"Leib und Seele" means "body and soul" and is much better than other well-known "tourist-traps" in Munich. They offer good typically Bavarian food at reasonable prices. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. This restaurant is centrally located in the heart of Munich and many local people eat here.

I was invited to go here for dinner by a friend who happens to live very close to this place. I understand that, this is a long time Lehel establishment and that, at one point used to brew their own beer on premises. The ambience of this place is really nice. The interiors are done well and in a typical Bavarian pub style with lots of dark wood. There is outdoor seating as well, however, it is very close to a busy road so at times the traffic can be noisy. Like many restaurants around Munich dogs are allowed indoors :-) The food and drink menu is extensive and reasonable, ranging from €8-22 for food and a ton of drink choices including some cocktails. There is an extensive breakfast menu as well. I had the burger and it was delicious. The meat was of good quality and well cooked. The French fries were well done and the side of coleslaw was delicious. My plate was wiped clean when it went back ;-)) All in all a great evening, great food and relaxed atmosphere. The service was a bit slow however seeing that we were not in a hurry it did not matter. Happily come back here any day for a meal and drinks.

Dark wheat beer. Fresh & tasty. Rating: Good.

Waitress did a very good and pleasant to deal with. The weißbier (wheat beer) is fresh & good. The Bavarian roast pork with beer gravy & potato dumpling is tasty and good. The pork skin is crispy, but the gravy is a bit salty for my taste. Prices are more reasonable than similar establishments at Marienplatz. I will come back to this restaurant when I return to Munich.

I got the roast pork and it was FANTASTIC!!

Located just behind Old Town on Frauenplatz, it's a little off the beaten track, but not too hard to find. This Bavarian gem has been around for over 125 years. The food was so good. Here you will find traditional German, Bavarian food. We stopped by for lunch and it was packed with mostly locals. We were seated a large table with 3 other couples who were all from the area. One person brought his dog who kept running under the table to sniff my leg. Minus the dog, this was a treat and everyone was so nice. We even toasted when the cold Augustiner beer arrived. Again, we were told to order the sausages so we did. I ordered the 6 and my husband ordered the 8 sausages with sauerkraut. These looked like what we call breakfast sausage, they're thin but pack a a ton of flavor and were delicious, especially with the fresh sauerkraut. The staff was friendly and helpful with an English version menu. The atmosphere was cool and very authentic. Exactly what we were looking for when in Munich.

I stopped by here by myself maybe around 6pm on a Monday and was seated at a table because the bar was full, but told I only had an hour since they were full for reservations. That was totally fine and knew I wouldn't be more than that. If you are coming here with other people, you definitely need to make a reservation. The servers are dressed in traditional German clothes which is a very cool touch. Everyone I spoke to also spoke English. I ordered the schnitzel and whichever beer they recommended with it. I am typically NOT a beer person, but of course I had to try one and whatever this was, was very good. The schnitzel was so crispy and also very delicious. Highly recommend this place!!

The service at Haufbrauhaus was terrible. I ordered a seasonal beer and it was fantastic and the outside seating was wonderful on a perfect day. Our server was awesome and spoke perfect english. I ordered the charcuterie board and it had a couple of hummus scoops and a beef stick and this scoop of stuff that was way too rich for me with pieces of butter in it, but the Germans love it. The pretzels that came with it were great and the cream cheese scoop went perfectly on the pretzel. One of the best meals in Munich, give it a try.
