Ribs we got were a big disappointment because the rub/seasoning used on them is amazing. The problem was, hardly any(not exaggerating) meat at all. I went to Winners BBQ to get a Rib Sandwich. The ribs on the sandwich were soo small that you had to pick up the top bun to see the ribs. I paid $8.00 for three baby back rib bones. My baby fingers were longer than the ribs that they put on this sandwich. I will not be going back to this establishment ever again. You do not get your monies worth, and the sides suck. I went to try this place out today, some co workers were raving about who cheap and good it is. My brisket was very dry, my banana pudding was like cement, the slaw didn't taste like slaw, my potato salad tasted like it came from a old container. I was mostly disappointed with the food. The brisket was sliced very thick. It was also dry with no flavor as though it was not slow smoked on a barbecue pit. The ribs were ok. The good things were the barbecue sauce and the greens. The macaroni and cheese was dry with not much cheese and the potato salad had nothing in it except mayo and mustard. I like mine with pickle relish and bell pepper. The goods don't outweigh the bads. Sad to say we won't be back. read more

My wife and I visited Winners for the first time today. We found the service exceptional! After that, we were not very happy. The baked potato with beef and chicken was sub par. The potato was over cooked and loaded with a glob of fatty beef and over seasoned chicken. It had the texture of baby food. The greens were over cooked and the potato salad was "eggy" and dry. Ribs, under cooked and rubbery with membrane and the sausage is cheap and fatty and without flavor. Their sauce is not too bad. The music is too loud and they need some type of ventilation for the smoke. I would also suggest bringing in a professional to decorate the place. Based upon the reviews posted, my wife and I visited Winners BBQ looking for a Sunday's dinner place and were both very disappointed having driven over twenty miles to reach the palace. While waiting for the food to be prepared, my wife visited the bathroom and it was VERY dirty and filthy as if it had not been cleaned in weeks. The sink bowl was covered in sauce and the door did not lock and was almost off of the hinges. The men's bathroom was a little better. Having seem the unclean and filthy bathrooms, we were discouraged to eat the food prepared in a place like this. The food was ok but worth coming to a place where cleanliness is not a priority. Went there for the first time for lunch. I eat out a lot I mean a lot. The lady at the counter was rude from the start. Asked for the half chicken she said all they had was dark meat. I said I don't eat legs she said no they can't do that. That's crazy for one. So the owner or manager was standing there so he said he could do all thighs. So a quarter chicken is two pieces. So then she tells me again that they can't do two thighs unless I get the two meat deal. Ok cool still rude as hell. So two pieces of chicken two sides a drink $16. Get my food it's a keg and a thigh. Ok so I let her know they still put a leg in there. She takes my food in the back comes back, we leave I get to work open my food it's one thigh. So I'm a little mad not much. So I go back to the store. I tell her that they gave me only one piece, she tells me that's what I ordered I tell her no it's not. She proceeds to tell me what I ordered only a one meat deal. Ok, so if I only ordered a one a one meat and one meat means one piece of chicken why y'all give me two pieces to start. Then she keeps talking to another employee that she know what I ordered. So I'm quiet then she says while other customers there that in her words " I know what I like " ok now I should have told her off. But the manager comes back with some chopped chicken ok forget it. I just visited this restaurant for the first time. I was told great things about their baked potato, so I purchased the baked potato. It was filled with fat , fatty brisket. The chicken was pieces of something that was unrecognizable as chicken, it was really nasty. The sausage had a horrible taste. I will not eat here again. I went recently with a friend and we both do not care to return. The meats were literally just average and the sides were super small portions. The BBQ sauce was not good and we both literally threw some of the food away. The interior was very raunchy and the staff certainly didn't comply with basic hygiene requirements. Long hair not properly tucked away and 2 of the males were wearing workout shirts with no sleeves...hope no arm pit hair drops in any food. There was only 1 person taking orders and managing the register and she kept going to the back area. If you needed something, you literally had to wait till she was both up front and free of customers placing orders. The food was not cheap and that said...I expect something better in all areas. We heard wonderful things about this BBQ joint and couldn't wait to try it. We read about the generous portions and the friendly service, bit that is not AT ALL what we experienced. I called the number provided on the website to inquire if we could order ahead for pick up. There was a generic answering machine that answered on the second ring stating the mailbox was full. OK. I emailed the address provided and asked for a call back. They called back within 20 minutes. That was nice. The young lady on the other end of the line said she didn't know "what was up with the phones" and they didn't accept call in orders, but "there was plenty of food if that was what you were worried about." OK. My husband stopped in on the way home to pick up food. The portions were not anything significant to write about and the flavors were so, so. My husband ordered the 3 meat plate with brisket, ribs, and chicken. I wish I had taken a picture to post. The plate had 2 tiny ribs, 2 slices of brisket, and 2 skinny chicken legs. The ribs were ok. They didn't have a memorable flavor. The brisket was fatty. And the chicken legs were burned. My son ordered the pulled pork. It was so salty he couldn't eat it. I ordered the sausage sandwich. The sausage looked store bought, was over cooked, and had no apparent smoke ring. The bun the sausage was placed on was too thick and sopped up all the bbq sauce which made it fall apart and unedible. They were out of banana pudding. The potato salad was the old saving grace to this whole fiasco. It was real southern potato salad. This restaurant was a real disappointment for all the hype. read more

Wow! As someone who was born and raised in Texas, I like to think I have a pretty good idea of what great, classic Texas barbecue is, and this place is a perfect example. A buddy of mine sent me a picture of their sandwich called the cyclone, and it looked good enough that I immediately got up and went to try it. I was unbelievably pleased. I got mine with chopped brisket, sausage, and ribs. The sausage is probably the best I've ever had. The brisket was unbelievably moist and had great bark, and the ribs were a great addition. I just took them off and ate them on the side. And then there is the bun. Super fresh and soft, and they put some of their rub on the outside of the bun, so you get an extra little kick when you inevitably lick your fingers. The mac n cheese was awesome too, and I am a pretty harsh critic when it comes to mac n cheese. The sauce was delicious too, but the sandwich didn't need it at all, and as all Texans know, that's the true sign of great barbecue. Do yourself a favor and go get a cyclone. You will be very happy that you did. The value for the money was excellent too. I got their biggest sandwich, a side of mac n cheese, and a drink for $15.
