That's when I knew we were going to be an unstoppable team! One of the best decisions I made during the whole wedding process was hiring a wedding planner. I knew I had to have some help given my tall order of must haves. From dress appointments, invitations, music lists, venue appoitments - you name it and she was there. Helping me, guiding me and most importantly making sure that I was on budget, on schedule and excited about the entire process. She knew exactly what my vision was even when I'm sure I wasn't explaining it very well, haha. She had amazing design recommendations, helped contact vendors, and was great on offering ideas to save money! I wanted my wedding to be unique and she was great in achieving that. She made my life SO easy and I couldn't imaging doing all of that work by myself! People approached me the week before and day of the wedding and said that I didn't look stressed at all...I wasn't! I knew everything would turn out perfect and stress free because I had Erica. I enjoyed every second of our day:) I have attended weddings since then that did not have a wedding coordinator and I just thought to my self, "I am so thankful that I had Erica!" On the three occasions that I've been to an event produced by Two Birds Events, I was VERY impressed by two key things: 1) Their principal planner, Erica, has VERY good taste in all things. What first come to mind are her spot-on good taste in cocktails, unique and tasty appetizers, and themed elements/themed pairings of drinks and food. The event's theme or themes are visible in the choices of food, drink and decorations, and the event becomes more memorable as a result. 2) Every detail is well thought-out, from the event schedule to the placement of food and drink and seating. I've never once had the feeling at an engagement planned by Two Birds Events that the room was too stuffy or too empty. There is always the appropriate amount of people, food, beverages, music volume, lighting, et cetera. It's rare to leave an event without a single complaint, but I've left their events feeling that they were flawless every single time. Two Birds Events is a planning firm that I would trust to plan an event from start to finish, and I wouldn't have to worry about one single detail. I wouldn't feel the need to micromanage because everything is thought about and planned for beforehand. Two Birds, One (Fabulous) Wedding: Wedding planners each have their own style. Such is that typically one must pick and choose among the best event planners based on their own individual panache. But what if they are not available on your date? What if they don't end up following their own rather than your ideas? What if they end up having no taste at all!? When I needed to know if the white hydrangeas I had my heart set on would hold up in the late August heat, she offered resourcefulness. When I was to decipher a way to organize our Big Day without having phone reception, having our locale set deep in the Mt. Baker countryside, she offered solutions. When I couldn't be at the wedding site when hay bales, the Airstream Trailer, tables, chairs, linens, and catering staff were to be arriving, she brought suggestions and solutions. So when you consider the Two Birds team can do for you on your wedding day, picture Erica on ours: The night before, while the bride got her much needed beauty sleep, she stayed up scooping Watermelon balls for the last-minute cocktail idea that the Bridesmaids had. While we posed for pictures, she climbed ladders in near-100 degree weather to string white lights on the dance floor. When we an announcer was needed, she grabbed the mic. And when the music needed a little boost, she grabbed her Aviators, stood up on the picnic table by the river (aka DJ Booth) and played her very own melodious remixes that filled the dance floor once again. This review is regarding our wedding at the end of April this year. We chose Erica to be our day of coordinator based on her package pricing and the fact that we really liked her personality and enthusiasm. We were looking for someone to handle all the setup/tear-down and details on our wedding day so we and our family and friends could enjoy the day without having to do any work. While we had a fantastic wedding day and we appreciate a lot of the things Erica and her sister (who assisted the day of) did for us, Two Birds fell short of our expectations at the end of the night which added quite a bit of stress as we were leaving the next day for our honeymoon. We are pretty laid back people and did not have one lick of bride- or groom-zillaness until after the wedding. After we've had some time to reflect, here are the pros and cons of our experience: Pros - Erica is very passionate about her job and has great ideas for all aspects of a wedding. While we were comfortable planning most of our big day, she had some great input for design ideas and answered our numerous questions about typical wedding itineraries and other things we weren't sure about - Her wedding survival document was extremely helpful in laying out every detail of the day from the moment we woke up to the end of the event. She met with us several times in person to brainstorm, plan, and answer any questions we had - She introduced us to some great and affordable vendors, a couple of which we ended up using - She lent us a typewriter for guests to leave notes and helped us keep our floral cost down by picking up flowers from the Pike Place Market and making some arrangements for us. She also picked up from us a bunch of decorations the night prior and brought them to the venue the day of - Erica and her sister set up the venue beautifully to our expectations, improvising when we couldn't find the cake decorations (our fault as we misplaced them) - She offered her husband's services driving us around in their SUV for our pre-wedding photos - She made sure everyone in our wedding party was lined up and got us down the aisle successfully Cons - It takes quite a while for Erica to respond to emails. While we felt on top of things, this might make other people nervous. - With about 45 minutes to spare Erica called while I was getting dressed and said her husband had been in an accident the night before and that we should get an Uber to drive us around to our photo locations. We were relieved he was ok, but wondered why we weren't told earlier. We were able to find a hired SUV and to their credit Two Birds later reimbursed us for the SUV, but this added a stressful element - The kicker: At the end of the night Erica and her sister disappeared before the event had fully wrapped up (to be fair my hubby and I had had plenty to drink, so maybe they said goodbye but neither of us remembered seeing them leave). The plan was originally for them to follow us home to drop off all the decorations and our gifts, but that changed at some point. Somehow we ended up with two of their duffel bags, but left at the venue which was closed the next day were my bouquet which I never saw again, wedding cake (BUMMER), leftovers, an extra box of party favors for guests, some vases, and other miscellany. Two Birds also took home the envelopes of tips for the vendors which was very embarrassing. We called Erica and she apologized saying she'd hand them out the next day, however she was also flying out of town the next morning, so we asked for the tips back and delivered or mailed them ourselves. The next morning she was going to drop everything off at 10, then 11, then asked how late her husband could stop by as she had to catch a flight. In the meantime we were packing to leave the country and wanted our dang gifts (which worried us, based on a previous review where items may have gone missing). We were pretty livid at this point, and her husband delivered everything at noon. After we returned a week later from our trip, Erica assured us she'd pick up the remaining items from the venue. Days go by...finally she emails us to say she was ill and could not get them for us. While I wouldn't wish illness on anyone, at this point there have been multiple excuses and we could have been contacted by her sister or husband. We were very fortunate the venue manager is an awesome guy who held on to our belongings for two weeks beyond the end of the event, so we picked them up. In sum we are grateful that we had such an awesome wedding celebration with our loved ones and we reached our goal of getting hitched but the wrap-up left us pretty grumpy, feeling like when a friend has let you down. While this review skews negative due to our experience, we truly do wish Two Birds success as Erica is a very friendly person who is passionate for what she does, but may just have some kinks to work out. read more

I summoned the two birds for an Orcas Island Wedding for 150 (high degree of difficulty!) and they helped make an incredible and unique wedding on a modest budget. Where do I even start?! I guess from the beginning. I'm a project manager by trade, and really didn't think I needed a wedding planner. Then I realized that this is my wedding day, not a work event, and I should hire someone to be "me". I am the definition of Type A, and my fiancé was skeptical I could find anyone to whom I would feel comfortable handing over the reigns. From the second I met Erica I knew that she would treat our wedding as if it were her own. First, I thought it was cool she suggested we meet in person even though I hadn't yet committed. We were able to get to know each other and come up with a tailored coordination plan. She even answered some questions I had that most planners probably wouldn't have answered until I signed a contract. She was totally organized, efficient, and FUN. I immediately felt comfortable telling her what I wanted (and what I didn't). And her Survival Guide? GET OUT. So incredibly thorough! Once my fiancé saw it he admitted that I had met my match in the planning department. It includes all the info you and your vendors could possibly ever need, and everyone who had a role in our wedding said it was a lifesaver. She did NOT let me down! As I had ideas and questions over the next six months, Erica was a huge help. She was responsive and completely ON IT. We had a set number of meetings in the contract, but we blew through those. She didn't let it phase her, and even suggested we meet again just to make sure everything was all squared away. When there were issues with vendors, Erica took care of it. When we needed to book our own bar service? Yep, they do that. Rent quality linens for cheap? Totally. Set up and tear down everything perfectly without me even noticing? Uh-huh. I could not have been in better hands. Once the wedding weekend came around everything went off without a hitch. We had our post-rehearsal dinner get together at Bell + Whete (where Erica also manages events), and I didn't even think to ask her about the details. Sure enough, she not only set up the space perfectly but also went to the market and got us fresh flowers to add that extra something special. The day of the wedding, everything was taken care of exactly as planned. Erica and her team worked SO FREAKING HARD and made it all look effortless. I'm still getting comments about how incredibly well the Two Birds team handled everything. I had literally no stress and nothing to do other than get pampered and marry my best friend. My wife and I hired Two Birds to wrap up the very last of our wedding planning and to organize everything on the big day. We couldn't be happier with how everything went. They put out fires, organized all the deliveries, recommended a great florist, set up all of our decorations and made sure the day went off without a hitch. We contracted with Two Birds Events for day-of coordination of our daughter's September 13, 2014 wedding. A few months before the wedding, it became apparent that it was going to be impossible for us to do everything by ourselves on the day of the wedding. We would have just a couple of hours to decorate the church and reception venue, and all this needed to happen at the same time that we were supposed to be getting ready for the wedding and taking pre-wedding photos. After going into panic mode, a co-worker recommended Two Birds. I left a message for Erica, who called me back the same day with the news that she and her team would be available to assist us that day. Erica assured us that they could get everything done in time. We met with Erica and her sister, April, the following Saturday. They were friendly, energetic, and well prepared. Erica met with us several times after that to ensure that all the tasks on the checklist were being completed to our satisfaction. She suggested a florist, who did a wonderful job at a reasonable price. Before hiring Erica and her team, I had attempted to persuade several bakers to use our favorite family recipe for the wedding cake, but with no luck. When I explained this to Erica, she said that she knew a baker who would probably be willing to test the recipe. Not only did the baker, Hannah, do a great job on the cake, but the price was unbelievable. (I had anticipated paying so much more!) Then, Erica shopped for cake pedestals at an antique store and painted them to match our wedding colors. The cake display was amazing! The church and reception venue were beautifully decorated and Erica's team handled all the details expertly! The team members who assisted at the reception were wonderful to work with and we couldn't have been more pleased with how everything turned out. We are so happy we had Erica and her team on hand at our wedding. We initially met with Erica about 9 months prior to our wedding, and she was able to offer a customized package, ranging from day-of coordination to full service planning. We opted for day-of coordination with some extra planning sessions along the way, as we wanted to take on the majority of the planning ourselves. I have no doubt, however, that Erica would have planned a gorgeous, memorable event for us. During the planning process, Erica went above and beyond in offering advice on all of the details related to vendors, the schedule, and anything else we questioned. We met several times before the wedding to ensure we were on track, and my husband and I walked away from each appointment feeling stress-free. As the wedding date approached, Erica laid out a minute by minute time line for the day, as well as about 15 extra pages of helpful details for the vendors and bridal party. We knew everything was under control and had been thoroughly communicated to everyone involved in the wedding. I cannot stress how hugely helpful Erica's survival guide was in making us feel prepared and ready to rock on our wedding day. Erica was also ready and willing to step in for troubleshooting in the last few days before the wedding. When we were told about 2 days before the wedding that we could no longer take photos where we had planned, Erica stepped in with multiple options nearby. We are still waiting to see our professional photos, but I think they will turn out even better than our original idea. Erica also took care of a few last minute vendor issues, and confirmed that each vendor would be providing what we contracted, when we asked them to do so. The day of the wedding, Erica and her team were prepared for anything - stains, the inevitable broken bustle, having our favorite cocktails ready and waiting for us when we signed our marriage license, and so much more. I recently enlisted Erica's help to host a surprise birthday party. I initially had some trouble getting her on the phone, I think her schedule was quite hectic at the time, but I ended up mostly communicating via email and that went smoothly enough. There were a few things that I would consider rookie mistakes. She didn't ask me until about two days before the event what the name of the birthday girl was. And she brought a nice camera to document the event but didn't mention that she was going to do so, so I (not wanting to pay for a photographer) was scrambling to get a digital camera (mine recently broke). I offered the sheet music for a song several weeks ahead of time, but she didn't take me up on the offer until a few days before hand (though perhaps the pianist wouldn't have bothered practicing before then) That being said, the event itself went off without a hitch. During the event she was friendly and available, and not obtrusive. She was behind the scenes making everything run smoothly such that I really didn't need to speak with her at all during the event, which I consider a success. She recommended the venue, and the menu, and they were great choices. Probably my only significant complaint would be the budget. I mentioned an amount I was hoping to spend, and a higher amount I was willing to spend. The grand total ended up about 10% over that higher limit. I'm sure I'm partially to blame. I could have vetoed all or part of the party before it was too late. Still, I asked from the beginning if my plans would fit in the budget and she said yes. If she'd told me at the beginning I probably would have made some changes. Overall I think she did a good job, but it could have been a bit better. read more

I wanted to have a team that would anticipate the smallest things, and have a sense of my style so that they could execute much of it without needing me to be involved. Well these ladies went above and beyond from the beginning! They took care of everything and made sure we were executing tasks on time. We sat down an filled out portions of the guide together and my husband and I filled out the rest together. On the day of the event each vendor had a copy and we were able to send it over to our family and bridal party the week before in order to keep everyone in the loop and on the same page. Erica Hoffmann and the Two Birds team were instrumental in making my wedding a flawless, well executed, picture-perfect event. To say I was an easy client is an understatement. I am a "hands on, type A, extremely involved client. I had very high expectations for my day of and with Erica's help it was truly the event I had dreamt of as a little girl. I met with Erica and her team at least 7 times prior to my wedding, and she was constantly available to me whether it was phone, email, or text at all times of the day. She had great recommendations for vendors to use and had connections with all of them. Erica's team consists of her sister, April, and her husband, Nathan. Having a man as part of the event team really put my husband at ease. He was able to ask Nate questions and use him as a resource throughout the entire process (such as where to get groomsmen gifts and what to say in his opening welcome speech, as well as have Nate present during the "pre" wedding time for any questions). At the event neared, she took control of the event: coordinating the timeline with vendors (her survival guide was truly over the top with EVERY detail that would make any type A client swoon) and ensuring I was aware of any changes to the day of. By the time the week of the wedding arrived, I felt confident the day would go perfectly. From a wardrobe malfunction to a table placard getting lost: these were issues that I never knew about until after the wedding. Any other problems that arose were taken care of Erica & team and unbeknownst to me or my wedding guests, which is how it should be at any event. Erica excelled at communication, execution and met all of my HIGH expectations. Your event planner shopping stops right here. Two Birds was incredible. We hired them to help put together our company summer picnic and they completely blew my mind. Erica had the best ideas and was able to execute everything perfectly with our venue and with all the vendors. They ran into an issue with an Amazon order they placed for some of our materials and it wasn't delivered in time. But did this stop them? No. They were up at 4 am the day of the event going to any and every store possible buying everything we needed from the amazon order. I would not have even noticed that had happened unless she told me. She was on guard the entire event and basically made it the best party I had ever been a part of. I had multiple people come to me and say it was the best company party they had ever been to. They made it enjoyable for kids and even for dogs. I needed someone onsite day-of and to be very hands on, and she did exactly that. It seemed like Erica and her team thought of everything! They were very attentive to my needs and goals for the VIP event, as well as being great hosts to our VIP guests. They were able to do everything from decorating the area to coordinating vendors, checking in guests, coordinating raffles, etc. I received great reviews from guests who attended about the Two Birds team. Two Birds Events planned my husband's surprise 60th birthday party. The venue was perfect, food was delicious and the guests had a wonderful time. My husband was so surprised and happy. I did not have to worry about any of the details. Erica and April took care of everything. I would definitely use them again. They thought of details that I would not have thought of. I am a caterer with banquet space in my restaurant. I do many weddings every year and have seen them all when it comes to wedding planners. I have to say that Erica, owner of Two Birds, is by far the most organized and hands on wedding planner I have ever worked with. Nothing was left to the wedding party as Erica did EVERYTHING from picking up the wedding dress, tying bows on chair, setting tables, serving food, anything that came up or needed to be done she had it handled.
