In response to the owner, I did provide descriptions for additional projects in the original request. I was concerned about potential damage to the tiles that could require significant repairs. I have expressly said that I was willing to pay a premium for proper handling of the situation. When I mentioned those concerns, other providers did express a lot more caution about the tile situation and they came out to make sure it could be done. I understand that there's an opportunity cost to come out in person but I expected a premium service provider to be able to do so. That's simply not materialized.

Javier just finished the complete upgrade of our internet and AV system. I had been working with…read moreanother company for more than 20 years and wanted to stay with them. But they only handled Elan and I wanted to go to Control 4. I interviewed 4 companies and Javier was the only one to point out that we had Cat 3 cable and to get the highest speeds we needed to go to Cat6, which would require some rewiring. Also, other companies me told that I needed an equipment rack to straighten out the cable mess in my cabinet. Javier said he could take care of that without a rack. This would be a cost saving of about $2000! I found the following to be very positive about Javier and the team he works with: 1) Always available (I've contacted him early in the AM and late at 9pm and he always answered promptly, courteously, and knowledgeably. 2) He bid what was needed and got me the best prices possible 3) He was on time and on budget 4) He left the job site clean 5) Everything worked! 6) His bid was half of what my prior vendor bid for a system that provides everything we need and more. 7) Before Javier, we never got more than 200Mbps even though we paid for gigabit service. With Javier's upgrade we now get over 900MBPS everywhere in the house. I include a before and after picture so you can see his handiwork. There was an Amp and AVR in an adjacent cabinet that he was able to consolidate into the one neat setup where everything can be accessed easily. I recently bought a house in rural San Diego county and I needed to get a doorbell system…read moreinstalled. This house was built in the 1950's and it has never been wired for a doorbell. I tried those battery powered video doorbells, and they worked well but the batteries would always run out when I was out of town or at work, making the camera feature useless. Battery powered doorbells suck, and they are not a permanent solution for anyone. Great for an apartment, but terrible for a house that you actually own. I also already had a Simplisafe home security system, and I wanted to add the Simplisafe Video Doorbell Pro to the rest of my security system. Unfortunately the Video Doorbell Pro has to be wired, and is designed to only be used in a pre-existing doorbell system. I didn't realize how complicated a doorbell system was until I started doing the research. Trust me, even as a decent home handyman, or tech industry guy you're not ready for this one. There's lots of in wall wiring, and crawling around in the attic and things that can permanently damage your home if you mess it up. Hire a professional. I started looking for work estimates via a Yelp project search and eventually came across Dmitri and the team from North West Alarms. I got many estimates, and North West Alarms wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive, somewhere in the middle. North West Alarms had very high ratings, but I chose them because the way Dmitri asked the correct questions in the beginning gave me a lot of high hopes for their competence to do the job right the first time. I decided to give them a try and I was not disappointed. Dmitri and his electrician Vitaly arrived on time, early actually. They did a great job installing my Simplisafe Video Doorbell Pro, Defiant 16v 30a transformer, and Defiant doorbell chime. There is an issue with the Simplisafe video doorbell and most chimes, make sure to call Simplisafe customer service before your install and request a free " Doorbell chime connector" which will resolve any weird issues you might have with your chime. No joke, installing a doorbell is a lot of work, i'm glad I didn't try and do this one myself. Dmitri and Vitaly offered a service and results that are as good as anyone can possibly hope for, and I would highly recommend them if you need electrical work done. They did the job right the first time, and that's the highest compliment I can ever give to a business. 5 stars.

HAZARD. Dangerous undersized wires!…read more Electrical work not done to code, and no permits were pulled. Refused to bring work up to code when code violations were identified . This company installed a 60amp circuit for an EV charger using a 8 awg which way too small. This is a dangerous code violation. This company is cuts corners and lies about installing the proper wire sizes. Please inspect any work you have had done by north west alarms for potentially dangerous violations. Violations: 1.) Installing a NM-B 8/3 (8awg) wire too small for the 60amp breaker used, the wire is only rated for 40amps. This creates fire hazard. ( code section NEC Table 310.15(B)(16)). 8awg wire is NOT acceptable for a 60 amp breaker in a residential install. 2.) Using NM-B interior only rated wire an exterior conduit ( code section NEC 300.9)
