I asked my daughter where she wanted to go for her birthday. I was willing to take her to lobster and she chose Wisconsin burger. We got there. The weather was good. We had a really nice server, but then we noticed other people eating that got there after us Half an hour went by and two ladies had the wrong food we found out that should've been our apologize. About 15 minutes later I got my burger and it wasn't for another half an hour. My daughter got her.Food so we did get a knife and cut mine and shared it and they did offer half off of my daughter's burger that was delivered an hour later. While passing through Spokane, we found this restaurant online and decided to stop for lunch. The hostess was very friendly and our server was fine. The restaurant was clean and has a nice interior. Our food, however, was not great. I ordered two of the 'Merica sliders and my boyfriend ordered the Beloit Blue burger. We also got an order of onion rings. We both ordered our burgers medium and got them very well done. My sliders were cold and the fried pickles on them were extremely greasy. The onion rings were greasy and had way too much breading. It's surprising good. The grease level was so low on all levels. I didn't get my hands greasy at all which is shocking for this day and age. The bun to patty ratio was a bit off with the bun on the bigger side. For how small the AWE GEEZ burger is, IT WAS TALL! I could still fit my small mouth around it but Geez!!! I have been to this restaurant, several times, and it has easily some of the best burgers I've ever had. The food is always delicious. The first several times that I went, the service was excellent as well, and this would have earned a five star review. However, the last two times I have been were fairly disappointing with service. Last time, it took an hour for our food to come out after we ordered. I had my children with me, and it became a really tough experience trying to keep them happy while waiting that long for food. This most recent time, I was at the restaurant for two hours. It took a long time to get the order, and even longer for the food to come out. By the time, if it came out, some of it was cold. Then, out of nowhere, a restaurant comes into view. I go inside and am seated at the bar. The interior is really nice. I look at the menu and make my food selections. I started with cheese curds, damn they were good. Then my double Wisconsin Burger with bacon and a fried egg shows up. The flavor of the meat is amazing! The cheese, the fresh hamburger bun, the grilled onions. All of these flavors overtake my mouth. This is one of the best burgers I've ever had. If that wasn't enough, I ordered a milkshake to go. The lower rating is due to the amount of time we had to wait to get our food. The establishment was not even close to being full so we were unsure why it took so long to receive our food. The 5 ounce, freshly ground beef patty on the Wisconsin Burger came perfectly cooked (slightly pink in the middle). The imported Wisconsin Cheddar beautifully melded with the patty and resulted in a quality offering. But best burger in the NW? Someone from Inlander Magazine needs to eat at Red Wagon Burgers in Tacoma. I believe that would muddy their "Best Burger" water. Don't get me wrong, this place is great. Their burgers, potato salad, vast beer selection, and super friendly service impressed us deeply. But, it is easy to be slightly disappointed when expectations are so high.
