The estimate he provided offered multiple options that gave me the flexibility to decide where I wanted to save on costs. The crews that came in for various pieces of the job were all courteous, competent, and cleaned up at the end of the day. I am very pleased with how the bathrooms turned out. On our remodel, these guys actually did some really nice work. Buuuut, they didn't hang the crown molding in our bathroom, as we had requested. Left us a bunch of construction waste. (that you can't put in a regular can) They did a crappy painting job, and none of the bosses did quality control on it. Looks like Stevie Wonder painted it. They had some internal disputes, and one hand didn't know what the other hand was doing. So we were left with a bunch of crown molding to store. And now we have to fix the shitty painting job. They told us that they would replace all of the plumbing, under the house, (for bathroom) but did not. The bathroom, and bedroom, did turn out really nice, however their lack of quality control on other things, left much to be desired. No one ever came back to see if we were pleased with the finished product.‍ read more

We had our shower remodeled by Wiseman Construction in August/September of 2017. They did a fabulous job and they were a pleasure to do business with. Update, in November 2021, we had one wall tile go bad in our shower. We called Brian at Wiseman's and he honored the guarentee. I can't say enough great things about these guys! I would recommend them in a heart beat to anyone I know. I had my master bathroom floors done with luxury vinyl and also the shower ripped out and completely redone. We met Ryan at the Sacramento Home and Garden Show and took bids from him and 3 other construction companies. We contracted with Wiseman Home Improvement. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Ryan, the quality of the work done, and the finished product. This was a large scope project removing an exterior floor-to-ceiling large bay window in the shower, raising a sunken Grecian tub in the shower raising it to standard floor level, and completely removing walls to convert a walk in closet and vanity area into more of a New York penthouse style bath and dressing area. We recently used Ryan Wiseman and his team to remodel our very outdated 1980s kitchen. From start to finish they were prompt, courteous, professional and easy to work with. The custom cabinets turned out gorgeous, and their attention to detail was much appreciated. They worked with my ideas and incorporated everything I wanted into the plan. We added on a remodel of the fireplace at the last minute and they pulled that off and a custom firebox we wanted built without a hitch. They cleaned up each day and worked hard to minimize the disruption to our family routine whenever possible. They were also extremely patient when I changed my mind a few times . There were no "surprise" change orders adding to our cost-and their bid was lower or at least in the ballpark with the other contractors we interviewed. This is quite literally the crappiest company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I bought the LivingSocial Deal..who knows how long ago. Let's just put it this way: it expired on 11/21/13. I paid $39 for $500 worth of "Home Improvement Services" from this company. I had a feeling that it was too good to be true, and I wish I had listened to my instincts. I called to schedule someone to come do interior painting on my home, which was recently remodeled and doesn't really need anything but a re-do of a sloppy paint job. I was told that interior painting is not covered under the LivingSocial deal, and I mentioned that was odd because there was no fine print whatsoever regarding what was covered and what was not. They said that they were aware of this, and that I needed to contact LS to get a refund. So I called LS who said they would be glad to do an investigation and that they'd call back in a few days. They did just that, but then I was told that I'd need to get a refund directly from Wiseman's because, by then, the deal had expired. So I called Wiseman's, left a message with their secretary/answering service, and waited to hear back. I didn't. I went through this routine 3 times, deciding the 3rd time not to mention the LS deal in the hopes that they might think I'm just a regular old customer and actually call me back. They did. I explained what happened and was told by the person on the phone that he would have to check directly with Mr. Wiseman to see if they could get me a refund. I waited for a call back. I never got one. I called again--2-3 more times--before I heard back from anybody. I explained the situation again. They promised to check with the owner and have Wiseman himself give me a call. I never got a call. This went on--I kid you not--over the course of a YEAR. I now wish that I had kept a log of all the calls and messages and back-and-forth but I could have never foreseen things getting this ridiculous. What I can tell you for sure is that I had spoken with someone named Phil and with someone named Ryan P. over the course of this madness, but neither of them came through. Anyway, I ended up getting an email address and did some more back-and-forth with Ryan P. who told me that {supposedly} a check was sent out, but since I never got it, they would cancel it and re-issue a new one. I gave them my address again, to be sure they had the correct one. Funny.. I never got that check either. I emailed Ryan to explain that I will be going to the BBB about this issue and his response was "I understand completely. I did just follow up with Wiseman again to see what's going on. Either way I want you to get your refund and I'll let you know when I hear back. I'm sorry you have to go through all this trouble!" While he was nice about it, I still haven't heard a word; I received that email on 7/19 and today is 8/4. In exasperation, I finally decided to call back LS to see if they could help me in any way. The kind person I spoke to (Shellia) was shocked to hear that I had been going through this for so long and said that I should not have been directed by LS to deal with Wiseman's directly. Even though whomever I spoke with at LS the first time apparently misguided me, I'm still disgusted most of all with the lack of decency that Wiseman's Home Improvement has for its potential customers. The fact that they kept me stressed out (over $39!) for over a year is just beyond me. I know they were hoping that I'd just forget about it and eat the cost, but I'm not one to just let something go. If I could award them zero stars, I most certainly would. They can count on me to make the truth known to everyone I can share this story with, and you can bet that I'm still going to the BBB over this issue. read more

We have a beautiful new bathroom thanks to Wiseman's Home Improvement. Tile had fallen from bathtub surround - water damage. The job was more complicated than just replacing the tile. Phil gave us two reasonable bids, one for just the tub and surround walls, the other for the entire bathroom. There were several existing features in the bathroom that we had lived with but didn't particularly like so we decided on full replacement. Phil did the majority of the work - Ryan and others also were involved. We were kept well-informed of the process/progress of the project. In about a week, the bathroom was finished -- and we are absolutely thrilled with the results. Definitely a positive experience. They are hardworking and do a wonderful job. my wife contacted wiseman's home improvements, and she spoke with ryan. he gave her an estimate for 2 bath remodels, which is just a rough estimate, and we know that. he then scheduled us with a woman named sherry, who came over to look over the bathroom. had a little talk about how great ryan is and how great their small but growing company is with remodels. she then measured one downstairs bathroom, and then, for some reason, forgot her tape measure when we went upstairs, so she measured the two other bathrooms using the squares on the linoleum. fine, the squares more or less a foot, so i decided to just let it slide. and mind you, i offered to go downstairs to get her tape measure. she is engaging, and appears to be decent about the way she talks about bathroom remodels. so on we go, and we told her about what we want. it is mostly my wife who has the input, while i either disagree or agree with that. we want tile...porcelain tile. and we told her we are on a budget, and she said she will work with our budget. she then proceeded to show us cultured marbles, and while it seems to be ok, i already said i don't want it for our bathroom. my wife did not even agree about it being used for our bathrooms but she did agree the color is nice. she said she will work on our bid as fast as she can...even told us she will send us an email about their bid in about 3 days. we liked her at first, like i sid, she seems to be a straight shooter...which actually is the opposite. three days went by......my wife was sending her pictures via email that she said she has not received....one whole week...one and half week...she was also contacting ryan...but nothing...he difficult to contact as well...then a day before the 2nd week, it came. she said she has sent out bids for glass shower doors, that is why it took awhile...we decided to let it go, since we want the bathrooms done. and we hoped that they will have better deal than the others... but behold, they are way as pricey as the other more established, bigger contracting companies we talked to. (yes sherry, we had other bids as well...so we know it does not take 2 weeks for a bid. it is probably a good thing to wait 2 weeks, at least we were able to speak with other contractors and get bids after 2-3 days of seeing our bathrooms.) but the more upsetting thing is, she insisted on using the fake marbles she has shown us despite the fact that i said i do not like it and despite the fact that we said we like tiles. and she included stuff like hardware for our vanity that we asked not to be touched, painting the bathrooms that we said we would not like to do, install new towel racks, med cabinet, fan cover (???) light fxtures, mirror...all of which we never asked for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i guess she will be the one to live in our house so she decided to just go ahead with revamping everything without our input?!?! her reason? tiles are more expensive, and labor intensive...yeah, we agree, but we asked her what if we take that fake marble of yours and put in the tiles we want with the labor in your bid...she then started rambling about are we going to provide the materials? it would take longer time due to waterproofing, putting a pan etc... wiseman improvement, isnt that why who make a bid? to give us an over all price for everything? and sherry gave us a timetable of 2 weeks before she submitted her fake marble bid for each bathroom...so if tile takes longer, does that mean one freaking month to remodel a bathroom? just curious, we decided to go ahead and tell her to change her bid by including tiles...she said she will work on it with all the smileys... that was over a week ago. i guess i have to thank her, at least we dodged a bullet of a remodel. we initially really wanted them due to the positive reviews. the least you can do is to let us know you are not interested so we can move on. what a waste of time. add: we finally got the 2nd bid using porcelain tiles...i am not going to go through all the details... but... $12,755 for a 49 square foot ground floor bathroom?!?!?!?!?! and $14, 535 for a slightly larger upstairs bathroom?!?!?! maybe they put 14k gold inlays on the tiles and probably gold-plated shower hardware with sparkly gemstones! no, thanks! a 40-plus old, big sacramento contracting company complete with powerpoint presentation, a designer and a showroom has also made a bid for both bathrooms...$15,300....I say again, for BOTH bathrooms... read more

Like another reviewer, I also called 5 times on separate days and left messages on the voice mail and with the call center operators. No one ever had the courtesy to call me back either. I called Living Social and explained my situation. Living Social called Wiseman's Home Improvement and also could not reach anyone. I actually feel uncomfortable supporting a business that does not have quality customer service. Living Social refunded the money I paid. Thank goodness. read more

She did keep blaming everything that she couldn't remember because it was Saturday...maybe she forgot our phone number or that she even met with us because "it was Saturday"! Similar to the other reviewers who purchased the Living Social deal ($500 worth of home improvement), I called on different occasions and spoke to a live person different times. Each time my call was answered, I had been told the same thing....that someone will call me back to schedule an appointment. Each time the outcome was the same... no one called back. I do not want to speculate. It is very apparent they are trying to avoid committing to something they had previously promoted, likely until the deal expired to excuse themselves for not being able to honor it. Do not be lured by its offer. Unlike the Living Social offer where Living Social graciously refunds its customer, you may end up stuck with it. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in home upgrades. Not only is the product (I had a new front door put in) of poor quality, but it took multiple times of someone coming to my house and many months to get the product in place. Installed the wrong front door at first, then never completed the framing. I eventually had to finish the product myself because I was tired of dealing with them. Then the owner did not want to honor the signed contract of 0% financing for 12 months and continued to call me over and over again demanding a check and reporting I owe him money. I was also threatened with collections agencies. Meanwhile, a line of credit they, the company, facilitated the opening of when I first decided to get the door, has been sitting available to them the entire time. The owner also had lied to me about the person who came to install the door, reporting a reputable person who he has used multiple times and the installer told me he did not know the first thing about this company, he was contracted out and this is the first time he was doing work for them. Run away. This company is a nightmare, unprofessional and untrustworthy. Do not waste your time or money! read more

I received a call back immediately, unlike the other reviews, and was pleasantly surprised by the level of service, listening skills for what I really want, and the precision of the work completed. My bathroom looks beyond what I had even envisioned, thanks to the manager and the contractor. There must have been something wrong with Living Social coupons; otherwise, there is NO way these guys would not have returned a call. I think what I loved about them is how easy going they are and how attentive they are to the details I wanted included. I highly recommend this team to my family and friends. I can't wait to show off the newly remodeled bathroom to my neighbors. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about them. The work was completed as promised and everything looks GORGEOUS! In my opinion, I will not bother with anyone else for any additional work I may want in the future.
