Planned our event with less than two weeks' lead time, while we were all busy and distracted with houseguests and other commitments. A friend recommended getting a Day of Event coordinator and SO glad we did. There's just no way it would have happened at all without Sarah from Without a Hitch. We breezed on in to our own event and she had everything perfectly set up and arranged, well before start time. Our event involved a lot of decorations and displays and we still have no idea how she singlehandedly managed to transport it all there and get everything in place and looking lovely, while also making sure the venue staff set the whole room and food service up as we wanted it. She had us specify everything and defined what she needed from us to make it happen. She came in advance to pack it all up and be sure she was clear on what we wanted, and brought everything to the venue for us. Sarah was professional, unassumingly friendly and hospitable to all our guests, and we got lots of positive comments. She staffed the welcome table leaving us completely free to mingle and enjoy, and made sure everyone got a nametag (and was actually on the guest list) When the time was up and venue staff began clearing the food tables, Sarah unobtrusively packed up our materials without disturbing guests who were still chatting and let us enjoy to the very last possible moment. Then she delivered everything back to our place, so we could go right on with our guests to the next event. Nothing was overlooked, everything was taken care of, she was calm and collected during the event and carried out spontaneous orders like a trooper when we wanted anything changed or addressed. Her positive can-do attitude and encouraging manner made it easy to get our ducks in a row, and made this a very special event free of any fuss or worries. I spoke with several event planning companies before choosing WAH, including those recommended by friends who had lovely weddings. Sarah was recommended by two of the other companies who were not able to handle our event. The only service to get double recommendations from colleagues. I've never used an event planner before and was apprehensive about the cost, but WAH was very clear and responsive to our needs, and very fairly priced in line with the other services I checked. Hiring Without a Hitch was the best decision ever. Our Events Associate was Jillian, who was absolutely wonderful. Sarah was also an amazing and knowledgable resource throughout the entire process. We got married in October 2021 in Cambridge, MA. This was a rescheduled date. We were originally supposed to get married in July 2020, but didn't... for obvious reasons. So, the pandemic and wanting to make sure that we were celebrating safely and responsibly was nerve-racking. On top of that, we were coordinating our Cambridge wedding from Chicago, which came with its own complications. Without a Hitch was guiding us at every step. In that way, the help they provided went well beyond just the day of. Sarah and Jillian were valuable resources leading up to our wedding. When we had questions (and there were many!!), they provided timely and thorough responses via email, and our phone calls were always incredibly helpful and informative. Jillian did such a great job keeping us on track as we got close to the date and helped us put together a detailed timeline. I was so impressed with how on top of everything Jillian was on the day of. She was so calm and in control. She handled all of the communication with our other (wonderful) vendors and always made sure that we had drinks in our hands. If there were any problems, we didn't know about them! We were also so appreciative to have her help with set up and breakdown. Everything looked absolutely perfect. And at the end of the night, she made sure the right things went home with the right people. We really didn't have to worry about a thing. I considered the pros/cons of hiring a day of coordinator vs. a full on wedding planner. I ultimately decided that I wanted to be involved in the planning and details, but didn't want to be stressed and have to deal with the random stuff that inevitably comes up on a wedding day. I also wanted my friends and family members to be able to enjoy the day without needing to worry about the day of details as well. We got exactly that, and more. We had the best time at our wedding. Planning a wedding was stressful, but it was all worth it when we got to relax and enjoy the day we put a lot of time and effort into. I worked with Sarah, the founder of Without a Hitch, for my wedding at Arlington Town Hall on June 4, 2016. I really can't do justice to how organized, helpful, pleasant, intelligent, positive, and skilled Sarah is with words, but I will try! From the moment my husband and I met with Sarah, we knew we were in amazing hands. She kept us on task with a timeline and was so good about checking in throughout the year to make sure we were on track. Knowing I had her on board for questions or suggestions as I was deep into planning was the hugest help and relief. She always responded promptly when I reached out and thoroughly addressed my questions. She provided great suggestions for aspects of the event that I was struggling with, and was able to work through ideas with me to make sure they would translate well on the day. Working with her prior to the wedding was wonderful enough, but the weekend of the wedding she was incredible! I had to bring in a lot of outside things to decorate and set up the space, and in my mind it all seemed very complicated to pull off. As soon as I showed everything to Sarah she knew exactly what to do and made me feel so relieved that it would all get done with no problems. We walked through the space together and it was immediately clear that she saw my vision and would be able to carry it out much more efficiently and beautifully than I would have been able to! On the day of the wedding she was there on time (before me) to set up, and had everything completely under control. I did not have to worry about anything, and everything went smoothly with her at the helm. She was great working with the other vendors and the wedding party, and was a calming and positive influence on the entire day. My husband and I have said over and over AND OVER again how glad we were that we decided to go with Without A Hitch for our wedding. Sarah and our day of coordinator, Diana, were there for us from start to finish. Their services go well beyond the day of coordination, it was so wonderful to have their support along the way. Hands down the best money spent of anything we did. They gave us such great guidance and advice, and thought of things we never would have considered on our own. They also pointed us in the right direction and gave us real world advice when we were uncertain of some of the details in planning. They also recommended some key vendors. We chose our florist and caterer (among other vendors) based on recommendations from Sarah and Diana. We were extremely reassured to know that they had the WAH seal of approval, and could not have been more pleased with their service and value. We mainly worked with Diana leading up to and on the big day. From start to finish she was there at every turn making sure everything went smoothly, and responded to all of my questions right away no matter how trivial. There were many times when, in the throes of planning chaos, I turned to the meticulous timeline they curated for us. It was so comforting to be able to go over the fine details and imagine what the day might hold. On the big day, having Diana there truly allowed us to relax and enjoy ourselves. I honestly have never had more fun! There were many times when we were behind schedule, rushed, and things weren't going exactly according to plan. If you knew me at all, you would know that those kinds of scenarios are totally not my strong suit. However, I never worried for a second, and my enjoyment and peace of mind never faltered for a second, because I knew Diana was there to support us. By the way, it was SO great to roll up to the wedding and have two cold drinks and a tray of appetizers waiting for us. I did not go hungry, that's for sure! I don't even know where to begin, but Without a Hitch and more specifically Ashley is a must book for your wedding day. We had a large, 200 person, formal wedding in the back and side yard of a private home. We turned the yard into a gorgeous venue, and that would not have been done without the help of Ashley! From the first planning meeting, Ashley and Without a Hitch were on top of the timeline formulation. They made sure to raise points that we had not yet thought about in our planning process-- with recommendations on how we should go about completing those tasks. Ashley was always incredibly available via email, to respond to any updates or questions that came up. the timeline was incredible and so helpful for the day. Not to mention she was so sweet, personable, and easy to talk to. Ashley got to the space early, and set it up to look like a dream. She followed all the directions I had laid out, but also used her judgment in areas that needed tweeking. She was at the church setting up, got on the trolley to give out the bridesmaids bouquets, affixed all the groomsmen and fathers boutonnieres, and even opened the doors before I walked down the aisle. When we got to the reception, she checked in with us to see how we were feeling, and what we needed. Let us into the tent so we could see the space before any guests entered it, got us champagne, got the grooms reception jacket to change into. Seriously above and beyond. She coordinated with all the other vendors during the wedding to make sure we were running on schedule. Any time we left the dance floor Ashley was right there to check in on us and see if there was anything we needed. She stayed until the end of the night and made sure the guests all got on the buss to the after party. We truly cannot thank Sarah and Without a Hitch enough for everything she did for us leading up to and on our wedding day! I often joked with my husband during the planning process that she saved my wedding life on more than one occasion and our wedding day was no exception. From the initial consultation I could tell she would be a great fit for us with her superhuman communication skills, organization, and infectious energy. She would check in on us every month to see how we were doing which was extremely helpful. We ended up moving just before our wedding so we are so grateful we had her there to keep us on track during such a hectic time. Her reassurance meant everything to us during planning, anytime we got bogged down with an element of planning Sarah was there to remind us we were in a great spot and doing just fine. Her expertise was also invaluable to us, I remember being really stressed about our shuttle schedule and Sarah hopped on a call to help make a plan. I left that call feeling like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Fast forward to wedding day, Sarah knew what we needed before we did. She knew our priorities for the day and was there every step of the way guiding us through our timeline. One of our biggest priorities for the day (besides marrying each other) was the food. Working with this company was worth every penny--and considering everything they did, it was a bargain! I wanted a day-of coordinator because our reception space needed a lot of coordination and I did not want to ask family or friends to do that, or do it myself. I wanted to enjoy and remember our wedding. That's exactly what happened. Backing up several months, at an initial meeting with Sarah and our coordinator Diana , we talked through all of the details that needed to still be put in place, and we started putting together a timeline. My fiance and I were shocked at how many things we hadn't thought of. I was never someone who daydreamed about my future wedding or pictured what it would look like, and I had never been a bridesmaid or family member helping out, either. So we really had no clue. I also want to add here that some elements of our wedding were non-traditional--we just skipped or changed traditions that didn't speak to us--and Sarah and Diana were totally fine with that. In between the initial meeting and the wedding, Diana checked in with us over e-mail, helped us update our timeline, and came for a site visit to the reception venue. All of this was extremely helpful. On the day of, we arrived at a beautiful reception, and there was Diana, offering to get us drinks (I have to say, we loved that part!) Things went very smoothly and many of my family members commented on how pleasant and helpful Diana was. That really means a lot to us! We felt good with her from the beginning, so I was happy to trust that she would have everything set up and ready to go. We were not disappointed. By the way, we were on a pretty tight budget for our wedding, but like I said, this was well worth the expense. I had met with Sarah and Allison months before our initial wedding date. Allison was our direct contact during the whole process and was our day of coordinator. Unless you are a professional wedding planner you likely have no clue what the day of your wedding would look like in terms of how much time everything would take and the best order for everything. Allison also provided great recommendations, in which I ended up using one their recommended hair and makeup artist. When our wedding venue had to be switched, they immediately emailed me with other recommendations that fit our taste, and we landed on Warehouse XI. Allison was so helpful through email and made sure I stayed on schedule with finalizing all the planning and details. On the day of the wedding we didn't have to worry about anything because we trusted Allison. She did an amazing job and made sure everything ran smoothly as well as help set up our signage and gift table. At the end of the night she made sure that any values we had were gathered and handled. So after finding out that there is a such thing as a day-of coordinator, I knew that I had to find the perfect coordinator fit for me. So, I found Without A Hitch! Sarah Basch set me up with Diana Scott and it was great! My wedding was June 10, 2017. I had many different things that I wanted in my wedding and reception and she kept right up with it all. There were at least 2 stressful times when I looked at her and said, "what am I going to do?" and she sweetly held my hand, looked me in the eyes and very calmly told me, "I already took care of it." I can't begin to tell you how that felt especially when you see that she really did handle it! She even checked on me often throughout the evening to make sure we had everything we needed. I can say without question that my wedding would not have been as perfect if we hadn't employed the services of Without A Hitch Boston, and more specifically our coordinator Alisha. My husband and I decided to have our wedding at my parents' house in Massachusetts. Because it was a backyard wedding we were doing a lot of DIY and additionally planning somewhat long distance from our home in Philadelphia. Hiring Without a Hitch was one of the best decisions I made during my wedding planning. We live in abroad and planned most of the wedding either over a year in advance or from outside the U.S. with an eight hour time difference. Nicole went above and beyond her day-of coordination to offer recommendations for calligraphers, hair and makeup, and a rehearsal dinner location, and she sent period reminders to keep me on track. But she was especially helpful on the day of the wedding. She took care of all of the set up of details like the place cards and guest book, so I could get ready with my bridesmaids without worrying about it. She also adapted when traffic made two of our hair and makeup artists an hour late, and we still had our first look. Her detailed timeline was useful to share with other vendors to keep everyone on the same page. We learned after the wedding that one of our guests wanted to know when we were going to cut the cake, tracked down Nicole's assistant, and saw her timeline--and was widely impressed when we actually cut the cake at 8:45pm according to the timeline. As a final note, Nicole kept a church leaflet after the day and was able to send it to my mom, who had forgotten to take one and was very grateful. We highly recommend her! read more

While we did much of the planning ourselves and our reception venue had an event staff, Sarah kept us on point, on schedule and gave us things to think about that we wouldn't have otherwise. When the grooms mom forgot something in her hotel room, Sarah was there. In fact one guest commented, "is she a triplet??? Because every time I turn around she is there!" With 3 hours between the mass and the reception she helped guests with details or bar/activity recommendations making them feel comfortable in Boston! Finally, we decided in planning our wedding we only wanted people around us on the day of that we would have as our friends so they fit right into the flow of the day. Sarah founded the company and was so helpful answering our questions as we were trying to figure out exactly what we needed in a coordinator. Colleen was our events associate and was AMAZING. We selected a venue where we could DIY most of the services, which meant it did not have a coordinator onsite, and I have no idea how we would have gotten through the wedding without Colleen. After meeting her in person to go through what we had and had not already planned for the wedding, she sent us a comprehensive list of suggestions for vendors we were still missing, gave us realistic expectations for when we should lock them in, and followed up with us periodically with a detailed timeline of the wedding weekend filled in every time we made new plans. Especially on our wedding day, it was so reassuring to know that Colleen was there and we were able to focus fully on enjoying time with our guests. Colleen ran the rehearsal, handled problems flawlessly, and was so reassuring to have on the wedding day. Without a Hitch was our MVV - Most Valuable Vendor! Sarah and Diana were incredible and trusted advisers and especially Diana made sure our day went off smoothly. They prepped us for not only the day of, but counseled us for nearly a year along the way and were available to us throughout the wedding planning process, often checking in proactively and also responding to our notes about vendors, timelines and anything else with calm, sage advice. When we arrived at the venue on the day of the wedding after spending several hours with our families and bridal parties, it was SUCH a welcome sigh of relief to see Diana - calm, cool and collected - and know that everything would be taken care of. When we walked into the venue, everything was exactly how we'd imagined it. Diana was attentive all night, making sure we had drinks, food, cake, etc. and she gave us cues when we needed to do cake cutting, last song, etc. She was such a calming and level-headed presence throughout the wedding planning process and we appreciate her guidance and counsel so much!
