Back after 8 months. ​Rating: (3/5) ​I stopped by the Hamden location in the plaza right around 10:50 AM. I was the only person in the store, but it still took about 16-17 minutes for a 10-piece to come out. While that's not a deal-breaker, it felt like a long stretch for being the first customer of the day with an empty shop. ​The Wings: I went with the Mango Habanero but got the sauce on the side so I could control the heat. This is definitely a winner if you're a fan of spicy food--it's got a great kick and just the right amount of sweetness. If you're sensitive to heat, this might be a bit much for you, but for me, it hit the spot. ​The Quality: The wings were cooked thoroughly and had a nice, golden crisp. One odd thing: the aroma coming from the bag had a distinct "fish fry" smell, almost like the oil was shared with fried fish (even though they don't serve it here). Luckily, it didn't affect the taste at all--the flavor was solid. ​Final Verdict: Overall, I'd give the wings themselves a 6.5/10, and the experience a 6/10. After having brunch, I stopped by WingStop in Hamden to try out their 70 cents boneless wing deal. It's $7.49 for 10 wings which you can get two flavors, 1 flavor for 5 wings. I opened them straight after they were given to me to eat them hot. I got the flavors Original Hot & Hot Honey Rub. I will say my favorite was the Hot Honey. I loved the crunch and the sweet and savory flavor it had to offer. The Hot ones were okay, just an average hot wing sauce. Their ranch has been hyped for a while and for my first time it wasn't that bad. I would definitely go back again and try some other menu items. I waited about 25 minutes for my order so I would say service is slow but maybe it was a busy day. The inside is has a small area to eat if that's what you're looking to do. Not sure why this place has such low scores, I like their food a lot. It's not perfect, but I've always had a good experience here overall. Today I got 20 boneless wings with fries and ranch for dipping. I always get their ranch because all of their other sauces (nacho, blue cheese, honey mustard) taste funky to me. The fries weren't impressive; half of them were burnt. The main reason I came is for the chicken, which I love. Their boneless wings are crispy and delicious all the time. I also enjoy their tenders. I've tried most of their flavors so I'll break them down going from mildest to hottest: Plain: Delicious on their own and the ranch dip goes great with them. Hawaiian: Reminds me of a mild General Tso's Chicken sauce. Very good. Garlic Parm: Delicious but too salty. Lemon Pepper: I myself am not a fan of lemon but these still weren't bad. Hickory Smoked BBQ: Very tasty, good BBQ flavor. Mild: Great Buffalo flavor for those who can't handle spice. Louisiana Rub: Delicious, great for picnics if you can handle medium spice. Spicy Korean Q: Love this one, Asian flavor and spice level are in perfect balance. Original Hot: Same flavor as mild but hotter. It's good, especially when paired with ranch. Hot Honey: This is a new flavor and it's very good; sweet and spicy done right. (On a side note, I'm really glad they got rid of Maple Sriracha, that one wasn't good at all.) Cajun; Delicious and not as spicy as I thought it would be. This is categorized as a level 4 spice but it feels more like a level 3. I haven't tried Mango Habanero since I don't like mangos. If I ever try Atomic I'll do an update. This place is great, IMHO you can eat here with confidence. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would, but I'll give them a one because the ranch at least lived up to its expectations. This was my first time having wing stop ever- and it'll probably be my last. I'm not sure when this location opened- but I know it was within the last few weeks at least- and it was already filthy inside. There were papers all other the floor in both the lobby area and kitchen. The trash piled up multiple times during my 20 min wait for my takeout food, and more. I also witnessed many other people wait 20+ minutes for their food, even those who ordered ahead. But regarding the food- you can review my photos below and see for yourself, there's enough said. The taste was not there at all. The only thing that saved this meal was the ranch. I even had to just throw my drink away because of all of the fountain beverages were gross- and I had time to try multiple ones as I waited so long. Apparently the traditional wings are not as bad, but I won't be trying them to find out. If you can't give me a good french fry at least, you've already failed in my books. Love the wings here, service is very quick. The cashier or the person taking the order... usually are always new and I feel that gives a bad impression. But overall there are bunch of Indian students running the show and I am surprised on how well they are able to multi task and work on the orders. read more

Never again. Overpriced and wings were not tasty. Bought 3 different kinds, (for $80) and none were good. Way better places out there.

I don't usually blast restaurant but this one here, I couldn't let go by. I ordered 5 pcs garlic parm tenders, I believe the worst restaurant experience ever, chicken hard n over cooked, and fries looked, tasted over cooked burnt, the best thing was the soda, so said to say. read more

These lost bozos in there immediately just stare at you when you walk in they don't say hello ! They are super incompetent, it's like a restaurant full of kindergarteners, all Indians who don't speak English ! Would avoid they mess up your order and they are rude ! read more

Let me just say that going into it, I wasn't expecting a lot in terms of quality. I was expecting a buffalo wild wings--esque experience and that's basically what I got. That being said, I'd argue that the wings here are worse than BWW who also has a wider range in options on their menu which helps them out in this case. My experiences here with the wings were that they were cooked pretty hard and I even had a piece that was literally just a hunk of bone covered in sauce. Also, my last order of 10 had only a single flat. The boneless wings are fine. They taste pretty artificial but I didn't expect any less, not that i'm complaining about this. The food is also pretty damn expensive. I'd rather just support a local wing joint seeing as I'll only be paying a little extra than what I paid here. The good thing about this place is that they're open till midnight which makes a decent dinner after late night closing shifts. Gonna add to this once i've tried the chicken sandwich! read more

Go somewhere else. The service is sloooooww. So many people working inside and it takes 20 minutes to get an order. I went there twice, once when they just opened. The wings were super small and expensive. $19 and change for 12 wings? The drums were super small can you imagine the other parts of the wings? In total probably got 2-3 ounces of meat. For all the staff they got in there doing NOTHING! They could keep the place cleaner. The second time I went I specifically asked the cashier if the wings got a little bit bigger. He said yes and someone else who works there jumped in and also said "definitely did" well... if anything they got smaller. As soon as I got the order I made the point of showing them and telling them. I'm not coming back. 19$ for this! Incredible. You said they got bigger. Their answer was "yeah we got some other people complaining about the same" then I said... why didn't you say that when I asked you. You're going to loose a lot of customers. You lost me. Did an online pickup and I asked for a cup of water. Water at the soda machine was carbonate, didn't have just regular water. In my pickup I asked for honey mustard, said that they didn't have any and the cashier was just rude about it. Plus the fries were dried and almost burnt and the chicken sandwich was drenched in mild sauce. Did not like this location. read more
