    Fried green tomatoes

This was my first time here. I have always wanted to try it out and it didn't disappoint. We had the lunch special. Grilled shrimp with smashed potatoes and hush puppies. A really good lunch. They offer a Military discount on Mondays. The fried green tomatoes is amazingly good. I could just have had the appetizer and been happy. The cashier/waiter did a really good job and was very friendly. People like that can make a good restaurant great. It's a smaller place but a good setup. We will be back for sure!

The food was gold ole southern cooking. Mmmmmn. I had the red beans and rice with shrimp. It seasoned perfectly. Not too hot but yet a zing. The gumbo sampler was just enough to try and enjoy it. Yummy! You order at the counter and then the waitress delivers it to you and then service your table. Very attentive! The ambiance is seaside what's, how appropriate. The seafood was delicious. I would definitely visit again

Was visiting Montgomery for work and wanted to try some difference than the usual downtown spots for dinner. I ordered online and picked up my order so I can't attest to the service but the lady working the desk seemed really nice and gave me my order promptly as I arrived. I ordered the combo and got mahi mahi and the wharf cakes with a side of red beans and white rice. I got the mahi mahi blackened and the wharf cakes fried. The mahi was pretty good. Paired nicely with the rice and the wharf sauce. Definitely get the wharf sauce--literally made my meal. Next time I'd probably request my mahi mahi lightly blackened since it was a bit too salty for my liking but the wharf sauce definitely helped tame it by adding some sweetness to it. The wharf cakes weren't my favorite :( idk I can't describe why I didn't like them but they just weren't that great. But like I said, the wharf sauce was my saving grace so when dipped in it they were pretty good. Red beans and rice was the usual, can't mess that up. To be honest, I do see myself coming here again tho. I think next time I'll try some more of their fried options and their sweet potatoes. Otherwise great soul food and southern restaurant! I was obsessed with the hush puppies

Good quality food in a bright, sunny restaurant. Service was quick and everything tasted super fresh.

First time at this location. Very casual and nice. The employees are very smiling and friendly. I ordered a blackness flounder and it is delicious and very seasoned. I also ordered some sweet fried potatoes, really crunchy. My husband ordered the fried shrimp, they were also delicious and not greasy.

It's hard to express how disappointed I was with my meal here tonight. The whole platter was 50/50. Either the item was great or complete ass. The good: Catfish, hushpuppies, Grouper, collard greens. The bad: Green beans, the crab cake thingy, shrimp. Middle of the road: cheese grits and salad. I ordered the crispy platter, and it was apparent they cooked everything in the same oil for the same amount of time. Crab cake was crispy outside and play doh on the inside. Shrimp was WAY over cooked, very rubbery. The green beans were the absolute worst I've ever had. They tasted like un-seasoned tubes of rubber. They even squeaked when you tried to chew them. I would have told this to management if anyone ever came to ask how the food was, but that didn't happen. Now, the stuffed grouper was really good. They should keep it on the menu. Hushpuppies were perfect. Tarter sauce was good. Cheese grits tasted pretty good. Collard greens were made with love. I wish I got those too like my wife did. This is a newer spot going through growing pains, but damn, they need to re-assess a few things.

I don't even know where to start....This place is such a surprise of goodness considering it is a local chain. For fast casual, this restaurant was everything. My first time in Alabama and this was the first restaurant I visited. For my order I opted for Gouda Grits, Pink Shrimp in seasoning, Friend Green tomatoes with the toppings and the fresh oysters. My favorite was the shrimp. The Red Alabama Gulf shrimp in the Wharfs special sauce was EVERYTHING...it will make you wanna lick your lips and the bowl...it was a perfect mix of spice, seasoning and love. Next up was the Fried Green tomatoes with extra..the extra included wharf sauce, feta cheese and bacon...who would've ever known these 3 things could make fried green tomatoes taste soo good...it took those tomatoes from an 8 to a 12 on a 10 pt scale. The smoked gouda grits was soo good and creamy and flavorful. The oysters were just ok... The restaurant was fast, the food delicious and the prices reasonable. I will definitely be back if I'm ever back in Alabama.

This place was great! I sure wish I had one of these up near Philly where I live, and I don't even like seafood. That said, they could offer a few more options for non-seafood eaters and vegetarians, but we were all able to find something we could eat. I had the fried honey pecan chicken, a side of gouda grits and an extra side of the cajun corn. All of it was just delicious! One of my daughters, the vegetarian, had the Greek salad (she wasn't fond of the potato salad underneath but I brought it home and ate it later on and thought it was fabulous!) She also had the gouda grits and the corn, both of which she loved. The other four people on our party loved their food as well, and we all enjoyed the fried green tomatoes and the margaritas and other drinks that we had. Overall, it was a great meal in a comfortable casual setting. Would love to go back aometime!

    Greek salad with blackened shrimp

Stopped in for a quick bit on the way out. Service was fast and restrooms were very clean. The Greek salad was surprisingly really good and fresh. I added blackened shrimp to mine. My sister got friend green tomatoes and said they were delicious. Great quality for what seems almost like a fast food seafood establishment.

When I order red beans and rice, I expect rice to be included, and not some old dried beans.

This was my first time trying Wharfs, and I truly was disappointed. The shrimp boat salad was not worth $14... it was the size of a side salad. The New Orleans street corn... DISGUSTING!!! And then the beans... Not red beans & rice, but old dried beans with No rice.

I could eat a bucket of the hush puppies! Catfish was good along with rice and beans. Good beer selections as well.

A new neighbor for me, so I am thrilled to report, affordable for portion size and Dldelicious. There was an error in my order (but staff is new) so double check before leaving clerk. I ordered 2 pieces of chicken ala cart (breast & thigh) but good 2 piece dark meal. Chicken was hot and tasty. NOT heavily breaded. I would guess less than 25% of amount of breading you get on a KFC piece. This is great for me....watching carbs. Not heavily seasoned. French fries were some of the best I have ever eaten. I am not Southern, so I will leave biscuit reviews to Southerners. . The tilapia sandwich was very good. Mine was without tarter or any condiments, so if you want tarter; order it. Fish is barely breaded, which was A+ with me. Very lightly seasoned. A great new neighbor! Full menu available via drive thru. Fried chicken by the piece, as well as gizzards, livers, wide selection of veg sides gumbo, chowder and Southern desserts available. This is a great drive thru/menu for senior elderly drive thru customers. Within 2 min of interstate, Fairview exit. Please help support this new business and revitalization of West Fairview.
