Review Visit: December 2nd, 2014 Stop for wings at Wingstop? Nah, no thanks. Wings and french fries. A seemingly easy combination that shouldn't be hard to mess up at a place that specializes in one of those things. But what I experienced was something that left a bad taste in my mouth for Wingstop, even 6 years later. On a cold and blustery day, my friend and I stopped in for dinner. We were both in the mood for wings, so what better place than to try Wingstop. It was a new experience for me and she recommended it. We walk in and are greeted with a friendly cashier. As I was new here, it took me a bit to get adjusted to the menu and figure out what I wanted to order. Once we placed our orders, we grabbed our sodas and took a seat. After chatting and us both starting to wonder where our food was, the wings and french fries had arrived. I ordered a 10 piece that came with a soda, some fries and dip. I split my wings up into a mild and hickory smoked bbq and upgraded my fries to the seasoned fries... because why not? At first glance, I knew I was in trouble. My fries looked like they were drenched in oils or something. They looked sad and depressing. I took a nervous tug at one of the top french fries and it was evident that there was possibly something wrong. But in my naivete, maybe this is how they were supposed to be. So, I tried chomping down the fries but due to the oil saturation level, I quickly stopped my attempt at eating them. Then I moved on to the wings and it was another sad story. Some of the wings were slopped and soaking in entirely too much sauce and others look like they only had some because they brushed upon the ones that were sopping wet in wings. Again, I put my judgments to the side and prepared to make the best of a bad wing situation. I tried cutting my wings up and using the excess sauce to coat the dry pieces, but that just ended up in failure and frustration. In order to not make a scene and because it was a rare opportunity for my friend and I to get dinner, I didn't make a fuss. It made me wonder why people raved about this place as the food was poorly cooked and the presentation was awful. I reconciled with myself that maybe this is just how Wingstop is. At least the rest of the night was salvaged with laughs and delicious fro-yo at CherryBerry Yogurt Bar on the other side of town. Maybe... just maybe... I will give Wingstop another try. read more

This location is guess is under new management. The place was disgusting but I didnt know because my brother went in. He ordered wings took forever then forgot my fries so ordered them. What a joke! The establishment incorrectly bagged my order and when I called to get what THEY missed I was told to bring to bring my entire order back to the store. Once I did, they realized they had made a mistake. Instead of remaking the entire order, I was told by the manager BJ (who wouldn't tell me his name and hid in the back once he said he would not remake the food. A young polite girl at the counter told me) so we just had to wait while our food got colder and colder for fresh wings to complete the order. What an insane policy! They made every single mistake and took it out on my family. Imagine making so many mistakes as a business that the owners (per BJ when I asked why he wouldn't remake my food) and management staff won't remake your food when THEY already 100% at fault for their own incompetence. Overrated. We came in and the cashier immediately had attitude with us. Every single table in the lobby was dirty and the drink stand was completely out of all the coke flavors. We had to clean off our own table before sitting down to wait for our food, and so did 2 other people. We finally got our food and didn't understand what the hype about wing stop is. They don't care about the customer. I had a coupon from a local school fundraiser and they refused to take the coupon because it is only valid 11am-2am. The coupon did not indicate anything about that time frame so I asked if they could just override it and they still said no. How am I supposed to know that if it wasn't on the coupon? Tried on the advice of family. I now know better than to take their advice. Wings were like soft wet chicken nuggets. Not desirable at all. Reached out to the corporate customer service online because they literally turned off their phone for the night at the actual location. I have been to the Glen/University location three times and have finally decide to write a review. The wings are very inconsistent some times the wings are hard dried out, some times large and almost undercooked and lastly always have the taste of being cooked in old oil. The fries are ok hot, but take them home and get ready for some cold droopy fries that taste like the oil they used. Service is hit and miss, You may have a wonderful cashier or the one that acts like your interrupting her from being on her phone. Will I be back no I have found another place for my wings, I go to Cheeseman for wings and Pizza. I was really debating between 3 and 4 stars, but it is a one trick pony so I give it 3.345678 and a thumbs up. They do one thing, and they do it well. They have 11 flavors to choose from. Can't say I have ever had this flavor anywhere else and it is delicious! Wings and Lemon?...Really? Come to think of it, I never even thought those two would go well together...but oh my they do. Kinda like Brad Pitt and Angelina or alcohol and fireworks or Simon and Garfunkel or Frodo and Gollum...or Ok you get the point. We've had the Garlic-parmesan (decent), Mango-habanero (should be re-named Sweet-n-Spicy but it is pretty darn good and not as hot as we expected; don't let the 'habanero' scare you), as well as the Cajun, Louisiana Rub and Hawaiian. The place is small but cute and clean. One complaint is my to-go fries were soggy and looked like they sat out for awhile, disappointing but didn't make me cry since after having the wings I had no room for fries anyway. Tonight i tried ordering on the app. It told me the wait was 15 to 21 minutes but then was turned off at the Peoria location. I tried calling and the phone message dated today. The message said the website was still active, but this location turned off orders for their location. After a 20 min drive, the lady abruptly told me any order would be 45 minutes. This would have been averted with any of the above. I have been here many times. Unfortunately, it was my last. As I previously stated, customer service done poorly reduces the choices I have. It's ok. Not the best wings I've had, but still good. I will likely come back. Sauces are pretty good, and they have a nice variety to choose from. The size of the wings (both boneless and traditional) seem a bit small, but they are also cheaper than most places, so I guess it works out. Inside is a bit small, but they do have a few tables and TVs. I usually order online, pick up, and eat at home. Pretty convenient. People working there are nice and fairly quick.
