This worked out well. The Prius had a dead battery after 5 months of sitting . He was able to jump it. And time had not erased the memory. But it died after he left. So he will return in a few minutes and tow it to service to get charged, get the emissions done and rotate and balance. Can't take a chance on it quitting on the way to repair. Great experience with Winters tow. Reached out over AAA. They came quickly. The driver was super nice. When they couldn't jump the battery, they just towed me to a local shop. No fuss. Not sure what all the bad reviews are about. Near as I can tell it's people mad because their car got towed when they shouldn't have been parking somewhere so now they are taking it out on the two shop. 5 stars! We took a wrong turn in winters and ended up frame deep in the mud. Aaa turned us down, the sheriff's turned us down. We had for kids in the car. There was not a person anywhere. Winters towing sent a flat bed that could not get to us, the manager was calm and reassuring and told me he would not leave us stranded. He brought his personal jeep and pulled us out of the mud! 5 stars for you guys who kept at it until we were free and back on the road. You have no idea what it literally meant to us. I have used their service a few times. Jump start and a lockout both as a AAA service. Fast, very nice and easy on my car for the lock out. Unconscious.. the refused access when I got out, refused to talk to me, treated me like sh@t my They are flat out of thieves and are being reported to the better business bureau. If the tow your car sue them, and put a lien on their property. They did a lien against my car in a week. I'm suing them for a brand new car. Their driver showed up to my shop with a customer's vehicle. I asked them if the vehicle runs, "I don't know". I asked them who it belongs too, "I don't know". I told him I need to figure it out and "hang on one sec". Driver tells me "You have 10 seconds and I'm dropping it right here". I told him to take the car and leave. I don't need this kind of attitude. I went in the office to look up the vehicle info and see on my cameras that the driver is dumping the car in the middle of the lot. I told him , "If you drop it there you aren't leaving in your truck". The driver pulls it cack on his bed. He then pulls in front of my neighbor's building and starts dropping it there. I explained again to get the car out of here. He has the mail man blocked against the building. I put cars in front of and to the side of his truck until he picks the vehicle back up. He tells me I'm kidnapping him. I explained he's free to leave but he's not abandoning a car in my lot. He picked it back up and left. I called his boss who explained that I should know what's coming in and who's car it is. Arrogant jerk doesn't seem to understand you can't show up somewhere and tell them they have 10 seconds to do something. They left with the vehicle. I get more calls from the owner of the vehicle and Winters Tow's owner asking if I'll take the vehicle. I explained if the driver puts it in a parking spot I'll allow it to come back. Even though at this point I really want to hit the driver in the head with a ratchet. The driver comes back and starts to drop it again. I tell him again, "put it where the Volvo is". I move the Volvo. Thinking he's going to drop the car high and roll it back into the spot he drops the car right in the center of the parking lot and then drives off. Being a one man shop I can't deal with dead cars unless I can pull them straight into the shop. This is the reason for needing to know if it drives or not. Where he left it made it unmanageable. I went around to the other isde of the building and stopped the driver. I told him that he can leave through the other side of the building. Only he can't because he left the car in the middle of the drive. I gave him the option of puting the car in the spot or again leaving with it. He picked it up and left. Way too much time wasted. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!!! I deal with tow truck drivers and tow companies all the time. They refer business to me. Normally it's pretty simple and we work together but these guys are crazy. Usually I read reviews with a little reservation. Their reviews seem spot on. Horrible. I used my 3a because I was in a accident. Their rude driver came out and told me that he was to lazy to do an accident call and left. Which was whatever I got roadrunner to take care of it. Then to find out later when I needed my 3a due to the fact I'm out of state for a funeral this company stated they provided services which they did not. I cannot belive 3a sode business like this. They told me I will be stuck on the side of the road for 5 to 10 days until they can prove it I am lieing or not. Like wow I am a disabled veteran. I thought I gave enough allready. Guess not. Danny saved the day. For two cars and 4 people. 8 AM, I get a call from a friend. Service is horrible, but I understand that my friend and I need to go pick up our friend and his lady because their car is stuck in a ditch. Cell service is horrible, so I only have that information. Needless to say, my friend and I (the rescue effort) get stuck in a ditch, too. Walk out to the main road to call for help (yay for cell service), then begin a very long trek up a steep, windy dirt road with a ditch on one side and deep groove on the other. Pass our vehicle. Keep walking, see my friend's car. Oh, you got stuck in that ditch. See our friend walking down the hill to greet us and shared a frustrating laugh that we managed to get 2 cars stuck in the same ditch. Since we already called AAA for the 1st car, we decide to surprise our tow driver with the 2nd car, to see what he can do. (we couldn't get cell service to call anyways). Danny arrived in less time than AAA quoted. He was very polite and calm, open to assessing both cars. I definitely appreciate that he evaluated the cars' positioning and gave us a recommendation, but left it open in case car owners weren't comfortable. But we were on board. Even when his tow truck began sliding down the hill, he calmly walked over to check the brakes and slip wood blocks under his tires. Danny could have left us stranded on the hill, trying to turn our vehicles around and drive back down, but he helped us out. Guided the 1st car to reverse down the hill without hitting the grooves or ditch. Helped do an Austin Powers turn around with the other car, so it could go forward down the hill. He was even considerate enough to get our signatures for the first car while we were already up the hill instead of meeting us at the bottom then making us walk back up again. Thank you for QUICKLY, calmly, patiently, and skillfully extracting both cars on a surprise 2-car extraction. Your demeanor also helped us manage our own frustration and stress. You had us back on the road in no time, so we could make it to the wedding reception. read more

We had a customers car arrive with this tow company, first he approaches the office asking where he should drop the vehicle, at first you could tell he had attitude and hated his job, so we then tell him he can park it in a spot near where the vehicle would be taken off the truck (as we tell him he turns around and gives a nasty look and then continues to walk back to his truck without saying a word). Then he takes the car off the truck and pulls it straight back, parks it in the middle of the driveway (not even in the spot we had asked when he asked where the vehicle would go), leaves the keys in the vehicle, doesn't approach us or anything and leaves and takes off. If this employee represents this business then i feel sorry for anyone who gets a tow from this guy! read more

This company is THE WORST! They are so bad there should be a new LEVEL OF WORST! My good friend got into an accident in early October and Winters Tow responded and took her vehicle, her car was totaled. Initially (because she lives with us), we were in contact with Winters Tow to try to get her personal effects from her car, and they said that they had been sued before for allowing third parties in and therefore we could not get her things. Her attorney and her insurance agent have been trying for 3 weeks to speak with someone at this company to get them to release her things to us and no one picks up the phone. Now, her car has been liened by them and is up for Auction in November some time and her phone has been stolen from the car (secure facility right???) and someone tried to unlock the phone 20+ times. I called to have a conversation with the owner about an illegal and unsafe pass one of their drivers made, and was treated as badly by the owner as I was by the driver who passed me who almost got us killed by going head on with another vehicle on a 2 lane country road. All he had to do was wait a few seconds out of his day to pass safely, but that's too much to ask. Apparently it's also too much to ask to be treated with respect on the telephone, as well. Dayce, if that's the correct spelling, is a completely unreasonable thinker, and dangerous to others behind the wheel. These people are the worst. My brother wrecked a very valuable anniversary Harley Davidson and these guys had every intention of trying to lien it and keep it. They treated our Mom and 91 year old grandmother with no respect and told them to get off the property. All they wanted was his cell phone from the saddle bags. They didn't give that up either. The best flat tire I have ever had! My "run flat" tire decided to explode on the 505. I called AAA and they were courteous, prompt, and concerned about my safety. Francis from Winters Tow arrived quicker than expected and provided top notch service. He was also concerned about my safety and well being. He was very professional and had a great sense of humor. He didnt want to take my truck where I wanted it to go because it was far and he was only getting "pennies on the dollar thru AAA" so he decided not to take it at all and tell AAA that we were irate and he couldn't help us. My wife had our vehicle's starter go out in the middle of nowhere and needed a tow. She was stranded in a very remote area at night. She requested a tow through CSAA and Winters Tow Service responded. Danny was helpful and tried to do everything he could (short of taking the car apart) to get the starter to get going. He moved the car to a safe area with good lighting so we could figure out are options to get the car fixed. The closest town/city that had a repair shop was about 20 miles away. We decided to get the car towed to a repair shop closer to home. I looked for a towing company on the internet since I did not know who AAA sent on the first call. Fortunately, Winters Tow Service, responded again and we were helped by the owner, Dacey. He provided great service and was very helpful. We were able to get our vehicle towed closer to home and dropped off at a repair shop. Dacey made a recommendation where to get the vehicle fixed. I am normally leery about recommendations but I felt comfortable with his decision and went with it. Dacey used a flatbed tow truck versus a regular wrecker and didn't charge extra. It is always a hassle to get your car towed, but I recommend Winters Tow Service if you have to have your car towed in this area. read more

I needed their help with a donation. The donation was not for tax purposes so I needed them to return the van. I offered to pay it with my AAA insurance and the tow truck driver wouldn't give me his name or the direct phone number to his company. I feel like I've been robbed....and I didn't get my back up key back from him either! I should have insisted on a receipt before letting him take off with my handicapped van. This place is horrible. Customer service sucks. They will yell at you if you ask any questions. The guy will curse you out too for no reason at all. All i asked was how much it would be to release the car and he got mad. And they dont care who is around you either, they'll talk about your business while other people are around. We were on the side of the highway, ran out of fuel. AAA sent this company who actually has yellow diesel cans on their trucks but they are empty. They won't fill them up or deliver diesel. The driver could not figure out how to hook up our van for towing. He agreed to give us a ride to the gas station but would not give us a ride back. Basically left us stranded. I called AAA again for another solution (which there is none out here), I called to appeal to Winters Towing. I mean we are stuck and they are the ones who could help us. The guy argued with me on the existence of the diesel cans and hung up on me. Worst, most unhelpful people. Huge fail as a company, as road-side assistance and as human beings. AAA must have pushed them? as they finally came back around with that same diesel can filled up. They said they found a can lying around. Could have all been done in one friendly exchange. read more

Horrible experience. Extremely poor customer service. I would never use this towing service again, and the next time AAA wants to send them out, I will request a different towing service- even if they farther away. It would probably be faster. The driver was prompt, and called me at 12:47 to let me know he was looking for me and could not find me. I missed his call, and called him back at 12:50 to let him know where I was. He did not answer, so I left him a voicemail. At 12:57, I saw him drive by me and I called him. This time he answered me and said he could no longer assist me at the moment because he took another call and had to go to Orland. My truck was stuck in Winters, which is where the company is based out of. I could literally see his truck driving away as he told me I would have to wait for him to get back from Orland. I proceeded by calling the office of the tow company, and I spoke with the manager briefly. I told him what happened and that the driver that was supposed to assist me had headed to Orland to take a different call. I asked if there was any way he could send another driver to come assist me as it was over 90 degrees outside, I had no water, and I has already walked 1/2 a mile to meet the driver. He responded that I needed to call AAA, and he would not do anything to help me and hung up on me. After over two hours of waiting, the driver finally came to open my door. I told him I called him back 3 minutes after he called me, and he said that he didn't hear my call because he was on the phone with AAA, so he cleared my call and accepted a different call. He stated that he had to go to the other call instead of helping me, when he was right there in my line of sight, because he only has a certain amount of time to respond to calls. I guess he didn't have to respond to my call any further since he "cleared" it through his system, because he didn't bother to pick up my phone call or listen to the voicemail I left him 3 minutes after his first and only call to me to try to locate me. I told him how his boss hung up on me, and his response was that his boss was having a bad day. Unacceptable. read more
