First time trying wingstop since my roommate recommended their lemon pepper wings! We got three flavors: lemon pepper, Louisiana, and atomic. We ordered 30 in total but received 29. Their lemon pepper was not the best, I personally like the lemon pepper wings from boiling crab (weird place to get wings, but trust me their wings are amazing). The Louisiana wings were good! I'd recommend them over lemon pepper, although I'll probably try the lemon pepper once more to see if this time was just a fluke. I enjoy spicy food so I got 5 atomic wings, the sauce has a kick and was the spiciest one available. They had a special for Annual Chicken Wing Day. With any chicken order you got 5 boneless chicken wings. I went to go to check it out. I ordered 4 chicken tenders with Mango Habanero sauce and I got the 5 boneless chicken wings with original hot sauce. Took a while to get them, but they cook them fresh, so well worth the wait. They came piping hot, I really like my hot food hot and not warm or room temperature. The chicken tenders were so hot could be barely touched. I waited some time and then began to eat them. They were really amazing, I could not believe how juicy and tender they were and were crispy coating on them despite the sauce. The mango habanero sauce as awesome. They are a winner. On the other hand, the boneless wings left a lot to be desired. Not sure if it was the sauce (original hot) or what. This place is soo yummy!! The wings are delicious! I have had atomic, Cajun and Louisiana Rub! I didn't think I like dry rubs but I was mistaken. Louisiana Rub is amazing!! And their French fries! I had heard there were new machines around town, but nobody told me Back to the Future was in the house. It's touch screen with almost every coke beverage invented. If you're using it for the first time I recommend you sit back and watch a couple of people use it before wandering up. It takes a little getting used to! Now I'm sad to use anything else if nothing but for the selection alone. Cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper what?!? Yeast rolls for 69 cents are SO good. Soft and buttery. I don't need to tell you much more about the fries (because everyone talks about them) except they are seasoned to perfection and like nothing I've ever had. One of the coolest things (to me) is they are a part of the Mogl program. Basically, you get 10% back on your registered card for all your food purchases at participating Mogl restaurants. This is the only place I know, but I haven't done much investigating. They have a little machine to sign up with up front. If you spend over $20 at a Mogl restaurant, Mogl donates a meal to Feeding America. There's not much to be bummed about there. Service is hit or miss. There's no trash cans? This is really awkward if you've worked in the food industry or just like cleaning up after yourself. It feels wrong to just leave trash on the table. But when I asked where the trash cans were, they said this was the case. I don't think I'll ever get used to that. Sort of nice though? All the wings are dry as hell and the veggies r all old and brown looking the carrots weren't crunchy or vibrant orange like our wingstop back at home. I live in the LA area and our wing stops are bomb thr. We are in San Diego for the weekend (for the zoo) and since wingstop was down the street my hubby went down to pick it up. Really tasty boneless wings, the meat is clean and tender, the breading crispy and just right. I've had the lemon pepper, garlic parmesan, and BBQ flavors, and all are above reproach, though I think the lemon pepper wins handily. Service was fine, and the food came out piping hot. I can't speak to the regular wings, since I tend to avoid boned wings. I guess I just don't like to work for my food. I see a lot of mediocre reviews for this place, so I guess there are a ton of wing connoisseurs on Yelp. I am SO stoked this wing stop opened up right by my house. Their lemon pepper wings are seriously habit forming, no joke. I do also like the Cajun flavor, and the potato salad and fries are good sides. When ordering, you have the option of mixing flavors (up to 3 I think on certain orders 15pc+?). Also, you can download the Wingstop app to you iPhone to make ordering easier. It lets you customize orders, save favorites, and even choose what time you want your order ready. I finally asked for a refund, my inner fat kid was about to start flipping tables, i didn't have time for them to make it as though it were a newly placed order. The employee tried to give me my refund in cash, i asked if she could put it back on my card since that was how i paid. She said she could not do it, and if she could do it, it would take 5 business days. WTF. i got a half (_!_) "sorry", after they gave me my refund. no effort to fix the situation or ensure my return. i took my dirty wingstop cash and got a burrito down the street. If you are craving salty wings, STOP at Wingstop. I've eaten here a few times and can say that the service is the weak point. It takes it a star down for me. Wings - I always do the original and not boneless. Boneless wings are an oxymoron that doesn't belong same breath. Onto the food. Original Hot Wings - A bright flamin' cheetos finger-staining red color. Perfectly hot for an original sauced wing. Has that Frank's Red Hot Buffalo wing tang. The deep fied skin takes the sauce up nicely and gives a pleasant texture. They are saltier than most wings, which makes you both thirsty and going back for more. Louisiana Rub - Dry rubbed with a salt, spices, and garlic. Really cool having some dry rubbed wings on your plate to really show off that crispy skin. --- We all know skin is the best part of poultry anyway. Fries - I don't usually finish fries and I do here. Fresh cut to a medium thickness. The potato skin is on the ends. Fried to perfection with a nice crunch and tender middle. They toss them in a salt and spice seasoning blend. Veggies - Cold Carrots and Celery sticks. A nice refreshing palate cleanse is always a welcome addition. Look, I'm eating vegetables. My meal is now healthy. Blue Cheese Sauce - This is hands down the best mother fvcking blue cheese sauce (dressing) for hot wings, EVER. It is perfectly creamy and the chunks of blue cheese are small. Small chunks means the stick onto the wings better and you get the full flavor of the blue cheese sauce in every bite. I dunk wings, fries, veggies, fingers, what else can i dunk in this blue cheese, how about i just drink the rest. Soda Mix Master Machine & Tea Mini Mix Master Machine - AKA, how many weird combos can I take a small 1/2 sip of while waiting for my wings. I don't know if they are called mix master machines, but that is what I call em. I found that Unsweetened Iced Tea mixed with 20% Southern Sweet Iced Tea makes a perfect slightly sweet tea. After making too many weird concoctions the tea is a safe bet. To summarize: The food is tasty but has a high saltiness. The service however has some room for improvement. I have ordered online to show up when my order is supposed to be done to arrive to it not ever begun to be cooked. Inside of wingstop feels like a cross between a generic chain restaurant meets a fast food joint. You place an order at the register and you pay (fast food). You get a empty disposable cup and fill your own drink (fast food). The dining room has sports on TVs, they have beer, and you have to wait about 25 minutes to get your order (restaurant). Then you have to go up and get your order on a tray and it is in disposable baskets (fast food). Once you finish eating, there aren't any garbage cans or try return cubbys. This is annoying to me. I want to clean up after I eat, but instead have to walk out to leave fast food detritus heaped on a plastic tray upon that table. It feels awkward. If they streamline the service and ordering and pick a side for the mixed message dining experience, they can be stopped at more often and recommended.
