I also ordered a beer of course and the service was great. I loved the outside feel on a perfect day. The pork knuckle had lots of meat and a crispy skin from roasting. Delish! Honestly, the food was all pretty tasty. I quite liked the apple strudel with loads of cream and the leberkase. Fries were also nice and crispy. They give you tokens when you order beer but don't really tell you what to do with them. Keep them with you as you return them along with your beer glasses to get a reimbursement. I wonder if that means you can just take the glasses with you if you don't return them.

There is a fairly big area with table service and of course a self serve Biergarten. We sat in the self serve area. They serve Spaten beer here and their Maibock was really good. The ambiance is phenomenal, and our waiter was very friendly and made excellent recommendations. If you go there and you're a tourist, ask them to show you what's good! I had the veal schnitzel and it was sublime. Yes, a schnitzel, which is a humble dish, can be superb when it's this well done. The meat was tender and flavorful, the soft breading complemented it well and the cranberry sauce was the perfect accompaniment! Finally, the potato salad that comes with it would make any German proud. Finally, what blew us out of the water was the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert!!! I don't usually add three exclamation points in my review, but this one deserves it. The portion is generous, so you can easily share it with two or three people. It comes with plum and apple sauce on the side and it is exquisite. The little bit size pieces are fluffy, perfectly sweet, and refined. It's truly the best way to end your meal.
