Fast service and such a friendly employee! We needed a jump for a car in our garage. Loved the prompt friendly service!

We just stopped off here for gas. We checked Gas Buddy app and found this to be the cheapest place in the area we were traveling through. This is also known as a Shell Gas Station. We did not go inside the building so can't review much other than low gas price. Pumps worked well as did the credit card transaction and pumps were stocked with Window washer. read more

My car battery died the Tuesday morning after Labor Day, and I called Winks for service. They were at my house in less than two hours and jumped the battery. I needed a jump-start, and Winks did an awesome job. Matt took the call and was very courteous. He sent someone within the hour. Their prices were reasonable compared to another company in town that quoted me four times the price. With my recent hip fracture, I couldn't jump-start on my own, and Matt was considerate of that. Everything is working fine now. It's reassuring to see local businesses doing an honest job and not taking advantage of situations like the other guy was trying to do. I only gave 3 stars because of the price hike I had my car towed by Winks in December of last from my to an auto repair shop, it was only $80, I had the same tow last week and it cost $125. Service is still good, but they have become a part of the price jacking club, I suggest calling around and comparing pricing if this is going to be the norm. read more

We needed to have my vehicle towed as it would not start. We called Winks since we have had bad service from another towing company in the past. The driver arrived within 20 minutes, was friendly and the truck was very clean. The cost was reasonable ($65) and they easily maneuvered a tighter parking lot (Walgreens on Oakland). We will definitely use them again - IF we need a towing company. read more

They scammed meme, they towed my car and charged me $475 for just a tow, said they had to use dolleys on a front wheel drive car, which no you don't, they tried to tell me it was deep in a ditch but also on the white line, not possible, they scam and overcharge people read more

Winks was awesome! I needed to move a car that wouldn't start to a repair shop and the driver, Parker, was great! Not only was he there down to the minute from the estimated time I was quoted from the dispatcher, he gave it a jump and offered to only charge for a jumpstart, but I still needed a tow. So get this... it was Easter Sunday 2019 around 7:00 PM. I had just dropped off our daughter at Illinois Wesleyan U. to finish out her freshman year. I stopped in to gas up at Casey's for the 2-hour drive home and also check the oil. I was checking the oil level on the Trans fluid dip stick (dummy - thanks Honda) so ended up putting way too much oil in the crankcase. I got a block away and realized what I had done - called a few towing services asking for help (treated very rudely by one) and realized I was out of luck until Monday morning at the earliest. I was dealing with the fact that I'd be spending the night in my van when I got a call back from Kyler, the driver at Winks Shell Wrecker Service, offering to help. Kyler not only towed me back to Winks Shell, but also opened up the closed shop, put my van on the lift, drained the excess oil, and ran diagnostics on my van. Kyler was over-the-top professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and insisting that he do everything he could to help me get home that night. And he did all of this without gouging me with a huge charge that he certainly could have done during my desperate situation. From this experience with Kyler at Winks Shell - especially in contrast to the other wrecker services I spoke with - there are no higher thanks and recommendations I could possible give. Super service. Our car did not restart when we filled up with gas in Bloomington IL. Winks was recommended by Autozone. We were towed to Winks. Replaced fuel pump and yay! Now our gas gauge works again. But still did not start the engine. Diagnostics found two sensors were bad. Got them installed and like magic the car starts again. It took the mechanic about 4.5 hours to to diagnose and resolve the engine issues. He was kind, patient, determined to get the job done and he did it. People in the community can be grateful to know there is an experienced professional at Winks. read more

Super prompt service and very respectful. My Jeep was stuck on some ice and I thought I had tried everything. Mike arrived about 15 minutes after I called, and was able to get my car off the ice without using the tow truck. It was simple but SO helpful as I had been stuck for awhile. I had an emergency blow out of my tire on Sunday and thankfully made it to Winks Shell. They were awesome! The mechanic there tried to repair my tire but when it was obviously not repairable he put on my spare for me instead and sent me on my way! I love these guys!! read more

No one truthfully likes towing services. Either you're getting towed from a place you shouldn't be or your vehicle is broken down.......either way, neither puts you in a good mood. These guys, however, make the best of an unpleasant situation. Timely service, extremely reasonable rates, and excellent follow up. All around excellent customer service. read more

We got gas here, hit the interstate and 6 miles later broke down. Called this place to see if they could bring out their tow, tools to get the engine cover off and anti-freeze. Sure-no problem. It was 105 degree out and we waited an hour. Remember-6 miles away. Finally arrived with no tools, no anti-freeze--just a tow. A tow that only holds two other people. There were 4 of us. My friend and I rode, and our husbands had to call a taxi. Got towed back to the "SERVICE" station, but he couldn't work on it because he was too busy. Yes, it has service bays. Our friend is a mechanic so they fixed it. But while we waited inside for the guys, my friend asked why they would say that stuff on the phone if it wasn't true. The counter "kid" said, I didn't know for sure. My friend said, next time you'll know, right? That's when the other "kid" who drove the tow truck told us to wait outside. In the 105 heat! Guess the young ones don't like to be criticized!!! Will NEVER stop there again. read more
