Awesome blossom Cajun place to hit up Not a huge place, about 10 tables that mostly seat up to 4 and a couple tables outside...so you'd think this was a fast food joint or something, but when you walk in they servers at the counter greet you with a smile and the chalkboard menu is actually a collage of inspirational quotes, which I thought was pretty cool. You can call your order for pickup too, which quite a few ppl did. Ordered the bayou classic and the soup of the day, which was seafood...guess I was in a seafood mood...just meant more food for me hehehe. The bowl of soup was pretty full...right to the brim, and piping hot. Had to wait a minute or 3 for it to cool down...but that first bite...sent warm fuzzies straight down my gullet into that belly o mine. Really hearty and good, and almost filled me up before I got my entree! The entree was very good; rice topped with shrimp crab cakes spinach and Cajun dressing....topped with Cajun seasoned white bread. I had to pack up some of it Cuz it was just too much for me. But it was a very good meal; 5 layer Cajun dish and soup for $18 plus tax and tip ain't too shabby...not shabby at all. Strip mall parking, so shouldn't be an issue...not too familiar with the area for lunch not sure if it gets crazy crowded or not. I came in around 630 and the place wasn't too packed, but after I ordered a few more parties came in so I guess this is a dinner spot. Staff - very friendly and nice. We were on the outdoor patio for the eclipse and it was a fabulous place to be and eat. Funky atmosphere, delicious food! We ordered the Truffled Mushrooms, Bayou Classic and the Cajun Cubano. All were so good. The sauces on all three were just the right amount of spicy and full of flavor. We were just passing through, but we'll definitely stop again if we're ever driving by Montgomery. read more

Awesome customer service. Collard green soup is delicious and like everyone else has said, bayou classic is a must-order. Also try their sweet iced tea. Feels like family when you're there. This place was a great lunch stop driving from Atlanta to New Orleans. read more

Slowest service ever! I think there is only one server to the entire restaurant. We were there @ about 6 on a Friday and were the only customers. That should have been our sign to leave! My Dad got shrimp and they had no cocktail or tartar sauce. And they didn't tell him that until he had the food. He could have ordered something else. They were out of banana pudding. They bring the plates of food out one at a time and it takes at least 10 minutes in between each persons food. There was a dirty table beside us that wasn't bused. The decorations are corny & covered in layers of dust. The chicken salad tastes like cat food. I couldn't recommend this place less. I'm so annoyed to have wasted $70 here. It was much better before they moved to this location. I cannot imagine that they'll be in business much longer. read more

The food is delicious and the waiter was very friendly. However, it takes an extended period of time to get your food once ordered. We also ordered grilled shrimp and banana pudding to go and it took an additional 30 minutes to get that. read more

Pros: the shrimp on my dish were delicious and service was quick. Saw the great reviews on Yelp. I'm from Baton Rouge so it seemed like a great place to dine. Once we open the door the live music was unbearably loud. We were seated then decided to get our food to go. My wife ordered the crab cakes which are considered a side. $8 bucks. We should have looked before we left. There were two, the size of silver dollar meatballs and they were salty. The ketchup container was bigger. I ordered the Bayou Classic. The rice was undercooked, same small salty crab cakes, sausage looked like hotdogs but the 3 shrimp on the dish were delicious. Also my wife fries were undercooked. I can not recommend this place. Even the two ladies who sat across from us complained about the loud music. read more

Wow! Not sure what those marking this place less than five stars were talking about. Started with samples of their sweet tea and "Purple Hull" soup. The soup was great! I thought the sweet tea was pineapple juice until the server said it was sweet tea with a secret ingredient, "pineapple." The rest of the food was fantastic. We tried the Cajun Truffles, Bayou Classic and the Louis Armstrong. The place looks like a deli when you walk in. Not the type of place you would expect "upscale" food. I am visiting Montgomery for an appointment and my husband and I decided to give this place a try. It had good reviews (i don't know how) and the photos of the food looked good. We sit down and I ask for a high chair for my 16m old and it looked a bit dirty so I grabbed my purell wipes I keep in the bag and cleaned it, and oh my god it was filthy (picture shown) . My 5yr old wanted to potty so we went and the bathroom stunk , and it looked like it was never cleaned . We order finally , I got my 2 girls each a kid's noodle and I ordered the steak & fries which is a ribeye . While we're waiting for our food , the restaurant is EXTREMELY loud ... no music just very very very loud chatter and talking from the bar area. The power goes out we're all sitting in the darkness for about 10-15 minutes. While the power was out they brought out my girl's noodles ! It looked good BUT tasted awful. My oldest said it tasted funny , so I tasted it myself and it was super super salty . I told her not to eat it . My husband gets his plate which was Louis Armstrong or something idk it had shrimp. He said his food is okay! I waited about 30 minutes or so till my plate came out. Which looked like a cheap cut of ribeye from the Walmart next door for $5 on clearance and I was a given a plastic fork to eat a steak.... A PLASTIC FORK!!!! I could barely cut , it tasted okay but for the price ($22) this wasn't it fam. I can cook a better steak on my kamado joe at home . I told our server the pasta was extremely salty and she took it out of our check. The whole experience was awful, and I'm wondering how this place has 4.5 stars . read more

The food may have been good in the past but it is made with cheap ingredients and over powdered with heavy doses of salt to hide the fake imitation crab in the crab cake. The cooks in the back claimed they didn't put fake crab in the crab cake but Im not stupid and the tried to shred it up with real crab. This was found on two separate plates at the table. Was very disappointed but I will say the servers were good but the kitchen has resorted to cheap ingredients to make more money on their food. Sad thing to do with a Southern Staple. Will not return and I will look else where. read more

The yelp map took me to the wrong spot even though yelp lists the correct address of 6667 Atlanta Hwy, Montgomery, AL 36117. Luckily I called and was informed that they are still in business and instructed on me how to get there. It had a Nice atmosphere where I was kindly greeted as soon as I stepped in the door. I ordered the Bayou Classic which I was highly pleased with. I started off by tasting each component separately and thought to myself this is not going to be anything more than ok. Disappointing from start to finish. Decided to try this place because of the great reviews. We arrived at 8 pm - an hour before closing - and the place was empty. The employees acted like we were bothering them with our presence and all stood around when the cashier yelled out our order: bayou classic, Louis Armstrong, and a house salad. 10 minutes later, our meals were packed up and I drove back to our hotel down the road. When I opened the boxes, the food looked decent. But the crab cakes were cold, the rice was hard and clumped together, and the portion size was underwhelming. This is a great spot for some very tasteful comfort cajun vittles. The menu makes it difficult to choose because there are so many great options. I ordered the bayou classic, another friend ordered the crawfish julie and our third got the Louis Armstrong. All three dishes were served hot and were incredibly delicious. Ok... not sure about the 4 1/2 star rating. I was really excited to eat after reading the reviews. I've always been told to start with the good stuff. So, to start, the service was good - no issues there and the drink was delicious. But, from there the train falls of the track. The food and the cleanliness of the table were two area that really drag this rating down. The table was sticky. Not sure if it was because they used a cleaner on the table that stripped the varnish and now it has a sticky residue or if it was just plain nasty. Whatever the case, we had to place napkins down on the tables just to eat. In reference to the food, my family and I had the chicken pasta bowls and the Bayou Classic. Both dishes were Luke warm. The crab cake on the dish was burned on the bottom side. The pasta was over cooked and a little mushy. With all that, there was some goodness. The pineapple tea was the best! read more

Ordered a shrimp po boy with home fries. They totally missed. The po boy was on a whole wheat bun, almost no lettuce and no tomato. Shrimp were ok by themselves. Fried were not "home fries," but French fries. They were burnt on the ends and scorched tasting. It was like a public school lunch for $10 bucks. The Wishbone Cafe has been the locals favorite for Fried Chicken and great lunch's for over 50 years. They have reasonably priced meals and fast service. The wait staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. The food is well prepared, hot and of sufficient quantity to satisfy anyone. They accept credit cards and provide a military discount. If Cafes could be rated like fine restaurants the "BONE" as we call it would be a "Five Stars" for families, working people and visitors. They have a Drive-Thru where you can order ahead of time and pickup when it is crowded at peak times or you don't want to eat in.
