I am totally pleased with David and his family business Wireless Planet, 1316 Aviation Blvd. in Hermosa Beach (310) 318-0505. My WiFi has always been sketchy in my 3 story split level home, since we first got it more than a decade ago. Version, then Frontier tried to solve the problems with one router after the other. The Geek Squad did no better, when they installed a Google Nest last February. At that point, all my connectivity took a turn to the bad, until last month when Frontier helped it get worse. My four Sengled Snap security cameras and Ring Door Bell and Stick up cameras worked even less. I was one hair from getting a new printer and I was at my wits end, willing to invest more to do whatever was necessary to get a fix. I searched the Internet, and asked people for recommendations with no particular luck. Then last week driving down Aviation Blvd. a couple blocks before PCH, I saw some signage for Wireless Planet. My intuitive mind said, that what I needed. I swung around, put on my mask and went in to the store. There I meet David Gidanian, who was available and anxious to help me. I told him what the problem was, and he said with confidence, that's exactly what I specialize in. We made an appointment at my home for his next available date. He came and first tried (for an hour+) to restore the Google Nest to function and reset its factory settings, ending with conclusion that the system was defective and not working. He then said, he could solve this problem. He disconnected the Google Nest and hooked up an Eero Home WiFi System (1 eero + 2 eero Beacons), 2nd Generation Model: M010301, which he had the foresight to bring with him. Within a few minutes the beacons were placed and ready to go. David than took all our devices, TVs, and security devices, mated them with new system and now EVERYTHING WORKS! So on Tuesday morning I was rushing out of my home to get my day going - gym them work! I placed my cell phone on the roof of my car and completely unaware- I took off. I made it all the way to my gym - about 3 miles from home and realized my phone was nowhere to be found! I went back home hoping that it was in my garage or drive- no luck! So I drive my same route to the gym and about a half a mile there it was in the street with a completely destroyed screen! But the case that it was in saved the phone because it was still working just no screen! I found Wireless Planet on Yelp with high rates and great customer comments and decided to give them a shot! The young man Chris who assisted me was fantastic! He had a replacement screen in the store buy when he tried it - phone was on but no display. He said that the screen he had might be faulty and he order another to try and hopefully take care of it. Two days later my phone is successfully back up and running!! I came here early around 9 am without appointment thank goodness I didn't have to wait. I was the first walked in customer and they fix the broken screen ASAP. David was great, spoke on the phone gave me a quote, I was at his shop in 20 minutes, less tan 20 minutes I was out of there with my new screens, yes plural, screen plus touch screen, if you see yellow discoloration be prepared it will need to be replaced. Very happy, bring my wife's 5S in for a diagnosis on battery issue and a horrible job done on the screen by that place on PCH, yeah don't go there they replaced my wife's screen 3 times still lifts up. read more

After 3 or 4 trips to the Apple Store, rebooting, losing info, etc.. all trying to figure out what was wrong with my iPhone 6 - the Apple store finally said, they think it is the battery...oh, but it will take 3 weeks to get a battery... I then recalled that a friend had suggested Chris at Wireless Planet! I easily made a morning appointment online and off to Chris I went. BTW I was going out of town that evening for a week and REALLY needed my phone. Chris immediately showed me why he thought battery ...yep had one in stock will take about an hour (Pheww I can do that). After about an hour I return and all complete! YAY...but wait now new battery seems to be dying quick and no charge...low and behold bad battery - but Chris swapped it quickly and threw in a new screen protector for my inconvenience ! It has been just a bout a month and phone still working! He did suggest my lighting cord slot may need to be changed soon, but not yet! They were quick with the repair but the glass they use broke easier than the original screen, so the very same day I had a broken screen again. As I write this I see someone else's warranty was voided by the cheap screen. A+++ Service. My iphone 6 started acting wonky. Full battery one minute, 78% the next. It was all over the map. It would also reboot itself at times. I stopped in late on Friday night and Chris did a diagnostic test on it and confirmed my suspicions, old battery. Chris started right away on the battery exchange. While sitting there with idle thumbs, they sent out their ferocious guard dog Ren, a sweet little pup who loves to snuggle. I doubt that it was 15 minutes before I was paying and out the door. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G that is 2.5 years old. Six months after I purchased it, I fell with the face of the phone straight down hard on the cement. I feared the glass was shattered, but there was only a hairline crack. I lived with that crack with no problems for two years until it started to cause some issues a few months ago. I was going to buy a new phone but was hesitant to get into a 3 year payment plan contract to pay for it. My alternet plan was to see if i could fix it by simply replacing the glass. I went back to Wireless Planet, where I had a different cell phone glass fixed 4 years ago. The glass replacement was a bit expensive but only 1/4 the cost of a new phone. I worked with Chris & and Nate, who were extremely helpful and communicated the status of the glass order arrival & quick repair. My phone feels brand new now & it should last a long time until I want to upgrade. I highly recommend this business not only for cell phone repairs but for all your computer type needs. read more

Oh yelp. Your positive reviews made me so hopeful. My MacBook Pro has an issue where the case is separating from the screen. Everything still works, it's just a little scary when I close the lid. The apple store recommended I replace the entire screen for around $350. It's about time to upgrade but I wasn't quite ready and my laptop still worked perfectly so I decided to wait. I called wireless planet to see if they could help me out and told me to come in so one of their techs could take a look at it. I went in, was helped out by David, and left my laptop there to see what they could do. They called me the same day to let me know they opened up the case and unfortunately the case was bent and the entire screen had to be replaced like what the apple store had told me. Bummer but no big deal. The big deal was when I got my laptop home and it refused to turn on. I got a grey apple logo screen and then it shut down no matter how many times I tried. I need my laptop for work and it was terrible timing - I was going out of town for weekend so I was a bit panicked and left a voicemail for David the same night. The next day I called again and spoke to David (who never seems to check his voicemails so good luck trying to reach him that way) and he said he didn't know why that was happening but I could bring in my laptop and they would try to figure it out. Since I was already catching a flight out, a friend dropped off my laptop on Saturday. Wireless Planet is closed Sunday so I called on Monday to check the status of my laptop. This is where my negative experience comes in. On Monday David was apparently too busy to speak to me so I spoke to one of his coworkers. That coworker kept telling me to be "patient" and to give them a "day or two." Fine. Thursday. David calls me and tells me he has no idea what's going on, he talked to his "friends from apple" and they think it's maybe a software issue and he can do nothing. Wow, thanks for holding my laptop from Saturday til Thursday to tell me absolutely nothing! I got my laptop back, took it to the apple store where they diagnosed the problem in under 20 minutes and fixed it in an hour. I'm not going to blame David and Wireless Planet for breaking my laptop - it was coincidence most likely that my laptop broke after being in their hands. What I do hold them accountable for is incompetence and poor customer service. Please read the reviews carefully if you are considering using Wireless Planet. Maybe my mistake was trusting my laptop to a company that deals mostly with cellphones. And honestly, I wouldn't even trust my phone to a company with such poor communication and lack of skills. read more

I brought it in today and had a brand new lens in 30 minutes at a perfectly reasonable cost. They informed me of my options without hitting me with any hard upsell which was much appreciated. Came here to get my phone unlocked. I have a Iphone 4S w/Verizon and I wanted to switch to AT&T. Trip #1: The manager said they charge $65 but I had to go to AT&T first. Trip #2: I came back and told the employee that I need an unlock and it would be done today. I received a call later in the day that their server was down and it would be done in the morning. Trip #3: W/O a call (on my GF's phone) and after I emailed them (rec'd no response) I talked with the guy there and he assured it'd be done in 20 min so I should wait. After 45 min he told me he can unlock it but I would receive no text messages. Really? That does me no good at all so we agreed that it'd be best to revert to my original info. AFter another 15 minutes he handed my phone over and I was completely disappointed and didn't have any phone service for 2 days. If you can't do the job, at least compensate the customer for time wasted!!! Complete disappointment. read more

So I've been in here for 2 different issues so far. 1 I had to unlock an old 3GS to use abroad. $55 and it was done with a factory unlock, meaning if AT&T has to replace it they will give me another unlocked phone. No problems there. I was just in this weekend cause my phone got wet and my home button wasn't working and the power port was being weird. $80 for that repair. They replaced the power port and I guess they had a bad batch cause the first one didn't work so they had to order new ones. That took a day, then when I picked it up the next day it wasnt quite ready so I had to come back. When I did later that day I realized my mic wasnt working(part of the charging port assy) so I brought it in Monday morning and he fixed it right of me. He had to go through 2 other charging ports to find a good one but finally did. I appreciate tem takin care of the issues for such a far price. Apple stores suck, pretty much anything that can't be solved by upgrading or rebooting they say can't be repaired them they sell you a warranty phone with like a 60 day warranty. TERRIBLE. try this place. It makes way more sense read more

I came here because I had a problem that no one seemed to be able to figure out. Chris made a quick and accurate diagnosis and went to work. I had to buy a new phone and have data transferred to the new phone. Chris did an excellent job. He was very honest and gave me a very fair price to do the work. I went to Wireless Planet to purchase an unlocked mobile phone for travel purposes. I called prior to visiting and was told that there was an unlocked apple iPhone 3gs for sale. The woman on the phone was pleasant. When I arrived at the shop, the woman I spoke to and two other guys were sitting behind a desk. There were no other customers in the shop but nevertheless, it took a moment before I was greeted. She was very helpful but had to ask one of the guys behind the desk what the return policy was. He was on the phone at the time an took a while to answer. I decided to purchase the phone after waiting about 15-20 minutes for them to charge it so that it could be tested. I asked if the phone could be updated, and she looked to the guy who had answered previously and he replied "It can't be updated past ios 6.1.3." I repeated his answer to make sure it was clear. He remained on the phone while he answered the question, never making eye contact and was visibly annoyed about a customer asking questions. Go figure. I updated the phone to 6.1.3 and it was no longer unlocked and had to be returned. The "guy" was very rude, aggressive, and condescending when I had to return the phone & charged me $25 dollars for his lack of customer service. He insisted that he told me it could not be updated beyond the current ios which was a blatant lie. Perhaps if he had been paying attention and actually attending to his customers he would have known that. This has been one of the most unpleasant customer service experiences I've had while visiting America & I do not recommend using their services. In fact, I will make sure I handle all those types of purchases in Germany before traveling. Very disappointed. read more

This review is long overdue, like 5 years long over due! I came here initially by referral, because my now ex-husband threw my iPhone at the corner beam of a wall and not only smashed my phone, but the phone was bent in an awkward way. I had no hope that anything could be done, but Chris magically fixed it. Since then, I've brought in several other iPhones with various other problems and my MacBook Pro (that my daughter shoved two DVD's into the drive). I tried my hand at bringing them to the Apple store and I stumped the Genius Bar on how to fix any of those phones or my MacBook Pro, but every time Chris was able to fix them! Then I brought in my latest challenge for him with my iPhone X (completely avoiding the Apple store) and it took a little longer this time, but he figured it out! He saved me from spending another $1k plus on a new phone. I will never go anywhere else. Chris has been able to figure out every problem, every time-- even the oddest, most uncommon things that have happened to my Apple products. I already told him I cracked my other iPhone plus' screen again and now my MacBook that's 9 years old is acting up, but I have full faith in Chris. If anyone can fix it, it's him!
