Staff were all very nice and welcoming and spoke English which was very helpful. We sat inside and it was a bit warm (August and in the high 80s F) but it wasn't uncomfortable. This place was so good we went twice - this review is based on the first time we went. Would I go back? YES, and I did. Hahahaha

Augustiner Bräustuben was unfortunately one of the biggest disappointments of our Munich trip. I…read morereally wanted to love this place given its reputation, but the experience fell far short. We ordered the pork knuckle, pretzel with beer cheese, and beer. The pork knuckle arrived cold and lacked flavor, while the pretzel didn't seem particularly fresh either. The beer pour was especially disappointing--the amount of foam/head was ridiculous, and for a place associated with such a famous brewery, I expected a much better pour. The photos really speak for themselves. Service was the biggest issue. We repeatedly tried to get someone's attention to place our order, but the servers seemed to avoid eye contact and kept waiting for someone else to help us. Even getting the check was a struggle--we eventually had to get up and go to a counter ourselves. It felt like the staff had little interest in actually serving the customers. The atmosphere itself has the traditional Bavarian beer hall feel, but unfortunately, the poor food, disappointing beer pour, and especially the terrible service completely overshadowed it. I really wanted to like this place, but based on our experience, there are much better beer halls and beer gardens in Munich.

I stopped by here by myself maybe around 6pm on a Monday and was seated at a table because the bar was full, but told I only had an hour since they were full for reservations. That was totally fine and knew I wouldn't be more than that. If you are coming here with other people, you definitely need to make a reservation. The servers are dressed in traditional German clothes which is a very cool touch. Everyone I spoke to also spoke English. I ordered the schnitzel and whichever beer they recommended with it. I am typically NOT a beer person, but of course I had to try one and whatever this was, was very good. The schnitzel was so crispy and also very delicious. Highly recommend this place!!

The service at Haufbrauhaus was terrible. I ordered a seasonal beer and it was fantastic and the outside seating was wonderful on a perfect day. Our server was awesome and spoke perfect english. I ordered the charcuterie board and it had a couple of hummus scoops and a beef stick and this scoop of stuff that was way too rich for me with pieces of butter in it, but the Germans love it. The pretzels that came with it were great and the cream cheese scoop went perfectly on the pretzel. One of the best meals in Munich, give it a try.

Since the building was built in 1890 and is under monument protection, the new construction of the brewery was a real challenge. The brewhouse and each tank had to be built and developed in such a way that they not only brew the best beer, but could also be brought into the building and fit into the available space. They have their own beer as well as offer Hacker Pschorr beer here. It's a gorgeous old building that used to be a train station and the interior is spacious and warm. I assume they have an outdoor Biergarten for summer and so on. The menu is fairly extensive with most classical Bavarian food on offer. They also have a selection of drinks besides beer. I settled for the Wöllner Schnitzel which was made with pork that had a mustard coating. It was really good and I loved it. The Kaiserschmarrn we had was also quite ok. The service was good and friendly and overall it was a great experience. I would happily come here again. It's great beer and the food is also quite good here. It's just a stones throw from the S Bahn Station. A great find recommended to us by a friend who lives near here.

Our waiter was an older gentlemen who spoke very little English and made zero effort to help us with the menu. The menu was entirely in German and we had no service to translate anything so I just picked the Wienerschnitzel and my girlfriend ordered a vegetarian ravioli. Both dishes came out relatively fast and looked great. My schnitzel was very tasty and fresh while my girlfriends ravioli was extremely flavorful. We ordered the Oktoberfest beer since we couldn't really read or tell what the other beers were. The Oktoberfest beer was very light, almost like a coors light lol the weissbier is where it's at. Highly recommend getting the weissbier at any and all restaurants as it is the stronger and more flavorful selection. Later in the evening a younger girl asked us if we needed anything and spoke English, she also helped us with ordering other drinks and even called us a cab since we had no service to use Uber. I wish she was our original server and was a little annoyed he did not even ask her to help us in the first place. He also did not give me my change trying to take advantage of the fact that Americans tip, and in Germany the tip is included. I didn't want to make a big deal over 5 more euros but pretty rude. This would be the main reason for only 3 stars. Other than that it was a cool experience and beautiful beer garden for outside seating.
