and promised by the seller for the first time in a long time. I would buy another car if I need to at Sports Car Center from Todd. And I would highly recommend anybody to buy a car from Todd at Sports Car Center or get repairs done knowing you really can trust this Shop. I must say that jack's delivers on so many levels. first off, they came highly recommended by at least four different people that have been in the area for a looong time. they have a nice sized lot. the office does look a little older, but i believe they've been around for a long time. i have been there twice already in a short period of time. i've had both major work and minor work done there. and each time i have been very happy with the service. jack's has been nothing but flexible in regards to scheduling, dropping off and picking upmy car. and they have been by far the best cust svc i have experienced in a very long time. they have always answered their phones and returned calls and even provided follow up calls. I know that sounds standard, but if you've been to a nbr of garages you will know that it is not the norm. not only that, but they are prepared with plenty of drop envelopes for key drops... they keep your contact information on file. just very considerate of customer interactions. and the workers (three of whom i've spoken with in person or on the phone) all seem genuinely nice. that paired with the so far exceptional work they have done, i am already a loyal customer! :o) other garages no more! ;o)

Fortunately for…read moreme, unfortunately for my kid, I knew all about these wanna-be mechanics from a few years back. Long story short - their head mechanic didn't know how to check oil properly on her Nissan crossover? (name escapes me) Three times in the shop and they tell her the oil is over full. I go in, act dumb and ask if they could show me how to check the oil since I got blamed for it anyway "your dad is over filling it" Stooge pulls dip stick and proclaims "see overfill again by twice" Me - "flip that dip stick over" Dude had no words because the other side had NOTHING on it because they drained 5 quarts the day before because "it was overfilled" I promptly asked the gentleman "if you toss a stick in a bucket of oil, is it possible to only get oil on one side of said stick?" Note: these cars/engines have an oil drain back hole directly above the dip stick which covers it with oil several inches up the stick, on one side. Even a moron knows to wipe the stick and reinstall to check and look at both sides. A not-so-certified village idiot should know these cars are best checked after they have sat awhile, regardless this poor village idiot was happy to run out 5 minutes after we arrived and check it without ever having a towel in mind. Way to go imbecile. Needless to say, it never left the place and the motor was hammering because they told her to run it and I want putting oil in it again for them to blame me for overfilling. A few days later we stopped in and find in an attempt to get the warranty co to pay for a motor, they blew it up. The one lucky actually told us what they were doing. Obviously totally oblivious to the fact he was saying they were trying to commit insurance fraud. Good luck if you go here or if, like my kid, AutoMax sends you here because their shop is backed up. These geniuses will fix your vehicle right up like Dewey, Cheatum & Howe, attorneys at law would fix you up on legal issues. Well, that statement isn't fair. The 3 stooges deserve more credit than that when it comes to being lawyers.

Never have I felt taken advantage of. I said to the person I have 4 kids and need some sort of reassurance this 700 will prevent it from crapping out on the Highway. They replied " you are asking me to be able to look in a crystal ball". I don't feel like I am I just would like to know I won't be in next week again. They said the car looks like it's never had a tune up which is weird because I've taken it to them since I bought it in 2019. I'm not sure what they missed or maybe I didn't ask the right questions. But I definitely feel like something is wrong. I told them to do the repairs. Unfortunately since that's the only car that fits all of us we don't have time to get a second opinion. There is usually a bit of a wait to get in with them, but it's worth it. I will go there for anything I need any time I can forever. His prices were fair and the service performed was excellent. Of all things, my issue was with the compressor motor for the AC unit and in an older car that can lead some mechanics to tell you 50 other things you should replace. He wasn't like that at all. Absolutely trust this place and plan to go back again when my new odyssey is out of warranty.
