Horrible service on 5/15/21 around 4pm. "District Manager," Esmeralda/Esperanza and "Assistant Manager," Junior were not willing to work with me after their staff messed up my order. At 10am, I placed an order for 100pc to be picked up at 4pm, paid $102.xx and was only given half the number of wings by pick up time. The minute my ride dropped off the "100pcs" I knew right away my order was incorrect because there's no way 100pcs will fit in 1 large paper bag. I immediately called them to let them know that I did not get what I paid for. They wanted me to drive back into town--30 minutes away; 1hour round trip--to pick up the other half of my order. I told them that the reason why I scheduled an online order was because my ride was available during that time, hence my scheduled order and would not be able to go back, so for them to credit my money back on my card, or they can Door Dash my wings to me since they made the mistake. What's disappointing was that Esmeralda not once acknowledge that she and her incompetent team messed up my order and proceeded to charge me pro-rated for the 50 wings I brought home, which would be more expensive per wing, then she would refund the difference. This means she would be refunding less than half the cost. At this time, her team still has no idea how they mess up my order. I firmly suggested that since they messed up my order, I would prefer a FULL refund, but will settle with half the cost. She then went on to give me a 5-wings and 1 fries incentive for me to go pick up the other half. Five wings and 1 fries is not worth 1 hour of my life to fix Esmeralda's mistake on top of the emotional exhaustion I had to go through. By this time, I just want to be done with unprofessional Esmeralda. She spoke with a condescending tone as if I offended her and she hung up the phone on me instead of resolving her or her staff's mistake. She no longer wanted to speak to me so she instructed "Assistant Manager" JR to relay messages to me on her behalf. (In my honest opinion, Jr would be a better "District Manager," for he at least sounded sincere and understanding, but was ordered to offer no more than 5 wings and 1 fries.) This went back and forth for almost 2 hours and along the way, Esmeralda was now only going to refund the cost of 30 wings. I was done...My event was ruined and I still have hungry guests, so had to resort to finding alternative food closer to me. I filed a complaint with Wingstop corporate. Followed up the next day with a phone call. Spoke to a Cassandra to let her know what happened. I was told that I will be contacted by upper management anywhere from 24-78 hours, but she didn't really know when I will be contacted, so for me to keep checking my phone and email. I was told by Jr that Esmeralda will reach out to me within 24-48hrs to resolve the issue with a refund. After 50 or so hours, I received a call from Merced Wingstop to hear Esmeralda taking orders and helping customers...faking a trail of customer contact. She never spoke a word to me on this issue. I hung up the phone after 40 or so seconds. It's now been a week and I have yet to receive a call from upper management regarding this issue. Luckily, my bank is able to give me a greater peace of mind by helping me dispute this overcharge. I have never had such a horrible experience and would give negative stars if possible. I've been a loyal customer for the past several years, making big purchases all the time (Wingstop, you can check my order history), but after this terrible experience with these 2 employees of yours and the lack of communication from upper management, I will discontinue my business with you. I wish you all the best of luck. On the brightside, Esmeralda and JR became my family's inside joke. Each time we experience any conflict of any size, we offer 5 wings and a fries. I have been extremely let down by this particular location, having visited it several times. On each occasion, my order has been incorrect, poorly prepared, or simply lacked effort. This is especially disheartening considering the consistently great service I have received from other shops. After being disappointed multiple times, I finally decided to stand up for myself and contacted the establishment to address the recurring issue. The worker admitted that they have been facing this problem for months due to training issues. When I inquired about a solution, I was told to return to the location, which was not feasible for me as I have my two babies with me. As a result, I feel compelled to share my experience on multiple platforms, including this one. Prepare yourself for a gamble when you order from this place. No matter what you choose, the outcome is likely to be disappointing. You might receive a cold, dry, overcooked, or soggy dish with no seasoning. Additionally, you may experience a long wait time at a crowded location, ultimately leading to a subpar dining experience. read more

Came here last night ordered 40 piece boneless wings. When the order came out they were traditional bone in. On top of that we ordered the flavor a to be 20bbq 10 hot & 10 lemon pepper and they switched bbq with hot. When I went to get my wings replaced they lectured me saying I should have said boneless (when I clearly said boneless) and replaced my wings with boneless ones that were OLD!! It was so disgusting I didn't even feel like complaining again. The only good thing about this place was the manager who was extremely humble and kind about me and my party. Don't bother calling they don't answer the phones. Can't even place an online order because they don't check those orders either until you get into the store. Second time I've gone through this with this location and I'm just done at this point. You fill out their reviews on the receipts and that doesn't change how management runs the place. With piss poor employees representing piss poor managers I'm surprised if they actually follow food handling procedures. Crew looks like they are all on probation or were pulled straight out of rehab. Bleh! Glad I dodged this one! read more

Worst place to eat in Merced. This location is not owned by Wingstop so Wingstop does not care about the feedback or how their brand is sinking at Merced. First the employees would rather play on their phone then take an order. The bathrooms were filthy and haven't been checked in God knows how long. The owner apparently does not care because of the previous reviews. The employees attitudes are horrible especially the Mr I Dont care tattoo with lips on the neck. Its okay this place will get a huge wake up call when a city inspector takes a look at this place. read more

This place needs more than a little help, this business is being ran straight to the ground! It's messy, owner is all about money, scams people for their money when it's $.60 boneless wings racks up the money! The equipment is not up to par, nor is it safe for the employees! The restrooms are disturbingly dirty I have photos! Especially when they first open things should be clean and in order! I will never eat here again! Seems like management is poor! The variety of wings is good and fries are unique. Unfortunately, for a being a wings specialist they could use some help. The wings are so hard and I feel like half the meat is not longer soft. The classic spicy could use a lot less sodium....and cmon how about some napkins at every table and not this cardboard roll at the counter. Having beer is the only thing that lightened me up when I was there. The next time I want wings though will be with my pizza order cuz dominoes and pizza hut get it done better read more

My friend introduced me to wing stop. This place is great except when it gets busy the quality in food goes way down. Best to go near closing and they hook it up really nicely. My favorite flavors are lemon pepper and mild. The bleu cheese dressing actually has chunks in it. That's a plus in my book. The boneless strips rule and the roles are other worldly and cost next to nothing. The prices are kinda steep for fast food but this place is one of the best fast food joints out there. If you don't like their Lemon Pepper wings, you need to have your taste buds checked! My favorite flavors on the bone-in wings are indeed the Lemon Pepper, Garlic Parmesan, and Cajun. On the boneless wings and strips, I prefer Teriyaki, Hawaiian, BBQ. The potato salad is the BEST that I have ever had ANYWHERE!! The bourbon-baked beans are excellent. The fries are very unique and my kids love them. The staff is VERY friendly and we love the oldies music that they play. A must visit!!! read more

Given my first time out West, I enjoyed the wings at WingStop tremendously!!! This morning being my last day in Merced, I placed a large order to go shortly after the store opened and Alberta was amazing!!! She got my order to me in a timely fashion and apologized for the wait, which in my opinion wasn't beyond the norm.
