The manager is very laid back and hooks me up once in awhile with a good deal or tells me "don't worry about it" if I pop in for a tire rotation. A lot of the time (not always) you can just show up and they can take a look at minor problems right away. For more complex issues, you should contact them after booking an appointment to make sure it's a good day to take your car or if they're too booked because it seems like the website does not have their schedule synced so you can book times that may not be good for them. These guys always come in clutch when I'm jammed up and none of my 'go-to' mom and pop's can check out my car in short notice. They've saved me at least twice by fixing my car before my shift started and I'm grateful to have a Mavis with such a great team.

Last year when I went for inspection I was given a list of recommended items which totaled over $1200. Brooks/Huff looked at the car's age and mileage and realized that a 15 year old car that has only a little more than 43000 original miles isn't driven hard and even the rear brakes that the Volvo dealer said "last" year needed replaced were OK due to limited use. Went here a week ago to have the winter tires swapped on my wife's car. The mechanic was efficient…read moreand patient. He caught a problem with one of the studs on front wheel. A lot of other guys would have overcome the problem with brute force and an impact wrench. He correctly diagnosed the problem as damaged threads from a previous installation. Replaced the studs and I was on my way, saving me and my wife from the potential of a really bad day if that tire ever had to be changed at roadside. I am extremely happy that we have such a competent and conscientious mechanic in the area. I will be back.

EDIT: The sputtering is a "misfire". I saw the completion report. It says "misfire may return"…read more $1900 later and I may have to deal with this again in six days. Do yourself a favor!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY I took my car there for engine "sputtering". In six days, after a $360 repair, and what I thought was a comprehensive deferred work report...the car started "sputtering" again. I take it back for the "sputtering" and for the recommended repairs only to find out that not one but TWO different belts tore completely in half!! That's an additional $200 that wasn't mentioned in the original deferred work report. I'm no mechanic, but I'm also no fool... belts are designed to withstand normal wear and tear. There was no mention of belt damage, meaning it was not worth mentioning or very minimal. In six days TWO belts completely broke. The report clearly was not comprehensive, or the techs are incompetent. Then to top it off, Kevin, the service manager, tells me that it can happen at any time and to be prepared to replace these belts in six days. He also said I could leave there today, and my muffler rust through by morning. This is a muffler that currently has no noticeable rust or corrosion. Or he could walk outside and break his leg. I'm appalled that he would think that's an acceptable or comparable analogy. His demeanor is very sweet but it's a ploy to make the b.s. that he serves go down very smooth!! It doesn't. And I'll make sure Dylan Cottrell, the owner, knows it!! If your car can make it a little further down the road, you'd be better off taking it to another one of the local mechanics. You'd save money, headaches and aggravation.
