My review is just for apres gel extension removal. For $15 they did a nice job of removing the gel extensions and buffing my nails back to normal. The woman worked fast & was friendly. I had a really bad experience. I don't usually write bad reviews but the last time I was there I got yelled at from being at the dry station too long. It was busy that day and I know I only had a clear manicure but it was still humiliating. I was at the station 10-15 minutes and I know it's just a clear color manicure but I paid the same amount as everyone else. I'm not going to be pushed out because they're busy. They should get a bigger dry station then. Very very unprofessional and rude. I've never been treated like this anywhere. There's plenty of other nail salons to go to. Unfortunately did not have a good experience here. The manicurist used a normal nail file to work on my cuticles which hurt so much and left them raw and red for a whole 24 hours. She also scraped the edges of my nail beds really hard with it. The paint didn't stay on the tips of my nails for more than 2 days. I also developed a smell and black spots under a few nails which has never happened before. Will not be going back read more

Got my toes done & a gel manicure for a decent price. My main issue isn't with the service or pricing though. My gel polish is so chunky and uneven & parts of my nails are still exposed. My nail shape is super uneven. I still tipped pretty good, but I wish they would've been more attentive. My nail beds are naturally pretty long so it's not that hard to make them look nice as long as you stay within the lines. Might come back for my toes but otherwise nah. :( read more

Came in after trying to test out their competitor down the street. I was greeted immediately and given an accurate waiting time....which was ten minutes. As I waited, I chose my colors. They receptionist was helpful. She asked if I was using gel or regular mani pedicure ( as she should). She also helped me find a non gel color for my toes to match my gel mani. Spot on. While I soaked in the pedicure area. She came over to assist by starting to place the polish removers on my fingers while I soaked. The have cnd essie and opi gel colors. No color change gel though ( yes it exists) They are very clean as everyone has stated. The Tiffany blue wall color is a nice touch. They also give nice massage after the scrubbing, which is done at most places but not always thorough. They actually touch pressure points. I think I will definitely be returning as it's close to my house and I normally trek to the city. I also appreciate that the manicurist pays attention to tbt e corners when painting. Got a manicure here earlier today. The price is slightly higher than cheaper places in Greenpoint or Williamsburg (it's $10 instead of $7), but the quality is so, so much better. My manicurist was very careful and meticulous in filing my nails and trimming the cuticles and went back over them several times. They have an extensive color selection of OPI and Essie that all looked like new bottles. Also, the shop is very clean and hygienic. Newly cleaned tools in plastic were opened for me. I usually don't take the time to write a review, even for bad service, but this was by far the worst experience I've had at a nail Salon. My friend and I came in at 8:15 (they close at 10) and asked for a mani/pedi each. They said they had 1 appt and asked if we wouldn't mind waiting a little bit. We waited 45 mins (they took their appt and then 2 other people that walked in after us w/o an appt). Then when they finally called us they said they only had time for both pedicures and 1 manicure (it was still an hour until they closed). They could tell we were upset but we already waited 45 minutes at this point so we both sat down. She started on me first because I was still planning on getting the manicure as well. The gentleman next to me was getting a pedicure and he started almost 25 minutes before me, my pedicure finished 5 minutes before his for the same type of pedicure. She rushed through the entire thing and it looked terrible. In the meantime my friend was sitting next to me waiting for her pedicure. We watched as 3 people just walked around and pretended to clean when they could have been starting her pedicure and/or giving her a manicure that she had originally requested. Instead she sat in the pedicure chair for almost 15 mins without anyone coming over to her. We asked if they were planning to do one pedicure at a time and the woman working on the guy next to me responded "I'm almost done". My friend waited another 10 minutes before she just got up and dried off her feet (I was already done with my pedicure). At this time another woman entered and asked if they had time for another pedicure (25 mins until close). They told her yes (after they just pretty much ignored my friend and rushed me). Then to top it all off they all looked at us and started laughing because they knew we were upset. Needless to say I didn't stay for a manicure and now have to spend another 2 hours today fixing my pedicure and getting a manicure. Not to mention what a waste of money. Save your time and frustration and go elsewhere. read more

The girl that saw me spent 1 hour doing my pedi. She cut me, paint my toes (besides the nails) and to fix it she would remove the polish from the nails and then start over again. I'm giving it a 3 stars because I had a really good experience with my first pedicure with them, so I went back for manicures 2more times, but they were both kind of terrible. The staff is friendly and the massages can be good or just meh depending on the staff, but the actual manicure (and probably pedicure) technique varies too much from good to bad. It's okay priced, pretty much cash only, or 20 minimum for credit card. I would recommend to go on the weekend, it seems that they have their better staffs on the weekend, or busier hour. I got my nails done Tuesday i paid 75$ and it was just atrocious ! She left my nails with bumps and I didn't want to be mean when I walked out so I just left it alone but it's only Friday and four nails have already fallen off! I asked for coffin and she gave me a long almond shaped nail and they where unevenly shaped one was crooked ! I told her (Erica I believe was her name) and she just told me that it was my nail and not her ! But at a different nail salon they are able to make it straight!. After I got off work and went In I told her that four had fallen off . She said she would fix them I proceeded to tell her about the bumps on the nails I noticed and if she can fix that and reshape it aswell. She told me that I should have said something before I left and although she was right she could have at least tried to fix the nails even if I had to pay I wouldn't have cared I just wanted them fixed cause I spent the money on the nails. Overall the experience wasn't what I had expected from here and I won't be going back ! So just be careful here and speak up if you do go and don't like what you're paying for !!!!! read more

Why doesn't this place get more love? I came for a spa mani pedi and got amazing service for $55. I could not believe how much skin came off of the soles of my feet after the exfoliating cream. The pedicure is worth it -- if you have the extra time to spare.. They are so thorough and the polish is painted on perfect - a rare thing in greenpoint., so it's worth the $25. Manicure however is okay. If your very particular how your nails are filed then caution -- I've always filed mine round/oval & always find that all of these places I never detailed oriented. They were uneven and I wound up filing a few of my nails myself. I was laughing saying you guys probably think I'm crazy but I'm really particular. In the end the polish was perfect and my nails look great. But for a mani/ pedi I think $35 is a little bit expensive - they should at least make a mani/pedi deal for $30 then I wouldn't hesitate to go back. read more

However, by Thursday the gel had already started lifting on 3 nails and, now Saturday, it's almost all of them. I paid $50 plus tip. A gel mani usually lasts me at least 3 weeks. Unfortunately after months of good services, I got mauled from a basic pedicure. I did not get her name and I hate to leave a bad review based off one bad technician but when you leave bleeding from a pedicure it's never a good thing. I quietly (as not to draw attention or get the nail technician in trouble) pointed out my bleeding big toe. I have no idea why Wisdom Nails has anything lower than 5 stars. This is the ONLY place I'll go for a mani/pedi/massage in Brooklyn. Not only is it cheaper than other salons in Williamsburg/Greenpoint, but the service and results are 10000x better. I used to go to a "fancy" salon up the street, but ever since discovering Wisdom, I've never gone back. I'm a regular and know everyone there, and every single employee is GREAT. Long overdue for this review. I came here last year ago when I needed a late night-ish manicure before starting my new job - they're open until 10 during the week. I live in Williamsburg and walk 15 minutes to come here because they truly give the best mani pedis in the area. I've tried many salons in the area and my manicures from Wisdom lasts twice as long. The lady who did my pedi gave me a very good foot/calf massage, but other than that this place is definitely not recommended for pedis. My pedi was poorly done, the cuticles were not taken care of even if I tried to insist and on top of that I have some polish all around the skin of my big toe. The heating stations take forever, and after 45 minutes the polish was still wet. Will not go back again. read more

The foot scrubbers are different AND better AND disposable so no worries about hygiene.... they put parafin on your heels, the included 10 min massage is soooooo amazing AND a shoulder massage while your toes are drying. First time visiting this Salon. I came on and off time when it's not busy. I walked in and asked me what I wanted I was seated and it all began. I received nail tips and a spa pedicure. I actually like acrylic tips which they don't do only powder tips but settled. I asked for coffin shape but since the lady decided she wanted to cut them at her convient size do mak4 iy leds work, she cut them short. I now said no to coffin bc after filing inwould be left with stubs. Moving on ...as soon as I sat down she looked at my nails of course she had to comment on my cuticles stating that I bite my fingers. NOT true I actually do a lot of washing dishes and cleaning and motherly duties which is why my cuticles are so dry but of course she had to comment on it and I had to shut her down. On to the manicure, I asked her not to cut my cuticles of course because she probably would have made them bleed and since I am a former department of health and mental hygiene peace officer I decided to pass the cutting. I had no problems with my nails except that she cut them too short that's probably because she did not want to take more time to dip them in powder and file them the shorter they are the easier it is to complete I will say the nails came out nice no complaints and then on to the pedicure he did a great job with the pedicure she massage my feet you massage my legs because I got the most expensive pedicure and everything was over until I got the bill the Bell was not the problem I paid a total of $70 for the service plus tax I paid with my credit card and I added a 25% gratuity which I think is fairly decent for the services I received I did not get any neck massage just a leg massage which was part of the spa pedicure so the lady decided to charge tax on the full amount including the gratuity to me that was being a slickster so when I asked her why would you charge tax on the tip she said she was sorry so to think she would have said okay I will give you the three $4 in your pocket she just looked at me and I looked at her and I said that that wasn't very nice of what you did however you can keep the three to $4 don't ever do it again you know how I know she'll never do it again because I Won't Go Back but all in alk it was a decent experience I rather spend my money elsewhere and try a knew place. As people have pointed out, there's a lot of competition in GP for nails. I like Wisdom because it's clean, modern, spacious, and they take their time. Sure it's pricier than some (still cheaper than dashing diva) but I find the value in the service (and clean tools!) to be worth the added cost. Plus the messages are nice :) read more

Great mani/pedi. A little pricey. 10$ for mani, 25$ for pedi, and 35$ for shellac! I got the shellac a few times but it didn't even last 2 weeks; it chipped after about a week. They take their time and give you a nice massage while you dry your nails :) Nice people and you can tell they really try hard. read more

I've been coming here regularly for a year and I think in that whole time I've only had one so-so pedicure. Every other manicure and pedicure has been great and held up (probably 50 in total). The ladies are nice, I love their Dalai Lama shrine-they are mostly Tibetan-and the massage at the end is always a nice gesture. They have a loyalty program that get your free pedicures and manicures too. It's the only place i go to anymore. read more

This place is shady. The first time I came in for an SNS manicure, they told me the one person who does it was not there. Today a woman looked at me for awhile and said hesitantly a price that was way higher than what the service generally costs. It was like they didn't want to do SNS or didn't know how to so they gave me an unreasonable quote to get me to leave. Unprofessional! There are other nail salons in the neighborhood to spend money at. Smh. If you walk a few blocks north on Manhattan Avenue, the people at Nassau Nail Spa actually know how to do SNS and it doesn't cost $45. read more

After reading some of the reviews I was pretty hesitant on coming here. I was going to go to H&Q nail spa inc. on the same block. After walking in there I turned around and walked out because it looked very sketchy. So I walked into wisdom nails. After explaining what I wanted, all the girls seemed kind of confused and they kept switching seats to help me. I almost left because I was sure something was going to go wrong or that they not understand what I wanted. Finally one of the older ladies sat down and started. She gave me a gel fill and gel polish for only $50 and she did an amazing job. Even massaged my arms and back for free while my nails dried. They gave me the right shape and also look very real/ thin (still sturdy), not like some nails that have too much acrylic or gel on top so they are very thick (I hate that). This place is awesome. All the tools are in sanitary packets, which I love and is surprisingly difficult to find. They really took their time with me, despite being completely full, with people waiting. You get a nice shoulder rub with your mani or pedi.
