Maybe 1 other couple seated. We ordered a pound of wings each and a side of fries since the wings don't come with anything. For over $15 for a pound of wings I think it should atleast come with veggie sticks but oh well. Everything arrived in a decent amount of time. We got 2lbs of wings and two flavors: **Morning Glory - Honey Garlic w/roasted garlic and Peppers This flavor was pretty good. Nothing to wow about but tasty nonetheless. **DRY JK47 - This was recommended by the server and I usually prefer dry flavors so I went for it. There was hardly any dry rub on my wings. The flavor wasn't very strong at all unfortunately. The portions seemed decent. I didn't put them on a scale to see if they actually weighed a pound each but no one really does that, right? Anyways. Nothing to write home about but not bad either. Just a decent place for wings on a chill evening.

The wings are large and juicy. However when you go on Tuesday Wing Night, which is their WING NIGHT…read more like many other places, one expects, like other places, that you'll get as many wings as you want for a discounted price. ..but that is NOT the case! I visited about an hour and a half before they closed, so it wasn't really busy , but no one paid attention to us. And were in a hurry to go back to the bar/ kitchen entrance. When ordering the Tuesday wing special pf 2 Lbs for the price of 1, we were told: 1. we MUST order a beverage (which we were forced to waste since we didn't drink it) 2. We can only get ONE flavour for TWO POUNDS of wings! So that meant, if we ordered a flavour we didn't like, we were stuck with it. 3. We could only have the Tuesday Special ONE TIME PER PERSON!.. so if we wanted more wings, it would be at regular price. I don't recommend going here when there are better wing places that not only apply their special throughout the day and your visit, but also have a minimum of 5 individual wings of 1 flavour which means you can try more flavours and not get worried about being stuck with 1 lb of a flavour you hate.

I was surprised to see how this restaurant looked; it was an actual firehall, looking quite authentic when turned into a restaurant. The servers even have firefighter uniforms on, which was something I hadn't seen before. After being seated in a booth, we had settled on the fried calamari to start, following by a cheeseburger with fries for myself, while my friend settled on the sweet potato fries and the buffalo chicken wrap. The fried calamari came within ten minutes of us having ordered. They were quite delicious, with two different kinds of dipping sauces, which went perfectly with the calamari. Next, our main meals arrived. The cheeseburger was very well-prepared, tasting juicy and appetizing. I loved the toppings, especially the in-house garlic sauce, which was a nice addition to the burger. The fries were also nice, as they were crispy, and large enough to fill me up. We then finished our meal with a delicious slice of cinnabon cheesecake, which was amazing! Service was awesome as well, as our server (with the Australian accent), came to check on us often, making sure that we were enjoying our meal. Overall, this place definitely surprised me, as I had an excellent experience in an old firehall, which I didn't expect at all. Would highly recommend this place for a delicious meal in an authentic setting.

November 22/2025: Dinner with the Circle of Harmony group…read more Busy place in the downtown Oakville area. Menu choices were nothing special but decent. I had the "Mexican Bodega Bowl" ($23.25) with a large Canadian ($8.75). The Bowl was delicious but a very stingy portion size, didn't fill me up but very tasty as nonetheless. Our server "TJ" was a dynamic, pleasant fellow & was excellent at his job. Restaurant ambiance was a family style experience with lots of seating & quit noisy but that's what comes with a family restaurant setting. This is a do-over but with a different menu selection

Was at the location near work the night before, My cousin requested to eat here for her birthday,…read moreso I took her here. This location, the waitress was super nice and the restaurant was nice and clean. It didn't take us long to get seated, but the food did take a while. I didn't have a good experience with the wings the night before, but I thought different location let us see what this is about, and again I was disappointed in the wings, however I tried the burger my cousin order and that was amazing. so it seems like all other items are a better choice from the wings. I have truly learned my lessons and I will stick to the burgers and other items rather than falling for my craving weakness of wings only to be disappointed. The waitress here was super nice, best service I have seen and she was running the show by herself, so kudos to her for all her hard work and maintaining a positive to the customers.

I'll start off by saying I've been to the original Anchor in Buffalo but I was going to the…read moreBurlington location not necessarily looking to compare to the original. In all honestly I wasn't impressed with the original Anchor at all really. Their pizza was very greasy and the wings were just meh. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that when you think of the original birthplace of Buffalo wings that your expectations get set a bit high? Perhaps... Anyway I was going to take this Anchor on its own merits with no comparison to the original so I won't. The location for this restaurant is where a Shoeless Joe's used to be and that Shoeless Joe's I hate to say I could see why it closed... It wasn't good when it was there. This replacement place isn't bad but my first impression is that it's not necessarily great either. I don't know if it's just me or what but the prices for this place seem rather high for the type of fare they serve. 8 wings for 14 dollars? Being a lover of chicken wings I can tell anybody that you can get wings for more reasonable prices just about anywhere. Because of the prices I was simply turned away from that option. Knowing what I know about the wings in Buffalo (I said I wasn't going to compare and in the end I didn't) they weren't blow me away anyway. The only place where 8 wings would probably fill me up is at Crisp in Chicago where they are giant and unsplit (basically double) and I wasn't going to have what would equate to an appetizer to fill me up for lunch. I'm a big guy... I need not just quality but quantity too. To me the wings just didn't seem to be a good bang for the buck. Looking over the rest of the menu I decided to go with the beef on weck for a few reasons. One is that you can't get this just anywhere here. Buffalo is close to where we live but this particular food item is not on every pub's menu so to speak. It was a change for your everyday type of food that we can get anywhere here. Surprisingly they offer poutine here, surprise surprise... any place that serves fries in Canada has poutine it's almost automatic. The beef on weck came with a side of fries for 15 bucks. I figured I'd get this since really it's an upgrade to a burger and again it's sort of a special item. The serving size was just about right. It didn't seem skimped on the meat and but it wasn't overkill at all either but it was a fair serving. The bun of course is the star of this dish though. The "weck" or bun is basically a bun that has caraway and kosher salt on it and it adds a particular taste to the sandwich. I sort of had wished I had more horseradish but either way the first few bites I had without the au jus just to get the taste. The beef seemed to be medium well type but it was juicy enough. I kind of wished it was more red, medium maybe. If I was asked (if they serve it that way) I would have asked for medium rare-ish but at the end of the day the sandwich was very good. My critique to this place is that their prices seem to be sort of higher than normal across the board. I had ordered a pint of Goose Island IPA and that was 8 dollars. With wings being almost 2 dollars each and pints in the 8 dollar range it makes me wonder how long this place will stick around with the competition for pub type fare in Burlington is rather fierce. In the end the Anchor is a decent place to go but it just seems to be more expensive than other places which are very similar in the immediate area. While I had a dish that isn't normally available everywhere else, most of what they have on the menu pretty much is as global and universal as you can get. If I would come back to the Anchor honestly it would be just for the beef on weck and not too much else, wings included. I'd put Korean fried chicken up against any other type of fried chicken these days, even an affiliate of the originator of Buffallo wings...

CHECK IF YOUR FOOD IS COOKED…read more Foremost I just want to say this is the first review I've ever posted simply because I'm not that kind of guy, but I want everyone else to be safe when eating from this place so just as a precautionary I'll post my experience. I knew the prior owner Mina would never let this happen and I've heard you're under new management and it shows. I Just picked up a sloppy chicken from an order over the phone and I don't remember them asking me if I wanted it medium rare. I had so much faith in this place that I took two bites out of a half not even thinking it would be raw before looking at the inside - hopefully I won't get food poisoning. I had the decency to call you and explain the situation and you offered to cook another one for me. I was not able to drive back 20 minutes again to pick up another order so I thought the least you could do was deliver me a cooked one. The answer I got was a No because they don't have any delivery drivers and the only option was that I can come pick up another one. The business under prior management actually generated enough revenue to support it's own delivery drivers (some of which were my friends). It's clearly become a pretty sad joint now but I strongly recommend if you decide to eat from this place that you inspect your food before becoming sick.
