My friend and I also find that the onion helps cut through the greasiness of the fried chicken which keeps you from feeling bloated or full. We came home with 2 pieces of chicken so 2 people can possibly share if light eaters. I had the original recipe with soy ginger dipping sauce. The chicken is cooked to order so it comes out piping hot and very crispy on the outside but juicy and tender within. The chicken definitely needs the sauce as it is not seasoned like KFC so I think it's intended to work in unison-chicken and sauce. Service is great as you order at counter and they bring it out to you when cooked. They give you a couple of slices of wedge fried potatoes as well as a daikon dish. Overall, it was a satisfying meal in a cool restaurant row strip mall. I'll be back.

I've watched the ownership, menu, and prices evolve, and today the restaurant has clearly embraced some of the Korean fried chicken influences and element instead of the pure traditional Southern-style broasted chicken I remember from 2009. Even with those changes, the one constant has been quality. The chicken is still fried fresh to order with a crispy crust and juicy meat that's worth the wait, and the thick-cut potato wedges are still a must. Over the years I've paired Chicken Box with everything from a red wine like Chateau Cheval Blanc to beer like Heady Topper, Tree House, the Pliny, etc....The style may have changed, but Chicken Box is still the place I think of whenever I want outstanding fried chicken with an equally outstanding drink.

HANDS DOWNNNN MY NEW FAVORITE CHICKEN PLACE!!! To be fair I don't think I had a favorite as long as…read moreit was Korean style like bonchon, kyochon, bbq chicken etc were all about the same to me. BUT THIS ONE?? THIS IS DIFFERENT. The chicken is suuuuuper juicy tender like gushing out juice let me tell you. Not a single dry or over fried piece. You can also tell it's fresh chicken not something that's been fried and refried a million times. Also! The chicken is completely cooked while still being that juicy no sus looking bloody pieces here (yes yes I know it can be safe to eat, but I just don't enjoy that). AND!! The meat is so juicy and the skin is fried so crispy. Truly best of both worlds I had a great time. Also I will alwayssss prefer a dry rub over wet marinade AND THIS PLACE HAS IT DOWN SOOOOO GOOD!! They do variations of flavors so it's not just "Lemon Pepper" where sometimes it's just too sharp too sour for me (sorry wingstop) but "Lemon Pepper Curry" where now there's that savory flavor from the curry and is making everything more well rounded. Their seaweed flavor is also amazing (don't let the black color scare you) and tastes just like those fried seaweed snacks !!! Umami yes yes super good. The Lemon Pepper Curry ($1) and Gim ($3) add ons are super worth I promise. They even half the price when you order the flavored mixed so we paid 50 cents and $1.50 for the flavors. I cannot vouch for other flavors and next time I come back I will be getting these flavors again. And maybe just original fried because why not. The chicken is fried so good yknow?? Spicy Carbonara Tteokbokki ($17)-- Ok visually ngl they really threw me off with that broccoli so I had pretty low expectations like hmmm... interesting. BUT IT WAS ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD!! The dish and also surprisingly the broccoli in it. It's not too sweet like how some places do their rose (or like the buldak carbonara) and instead it's savory and rich almost like pasta sauce? I dipped the chicken in this sauce like the sauce was 10/10 amazing. They give you a sauce and pickled radish when you order. Sauce was ok not bad, but I just liked dipping in tteokbokki sauce more. And you don't even really need the sauce because the skin is so flavorful. Parking is easy since there's a big lot. Definitely will be back!!!
