Simply the best! I overloaded my home's electrical system during a heat wave. Rather than come to my home and charge me out of the gate to fix the problem Dave patiently went through some home tests that may remedy the problem. They worked! His work product and customer service orientation exceeded our expectations, on every level. I needed the replacement and re-wiring of a garbage disposal unit power cord, the installation (replacement) of a damaged wall plug assembly and the extraction of an old overhead range exhaust fan - along with the installation of a new replacement unit, which I had already purchased and had on hand. Within 20 minutes of my phone call, Wire Works had arrived and was engaged in addressing these several tasks, completing all work in a very professional, straightforward manner, within approximately an hour or so, at a price that we found to be very fair and attractive. Dave at Wire Works does a fantastic job! Several years ago I noticed a plug in my closet had black marks all around it on the paint. Turns out something inside of the switch caught on fire, so we were VERY lucky it did not spread. We called Dave and he immediately came out to fix the switch at a very reasonable price. SIX stars. Dave not only knows his business, he helps you figure out how to do yours better. Here's what he accomplished in two short half-days: he went with me to Lowe's to help me pick out lights that would work best in our house. He helped us figure out the best light coverage then installed five spots in the kitchen and removed the old fixture. He repaired the loose connections in the dining room fixture. He re-did four hall spots, added another spot in the upstairs hall, then he did the nasty attic business: wired for and installed overhead lights in two rooms. Then he made sure it all worked. Dave was a disappointment. I was hesistant on calling him b/c some of the reviews makes it seem like he's flaky. I should have gone with my gut. For his first visit where he gave me a quote, he was more than an hour late. I can't recall what his excuse was. Then for the actual work, he was suppose to come at 10am. I got a call at 10am that he just woke up (he went out with his gf the day before and got back late) and will be there after breakfast. So by 12:30 he's no where to be found. He leaves me a message saying he had an emergency call from another customer, that it was resolved, he's going to get some food and he will be there shortly. I'm thinking...if he was responsible, he won't eat and get his a$$ here asap. Needless to say, he never showed and gave no follow up phone call. What a disapointment. I stayed home from work for this. Even from our first meeting, I got the sense he doesn't put work as priority. He says he doesn't like to do big jobs. Well, yeah, you need to be responsible and have accountability the bigger the jobs. Also, he was the only electrician that wouldn't give me a written quote. Oh yeah, the other day he also told me he would give me a call when he was at the supply store to see if what I needed was there since he was heading over there. I never got that call. Also, I found out from a real estate agent friend that she used Dave once too for an electrical inspection on a house she was closing on. He came and was suppose to provide a written quote. She called him numerous times and he never got back to her with the quote. Needless to say, she was under time crunch since the house was in contract. She had to scramble and get someone else. Obviously, my experience wasn't a fluke. Do yourself a favor, get someone that cares about their job. I called BV Electric and they were able to squeeze me in early the next day. The guy even did part of the job right then and there since he had a few hours before his next appointment. No drama and responsible. read more

Dave saved the day!!! It's been very stormy with super high winds!! Woke up to a LIVE (hot) power line in my driveway and in the street, having snapped apart in the wind storm! My roof weatherhead (where power lines connect to the house) was bent and broken. Called PG&E. Fire department arrived first to secure the area from traffic and keep people safe from the live wire. PG&E removed the damaged power line but PG&E could not connect power back to damaged weatherhead and informed me that I needed an electrician. Never needed one before so didn't know who to call and started calling companies from the Pacifica phone book. Dave showed up within one hour of my panicked early rainy morning call. He repaired the weatherhead, patched the roof and worked with PG&E to get the city inspector out on a rush basis to approve the job so the power could be restored. I am a in-home care provider for a person with disabilities and Dave and PG&E (Lloyd, you ROCK!) prioritized this job so that my client did not have to spend the night with a respite provider! The repair cost more than I expected for this type of job but Dave assured me the price was lower than other electricians would charge! :-) I invited him to come back and bid on work needed inside the house. Recommend him highly. I'm so grateful to Dave, Lloyd from PG&E, other PG&E staff who reconnected the power and Mike, the city inspector from Pacifica for rushing this repair! read more

I have lived in this little town a long time and been taken advantage of by the usual suspects when calling in a tradesperson. I have to declare that I found a true jewel in Wire Works and owner Dave. Houses don't have schedules for when they fall apart, but families do. Dave was able to come out on a first call on a Saturday afternoon. It was a fast large light fixture swap/upgrade in the kitchen but it was getting dark and he had to work by flashlight. He is SO fast and by that I mean SO experienced, he even had the tube lights for my upgrade in his truck that I had neglected to buy (I had old style on hand) or I would have been cooking dinner in the dark AGAIN. He was even available to help me figure out and repair another Linda Mar Rancher mystery and like I said - experinece is EVERYTHING. I did not get the usual pricing drama and manipulation that often follows your call when you need a contractor's fast help and have to pay for it, for any reason. I can do quite a bit on my own, but I needed a lic. electrician in this instance - and instead I found an expert at pinch hitting for the homeowner that when they needed straight up help - they got help and NOT with the typical lack of people skills ( my dad was an exceptional tradesman but that human being thing really stumped him sometimes and detracted from his gift.). This is a town where if you don't know who to call you can really get burned when you are already in a pinch - and WireWorks is who you call when you need electrical of any kind. A true, knowledgeable and experineced tradesman with references and wow - can it be possible? - an indpependent service professional right here in Pacifica and you don't have to know his family to get a fair shake~~!! read more

I was driving to work... and I honked my horn at this companies vehicle because he wasn't turning right and the light was green. The driver decided to tailgate me... once he was done with his road rage he turned right onto sneath lane and decided to make a gesture with his hand like a gun... he is lucky I didn't have my son in the car because I would be calling the cops!!! Was it really worth putting your life and other people's lives in danger because I honked my horn one time? I wouldn't want to give this company my business not a good look!!! read more

He also helped us modify another light fixture for installation over our kitchen table, and he provided assistance with installing ductwork for a range hood. What a blessing I was referred to Dave. My electrical panel caught on fire during the big storm. I called Dave on Saturday and on Sunday he met with me and gave me a proposal. We've had Dave fix a number of electrical issues ranging from a doorbell that didn't work, a bathroom plug that kept tripping the breaker and a new electrical panel for a rental house. Today, he fixed my washing machine. The previous service tech (from a warranty company) stole the code manual for our washer so we were stuck trying to find out what our error code meant. A local service tech told us it was a drain issue but that wasn't the case. When my husband noticed that a wire had come out of a harness, he called Dave. WARNING!!! Dave Damarco owner of Wire Works in Pacifica, Calif, is NOT a licensed contractor as he portrays he is. Dave Damarco cannot get a state license until he pays off his civil suit judgement against him. If you hire Dave Damarco and it requires city's permits make sure you see the permit(s) before any work is performed. He cannot take out city permits without a state contractor's license. And any work that requires city's permits is perform the owner of the dwelling will be held responsible and will face fines from the city. Last year Dave Damarco had done some electrical work and stated he has a state license and that he will get the city's permits. I took his word and it turned out he had told lies. His work was not even up to standards and would not had passed inspection. His work had to be torn out and redone by a new electrical contractor I hired. When I told him of the problem and asked for a refund he refused, forcing me to take him to court. I won the judgement for the full amount that i had paid him, and now he refuses to pay the judgement. So, now I have to take him to court once again to collect payment. I had tried to be nice to him but all it got me was taking the time to take him to court. If you need to hire a electrical contractor make sure you see the state license and prior to any work done, be sure you see the city's permit(s) or else you can go through what I went through. You can also check to see if the licese is valid by going to CSLB.com and search for the company, it will tell you if the company is license and will show youthe bond company they are required to have. Dave Damarco is NOT a perfectionist, his work had almost caused a fire in my house, the work he had done had to be re-done by another electrican, Dave did not even finish the job and avoided coming back to finish the job knowing he couldn't get the city inspector to come out to inspect the work so PG&E can install the new meter, due to the fact he couldn't get the required permit.
